Delightful Illusions

Hi, guys! Today's post is very exciting because I am talking about the amazing progress I made on my Pan Those Eyeshadows 2020. I apologize for the late progress, I have been very busy with work since I am frontliner. Anyway, I have hit pan on 4 shadows that are included in this project and 1 bonus pan the past month. I feel like one of my talents is to hit pan on eyeshadows as I do it well and often considering that I am light-handed.

Focallure Sweet As Honey Palette - Champagne
The first shadow that I have hit pan is this matte champagne shadow which I have used as a transition shade on almost all my eye looks since I rolled this in. This eyeshadow is nothing special and it barely shows up on my eyelids. I think I have hit pan on this fastly because I have to apply 3 layers before this shows up on my skin. It is quite powdery and I was surprised that the pan is shallow, though each of these pans contain 1.5 grams of eyeshadow. I have used this 31 times before I have hit the pan.

Beauty Glazed Uranus Palette - Shade No. 4
Finally! I have hit pan on this dark shimmer green which took me an eternity to hit pan on. Haha! If you have seen in my Pan Those Eyeshadows 2020 Introduction, you know that this eyeshadow has been in here since the beginning of the project. It feels so satisfying to reach the pan of this eyeshadow since this is not the type of green I would reach out. I focused on this shadow the previous month and I am so happy that I reached my goal. I have used this 27 times since January before I have hit pan on this.

SACE Lady Natural Palette - Satisfaction
I have hit pan on this shimmery beige eyeshadow  which is included in this project. I forgot to tally my usage on this eyeshadow so I can't tell you how many times I have used this before hitting pan. Haha! I have also hit pan on this matte brown eyeshadow which I have used as a crease shade in most of my eye looks. I am so happy to have a bonus pan because hitting pan organically gives a different feeling.

ZOEVA En Taupe Palette - Handmade
Lastly, I have also hit pan on this duo chrome pink-gold shade which I have used on as highlight on my my inner lower lash line. I tried using this as a lid shade but it was underwhelming so I just used this a highlight shade. I am so proud of myself because I managed to hit pan on two highlight shades at the same week. Yay! I useed this 30 times before I have hit the pan.

UCANBE Marvel - Shade No. 7
This matte dark burgundy shadow will take me a while to hit pan on.This so pigmented and I don't need to use a lot in order for this to show up on my eyelids. I always incorporate this on my looks and I am finally seeing a dent which is so amazing. I have used this 22 times already since I rolled this is in but I don't have any idea how deep this pan is. I am not expecting to hit pan on this by the end of the month but maybe I can. Who knows?

ZOEVA En Taupe - Gallery and Outline
I have said before that I will be focusing on this palette this year and one of the shadows to include in this project will be from this palette. I have rolled-in Outline together with Handmade and I can finally see a dent. I haved used this 25 times already and I am crossing my fingers to hit pan on this by the end of the month.
To replace Handmade, I have randomly generated another shade from this palette and Gallery was picked. I have used this shadow quite a bit before rolling this is in and I have already made a dip. I might hit pan on this shadow by next month. Let's see about that.

SACE Lady Natural - Wicked Game
I may have hit two pans on this palette, but my random number generator have picked another shadow from this palette. For this round, I am rolling in this shimmery red shade. I have used this shadow in the past and I liked the outcome. I am not yet sure how I will incorporate this with the other shadows included in this project since I am working on taupe shadows. I might use this more on my lower lash line as an accent shade.

Pudaier Milky Way - Arctic
Another palette that is coming back is this pastel-themed palette which took a month of rest before rolling it in again. Haha! I have randomly generated this shimmery white eyeshadow and I am not excited nor disappointed; I am just surprised that all of the eyeshadows that I have, I have to roll-in another shimmery inner corner highlight shade. I find this really funny and I think my random number generator application is making fun of me. Haha!

Beauty Glazed Uranus  - Shade No. 8
Just when I thought I could roll-out this palette, I can't yet. Haha! My random number generator picked another shadow from this palette and I am not mad since my favorite shadow from this palette was chosen. I love this metallic olive green shade and I am excited to use this more and pair it with my taupe and red-toned shadows.

This is my color story for this round. It is kind of similar on my previous updates since warm shadows and greens are always being selected. Haha! I will find ways to use of all these shadows in a look and I will take pictures on the looks I will create.

How are your project pans doing? I hope you are all safe and healthy. I am enjoying this project and I feel so happy to hit pan 5 eyeshadows in a month since that rarely happens to me. I have an upcoming review on eyeshadow palettes that I recently bought and I am so excited to play with them. Did you have fun with this post? I hope you did since I was so excited to share this progress with you. Thank you for stopping by. Have a nice day. Stay safe.

Hey, guys! How are you? I hope you are all safe and still participating in the quarantine. As for me, I have to work since I am a government employee assigned under a social work department. I am kind of happy about that since I can wear makeup and have progress on my project pans, but I am also kind of worried for my health since I'll be exposed to people. Anyway, I'll be sharing with you today my thoughts about the Focallure Matte Lipsticks, the ones that look like chubby pencils. I have reviewed several Focallure makeup products in the past year and I like all of them. If you are interested on what I think about these lipsticks, just keep on reading.

From left to right: Nude Desert, Fuzzy Wuzzy, Chesnut

The first three I am about to talk are the ones that are included in the Kit 2 which contains nude shades. I love that this set contains all-nude shades but are distinct from each other. These feel like regular lipsticks but improved; opaque, creamy, thick and smooth. These are long lasting until you eat, like any regular bullet lipstick, which is actually fine since you can always re-apply. These feel so comfortable on the lips and they glide on smoothly. All of these have the same consistency and smell like chocolate-ish.

12 Chesnut

Chesnut is the darker nude in this kit and is perfect for work makeup. This pairs really well with smokey eyes that I always do since the neutral tone balances the rest of the makeup on my face. This has a hint of orange, just a little bit, and I think it would suit a lot of skin tones since it is opaque and covers my dark lips. I have applied lip balm underneath this lipstick but this is good on its own.

08 Fuzzy Wuzzy

This nude pink shade is so pretty and I know a lot of you will like this particular lipstick. I love how I can pair these with smokey and light eyeshadow looks. This is also suitable for everyday wear at work or school. It doesn't make me look dead, which is really important in formulating nude lipsticks, by the way.

I looked tired from work.
11 Nude Desert

Now, this Nude Desert lipstick is the best example of a perfect nude shade. It so light, barely there, but somehow doesn't make me look dead. This is the shade that will best  pair with those dark smokey looks. If you looking for the best nude lipstick, grab this one. This is the lipstick that made me say this is really thick and pigmented; it covered my dark lips with 2 layers. It doesn't look patchy on the lips even without a lip balm.

I am sorry for the bad lighting. It looks prettier on person.
If you love nude lipsticks and are looking for affordable options with good quality, purchase this kit. If you just want a particular shade, you can buy separately at the Focallure Shopee Official Store. They are currently selling the kit for Php 176, and Php 60 for individual shades. I think the kit is such a better deal. You regret getting it, I promise.:)

09 Rose Taupe

Lastly, I would like to mention this dark warm brown lipstick that looks so grungy and my most used out of the four that I own. I always pair this with smokey looks and I love the kind of edgy, bad bitch, and grungy feeling it gives me. If you love brown lipsticks, I think that you will love this as well.

As you can see, I love nudes and brown lipsticks. They are my favorites and I think I will gravitate towards them for a really long time. These lipsticks are worth the money since they have great quality, which I didn't expect because of the affordable. I thought that these will be just my regular lipstick, but they are actually better. I love that the consistency is the same on all of these and they don't smell cheap at all. I would totally recommend this to all of you since they have a great selection of shades and I am pretty sure you can find one that suits your taste more.

Do you own these lipsticks as well? What are your thoughts and experiences? Please share those with us by leaving a comment. I hope you enjoyed this post because I enjoyed testing these out and collecting my thoughts and experiences for me to share with you. I am always happy to share with you my affordable makeup finds and there are more posts to come. Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay safe. Have a nice day.

Hey, guys! If you have seen my previous post, you know that I tried to dupe the Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette. I had fun doing it and so now I have also tried to dupe the Huda Beauty Nudes Obsessions Light Palette from my current eyeshadow collection. In all honesty, I don't feel like buying from Huda Beauty at all because they seem so shady; copying marketing strategies, allegedly stealing product ideas and releasing them ahead of companies who originally came up with the ideas, and just the fact that their products are unnecessarily expensive. I have noticed similarities from two palettes that I own to a couple of palettes that company has released. The fact that these palettes have been released before the Huda Beauty palettes made me think that they were inspired by the palettes that I am about to mention.

Way back in the last quarter of 2019, Huda Beauty released 3 9-pan palettes that are definitely similar to their larger palettes. These are the fairly new Nude Obsessions eyeshadow collection which are kind of the mini versions of their larger palettes. The Light Palette caught my eye because  it contains mauve, pinks, and lavender shades that are redundant in their recent releases. It's like they made the people buy their overly expensive palettes and just a few months later, released mini versions which are still expensive. This company is so repetive.  Ugh!  Anyway, I have noticed that I already own the shades from the Light Palette that's why I did some swatching and realized that people don't need to buy this palette anymore since these are fairly common shades. I stumbled upon this gorgeous photo from @skaanderup95 feauturing the swatches of the said palette.

I noticed that the Focallure Perth Palette and Sweet As Honey Palette contain shades that are close dupes of the ones from the said palette. I consider these two palettes as sisters since one has more shimmers, metallics and glitter shade while the other has more mattes that are complementary to the former. This Perth palette was released last year around the month of June and I bought this immediately because of the color scheme. As I have said earlier, I noticed that the are shades that can be dupes and these are:

  • HNO Light  - Shade 1 vs. Perth  - Shrimp: This shade is described as matte cool-toned dark mauve. Shrimp is a lighter mauve, but I think if your build this shade on your lids it would achieve a close look.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 7 vs. Perth  - Fremantle: This is a shimmery coral shade. Fremantle is more is a lot darker and more orangey. This definitely not a nude shade, but I still think it would still fit on this color scheme.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 8 vs. Perth  - Vegemite: This is a matte light coral shade.Vegemite is also a light coral but it lacks vibrancy. I really don't mind that since you always build up shadows for opacity.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 9 vs. Perth  - Mount Eliza: This shade is described as a matte medium warm brown. Mount Eliza is close dupe and shades like these can be found in almost every palette.

Some of the shades can be found in this Focallure Sweet As Honey Palette. This palette was released last quarter of 2018. When the Huda Beauty Retrograde Palette was release, I can't help but think that it was inspired by this palette. This palette has more muted matte shades and popping shimmers, and the Retrograde Palette has more of pop of colors. It's like they took inspiration from the color scheme of this palette and tweaked some shades so it won't look so similar. I know Focallure is known for duping makeup products and selling those for affordable prices, but since Huda Beauty is such a shady company and I love this palette, I am gonna be shady too. I think that they took inspiration from this palette. My mind can't be changed.

This is a sister palette of the Perth Palette and some of the shades from the Light Palette can be found here as well. These are the following:

  • HNO Light  - Shade 2 vs. Perth  - Witchcraft: This shade looks different in some lightings and angles. Basing from the photo I found. this shade looks like a pinky purple shimmer. Witchcraft has darker base but I think it still has that pinky purple vibes. I have worn this shade a few times on my lids and I fell in love everytime. This gives me that classic Barbie inspired makeup look.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 3 vs. Perth  - Pale Chesnut: This is described as a matte medium pink shade. I don't have this particular shade but Pale Chesnut is  lighter mauve and I think it is a good replacement. This looks lighter on the lids and it is a good transition shade for mauve and pink eyeshadow looks.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 4 vs. Perth  - Pure Copper: This is a metallic medium brown shade. Pure Copper is a little bit warmer but I think it isn't really much of a difference once applied on the lids.
  • HNO Light  - Shade 1 vs. Perth  - Cosmic Latte: It's a matte beige shadow that is common to most eyeshadow palettes. I realized that I should have chosen Desert Sand instead of Cosmic Latte since the latter is deeper. Anyway, it is still a base shade and any shadow like is a replacement.

Lastly, that lavender with gold shift shade has a dupe I found on the Sleek Oh So Special Palette which is still one of my favorites. This palette was released most probably 10 years earlier before the Light Palette came out. Sleek more likely has the original idea and their shadows have nice pigmentation and texture which is consistent through the years. In the Oh So Special, the shade is called Gateau and is lovely all over the lids. If you have this palette, don't buy the Huda Beauty one anymore because they are the same. Save your money, people.

What did you think of my dupes, guys? I know mine is a lot warmer and darker, but I prefer this color palette than the one from Huda Beauty. These three palettes are cheaper combined compared to the Huda Beauty palette. Are they insane? Why is a 9-pan palette $37 dollars? That's a total scam. I know I sound so hateful but I am really just not buying the bullshit that some of these so-called "high-end" brands have. If you are like me who doesn't want to waste so much money on makeup that would definitely expire in a couple of year, definitely shop your stash and hunt for some dupes.

I had fun doing these type of posts and searching for dupes that I already have on my collection. I might do another one soon since I determined in helping you save money and buy affordable alternatives. These are mad times and we better save our money for necessities, not wants and vices. I hope you enjoyed this post and I have lots of posts that you can read as well while your are on quarantine. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day. Stay safe.

Hey, guys! How are you? I hope you are all safe and doing the quarantine because this virus is not a joke at all. Please take care and do what's necessary so the virus would stop spreading and pray that we could go back to our normal lives soon. I am currently working from home since I can't get out of my town and I am kind of getting bored. I already miss going out and wearing makeup.

For today's post, I am going to talk about a palette that I feel like was inspired by the Melt Gemini Palette which was released I think last 2018. This palette became famous immediately because it has the unique and eye-catching combination of mustard and green eyeshadows and give off grungy makeup looks. To be honest, it caught my eye too, I  just don't want to pay 58 dollars for a 10-pan eyeshadow palette. This even expensive than a Jeffree Star Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes. Why is this so epensive?

I purchased this IMAGIC High Heels palette last year November because I was so drawn with the color scheme since I really love green eyeshadows especially the olive ones. The Tango shade (matte olive) was the one that caught my eye, the one that I fell in love immediately, and so I ordered it without second thoughts. Then, I realized that this palette seems so familiar, like I have seen this before. I remembered that the Gemini Palette has the same vibe and I realized  that High Heels was  inspired by this palette. I can't call High Heels an exact dupe because some of the shades have different finishes and a couple of colors were not included on the palette.

To refresh my memory, I went to Instagram and browsed for the swatches of the Gemini Palette and I saw this post from @lizddagerbeauty. Basing from the photo above, I can tell that some of the shades from the High Heels Palette are close enough to be dupes, while tothers are different because they made a different finish. I don't have the Melt one so I did my best to compare my palette based from the picture and selected the shades to swatch to see if I can recreate the vibe. Obviously, the Melt palette has a greater quality; so pigmented, vibrant, and seems like has a buttery texture. IMAGIC has a nice quality too, but I needed to layer the eyeshadows a few time to mimic the opacity that the Melt has.

On a natural light
I tried to select the eyeshadows that are close to the original palettes and these are the following:
  • Gemini -Luna (matte honey beige) vs High Heels - Cake:  They look pretty close, and that isn't a big deal since both will be used as a brow bone highlight or to set the eyeshadow primer.
  • Gemini -Gemini (vermillion duo chrome with gold shift) vs High Heels - Gem + Gift: There isn't a gold duo chrome shade on the palette so I layered Gem with Gift. I think they look similar enough.
  • Gemini - Lorelei (matte mustard) vs High Heels - Lucky: This shade is lighter than Lorelei, but I think they will look similar on the eyes. If you use Lorelei lightly, I think it wouldn't be much different than Lucky.
  •  Gemini - Polkadot (matte warm tawny brown) vs  Beauty Glazed Lemon - Shade No. 9:  Since I can't anything to dupe from the palette, I pulled out my Beauty Glazed palette and I found a close dupe. This such a common warm brown shade and you can find a lot of these from your collection.
Under the sunlight
  • Gemini - Cupcake (matte true brown) vs High Heels - Grow: Basing from the picture, I think this is an exact dupe. The swatch looks lighter, but in the eyelids it looks deep.
  • Gemini - Bonnie (matte black) vs Any pigmented black eyeshadow: Honestly, it's not even a big deal if the black eyeshadow isn't included in the palette. I have several matte black eyeshadows from my other palettes
  • Gemini - Leo (matte army green) vs High Heels - High Heels: The army green from this palette is in a metallic finish. I don't have any shades similar to Leo so High Heel would do.
  • Gemini - Fire OG (matte olive green) vs High Heels - Tango: This is a spot on dupe! I know it looks lighter on swatch, but if your build this up, you will get the same vibrancy of the Fire OG. This shade is so unique for me and I am so happy they made this.
  • Gemini - Goalz (metallic lime green) vs High Heels - Elf: This is more of like a topper shade but still looks luminescent on the lids. This is my favorite shade in this palette and I prefer to have this than Goalz.
  • Gemini - Mochi (matte olive mustard) vs High Heels - Desire: I just wish that aside from Desire, they also made a matte shade similar to Mochi. Desire looks so pretty as an inner highlight shade and I am glad to have this on this palette. I just wish there are more green matte shades included.

Obviously, this palette has more shades and you can create so much more looks than the Gemini Palette. This is not a spot on dupe of the Gemini Palette, but it has the same vibes and you can recreate that olive green smokey look using this palette. I bought this from Shopee, from the IMAGIC Official Store, which came from China. I know it is not a great time to buy from them since we don't want to risk accumulating the virus, maybe we can wait till we can safely ship products from China again.

I still have to play with this palette more in order for me to do an in-depth review. This post wast intended for duping the Gemini Palette, rather than reviewing this palette. I just wanted to do a relaxing content to make and share with you. I hope you find this post helpful as I aim to share affordable makeup alternative I find. I have so much makeup products to share and review and I hope I have the time to post them soon. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a nice day. Stay safe always.

Hey, guys! How are you? I hope you are all safe from the virus and doing the quarantine smoothly. I still go to work since it is necessary, but I'm taking all of the precautions that was imposed to us. Please take care of yourselves including your mental health. Anyway, I will be updating today my Pan In Everything (PIE) Project Pan which I started in January. Basically, this project aims to hit pan on all of the makeup products you have and it goes on for as long as you have an item that you didn't hit pan yet. You can read my introductory post to know more about the background of this project and to see who created this project. :)

Since I started this project, I have hit pan on 3 products and I have rolled-in new products to hit pan on. I have been focusing on my pressed powder face products such as highlighters, blushes, bronzers and contours since I don't want to include eyeshadow products in this project. If you are interested, I have a project dedicated solely to hitting pan eyeshadows called the Pan Those Eyeshadows. It's a fun project where you can create different color combination and just be creative with your eyeshadow looks.

Pinkies Collection Blusher (using as a highlight)
I love this as a highlight on my cheekbones and I think this one of my top highlighters from collection. I love golden pink glow that it gives on my skin and the fact that it doesn't emphasize blemishes and texture on my face. I will miss using this but I still need to utilize other highlighters from my collection. I have hit pan on this after 3 uses and I used it for another 3 times before rolling it out on the project.

Focallure Sculpt Glow Contour and Highlight Duo 03
I have also hit pan on this contour powder from Focallure Beauty. I have reviewed  this last year and I said that this is the perfect contour shade for me and that I use this every time I do my makeup. I have I used this maybe at least 30 times before rolling this in into this project and I have hit pan on this after using 16 times. This is a lot of product and I might not finish it this year. I will continue to wear this from time to time in conjunction to my other contour products.

Vice Cosmetics Contour Powder (Porshur)

Since I have hit pan on the Pinkies Collection Highlight, I have replaced it with this contour powder. I actually use this as a bronzer because it is a little bit warm and I don't want a warm contour. I love this product and it didn't took me a long time to hit pan on it. I just used this 8 times before hitting pan on, but I have used it a lot of times before rolling this in.

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter (Be My Highlight)
Oh my gosh! This product is immortal. I have used this a lot since I bought this back in 2017 and I still haven't hit pan on it. This gives a natural glow and is very suitable for work especially on a formal setting. I still like this but I'm kind of getting tired of this highlighter since I currently love glowy and blinding highlighters. I try to use everyday and pairing this with a different highlight so I won't get bored. I have used this 20 times ever since I started this project and who knows when will I hit pan on this. I'll just go with the flow I guess.

MAC Powder Blush - Lesson In Love
Due to my carelessness, I have dropped my Human Nature Sunkissed Blush and it cracked on the floor. I replaced it with this sheer pink blush and I think this is one of the products that will stay the longest on the project. This is hard-pressed and I really need to dig into this to get a color pay-off. I have used this 20 times since I included this on this project and it looks I haven't used it a lot. This is the only MAC blush I own and I don't have an idea if all of their blush powders feel like this. What do you think?

Ever Bilena Kris Collection Blush (First Love)

Since I have hit pan on the Focallure Contour, I replace it with this matte blush which I reviewed last year as well. I like this blush and I don't see any problems on hitting pan on this. This product only weighs 2 grams and might hit pan on this before I post my next update.

Jacky and Lauren Rose Gold Highlighter Palette (No. 3)
Last but not the least, I have rolled in this rose gold highlight as a replacement for the Vice Cosmetics Contour in the shade Porshur. I layer this on top of the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter and I love the golden glow the pinkish gold glow that it gives. As you can see, I already made a dip and might hit pan on this real soon. Let's see about that.

So these are the products that are currently in this project and I am happy that this project is going on smoothly for the most part. I am also proud of my self that I am currently consistent in posting my project pan updates since I haven't done so in past years. Haha! I feel so motivated to post more on this blog and I have ideas on the products I will feature in the future. I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you have anything to say, feel free to leave a comment. Thank you so much for stopping by. If you like my content, you can follow this blog to stay updated on my upcoming posts. Have a nice day. Take care!
