Delightful Illusions

The year 2023 is coming and it's time for me to refresh my Project Pan. I have participated in a lot of these project and I can say that those experiences taught me to utilize what I already have instead of collecting and never using what I have purchases. One of the most exciting installments of this vast community is doing the Pan That Palette; it's a popular project where you have to finish an entire eyeshadow palette all throughout the year. Since it is nearly impossible to finish a palette for a year, most project panners tend to bend the rules or give themselves goals that will consider them in a successful Pan That Palette Project. The only person I know that successfully has done this is Amber F where she used up Urban Decay Naked (Original) Palette back in 2014. Remember those days?

It's been years since I have done this project and the last palette I included in this is the Sleek Oh So Special Palette. I haven't finished the entire palette, I think I have hit pan on 9 eyeshadows and nearly finished 2. I have already decluttered that palette though because it was ready old and the quality of those eyeshadows aren't comparable to the eyeshadows I currently own. For this year, I have chosen to pan this UCANBE Marvel Eyeshadow Palette.

I have older palettes in my collection but this one is the perfect candidate for me since it's just 8 pans. I am planning to do Pan Those Eyeshadows for next year as well and having a smaller palette to focus on will keep me motivated in doing these projects at the same time. I love doing these eyeshadow project pans, have been these since 2015 and I will keep doing these on the years to come.

I usually don't do warm eyeshadow looks since I love cool-toned smokey eyes but this palette is quite old and it's already faced out in stores. Red-toned eyeshadows are of my least favorite but this year I have been buying them and I'm starting to like them. I think these tones suit my Asian skin pretty well and I want to explore more eye looks.

For the month of January, I think I'll just play around with the eyeshadows and create various eye looks. I have already hit pan on the 7th shade (matte burgundy); this was on my Pan Those Eyeshadows 2020 and it took my 3 months of continuous pans to reach the pan. I don't expect great progress on the next couple of months but maybe another pan on one of the matte shadows. That will entirely depend on what kind of eyeshadows I will roll-in in my upcoming Pan Those Eyeshadows project.

Let's take a closer look on the swatches again since my review post didn't have clear pictures. I got a new phone with a great camera and I'd love to show some swatches.

They are clear now. I'm excited to take more pictures and share them with you guys! As I have said, I don't expect great progress for the next 2 months but I hope to hit a pan at least. My plan is to give updates every two months since this is going to be a slow burning project and I don't want to bore you with updates that don't have much to offer. I think 2 months will collect much progress than giving updates monthly. Anyway, I think that's all for my introduction post. I will post my Pan Those Eyeshadows 2023 introduction so stay tuned for that. For more Project Pan contents, you can also visit my Instagram page. I'm currently doing my P.I.E. Project Pan in there. I hope you are all well and safe. Thank you for stopping by. Have a nice day. <3

Hey, guys! How's everybody? I've been work, as usual, and didn't have any spare time to do makeup tutorials. It's been two months since I have updated you with my Pan That Palette Challenge, but I have posting a lot of updates on Instagram (@pansbysylden). This my second update and I can say I made a lot of progress for the past 6 months that I have consistently used this palette. For those of you who are wondering what palette is this, this is the Sleek Oh So Special Eyeshadow Palette. This is the oldest palette in my makeup collection that's why I have decided to pan this palette for 2019. I love this palette so much and I am not getting tired of this yet. If you are curious as to what this palette looks like now, just keep on reading. :)

April 24, 2019
This is what the palette looked like since my last update. As you can see, I have hit pan on the majority of matte shades. I love matte shadows and I think I might finish the 3 brown shades on this quarter of the year.

June 30, 2019
And this is what my palette looked like as of June 30. I have no new pans to show but I have made an enormous progress on all of the shadows. I am so close to finishing the cream shade and the light brown shade. I have been using one of the dark brown shadow on my brows and I can say that I like it because it is the right tone for my hair color. I have also managed to create dips on the dark purple and lavender shadows. I am so positive that I will hit pan on these shadows this month. I can feel it! :) I also love the coral shade as a crease shade because it gives a fiery vibe to boring eye looks and I am quite surprised that it pairs well with the blue gray shadow. I love how I can create various looks with this color scheme. I don't have any specific goal for next update since I am still going with flow and find that technique to be effective for this project. It's just like telling me to let my creative juices flow and enjoy challenge.

I have devised a tracking system on this challenge and it was been really helpful to keep a watch on my progress. Since my last update, I have used this palette 40 times. I am quite proud of my self because I was consistently using this palette and I have paired this with other palettes in order for the monotonous routine not to be boring. For more specificity, I have used cream 33 times, shimmery pink 23 times, matte baby pink 12 times, and lavender 16 times since my last update.

I have used coral 14 times, bronze 6 times, matte light brown 29 times, and matte dark brown 33 times since last update.

For the last quadrant, I have used shimmery blue grey 6 times, dark purple 14 times, taupe brown 20 times, and black 7 times since my last update. I really don't give much attention to this blue grey shadows yet since I really don't like this as a lid shade. I am trying to find ways on how to utilize this shade more and this might be the last shadow that I hit pan on this challenge. I might grab matte grey shadows  from other palettes to pair with this shadow. I am hoping to have new pans by the next update since the 2nd quarter of the year has come and I haven't finish any shadow yet. Good luck to us!

To spice things up a little bit, I have decided to merge this challenge with a different challenge called the Pan Those Eyeshadows. It is basically a challenge where you pick random eyeshadows and hit pan on them. After you have hit pan on a particular shadow, you can pull it out of the project and select another shadow that you haven't hit pan on yet. It is a roulette style and a lot of panners on the YouTube community does it. It is one way to force yourself to use shadows you might have been neglecting, or it could be a way to create color combinations you might not normally combine. It's a fun idea and I would like to inject it on my Pan That Palette so I won't get bored easily of my project.

I used a random generator to pick two shadows that I will include in this project. I have typed the shade names on Excel all of my shadows and all of them have a designated specific number. The generator drawn numbers 14 and 45. Number 14 on my list is this Caramel shade from I Heart Makeup Semi-Sweet Eyeshadow Palette. It is a muted gold shadow that I think would incorpate well with the bronze and brown shadows from the Oh So Special Palette. This is a lid shade and I think I might not hit pan on this any time soon. I'll  try to use this on my inner corners and mix with other shadows on my lower lash line.

The last shadow I have drawn is this satin white shadow which is number 45 on my list. This shadow is from the Essence All About Chocolates Palette. To be honest, I am also not sure if I can hit pan on this shadow soon since I have two base eyeshadows that I use to set my primer in the Oh So Special Palette. Haha! I feel so lucky! (laughing in a sarcastic tone)

That's my overall progress for this project. As I have said, I still love using this palette everyday and I am still enjoying this project. I might change the rules for my Pan Those Eyeshadows if I don't see any visible progress. Anyway, how are you doing with your Pan That Palette Challenge 2019? I hope you are doing great. If you have any tips or trick on how to do this project quickly, please share those on us by leaving a comment. I love sharing ideas and learning new things! Okay, this is it for now. I hope you are all doing great. I will talk to you soon. Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay safe. I love you all! :)

Hey, guys! The first quarter of the has passed and it is time for me to update my Pan That Palette for 2019. If you have missed my introductory post (read here), I chose this Sleek Oh So Special Palette (read review here) for this challenge. I love this palette and I don't have any problems using this everyday. I can create many looks with this and I plan to post tutorials soon.  I have already hit pan on the shades Bow (cream), Boxed (matte dark brown), and Wrapped Up (matte warm taupe) before I started this project.

I use Bow to set my eyeshadow primer and also use as a base, Boxed for my brows, crease or outer-v, and Wrapped Up also for crease, outer-v or lower lash line. For my first update (read here), I have widen the pans on the eyeshadows that I have already hit pan on have also hit pan on The Mail (matte light brown shade). The Mail looks light on crease and I dip my brush on it like 3 times in order for the shade to show up and maybe the reason why I have hit pan in on it a month after I posted my introduction.

My second update (read here) was more exciting because I have widen on the eyeshadow I have already hit on and I have hit pan on Ribbon (matte coral). I mean, I have not imagined on hitting pan on that kind of shade first since I don't usually wear warm transition/crease shadows. I loved using this shadow with the dark purple shade all over the lids. The combination was pretty and complimented my brown eyes.

As of today, this is how my palette looks like. I have widen the pans even more and there are two new pans. I have hit pan on Organza (metallic light pink) and Noir (matte black). I always use Organza on my inner corners, not really as a main lid shade. I have a deep dip on Noir since this is my favorite shadow from the palette and I am so happy that I have already hit pan on it. Isn't that baby pan cute?
My goal for this palette is to hit pan on all of the shadows and use up 6 of these. I have already 7 pans and 5 to go. I am not really sure what shadows I will be using up by the end of the year but I hope that it will be more than 6. I don't even have specific target shades, I just use and use these shadows and create combination and wear those looks for weeks. I really love this palette, I still enjoy using this and I might repurchase this if ever I use up all of the shadows.

How are you doing with your Pan That Palette? Any tips for me on shadow combination or how to pan on these shadows faster? Please let us know by leaving a comment. I hope you enjoyed this post and find it motivating or inspirational for you to utilize your eyeshadows more. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you stay tuned for more posts. Have a nice day! Stay safe. XOXO

Happy New Year! How are you, guys? I have been busy with work and I needed much rest so haven't been posting for the past two months. I have been doing a lot of makeup looks which I have been posting on my Instagram makeup account (link on the side bar) and I think I will be featuring them on this blog soon. I have also hauled a lot of makeup items and I might feature them on my future posts. I really don't know where to start because I feel so overwhelmed right now. Haha! Anyway, I have ended my Pan That Palette 2018 and I have already chosen my palette for 2019. Please keep reading if you wanna know where it is (when it's actually very obvious). :)

I stopped using this I Heart Makeup Selfie Palette two months ago since the quality wasn't the same as I first got it. I bought this palette during my 24th birthday and I was amazed by the quality. I loved the pigmentation but texture has gone bad and the just felt gross. Now that I have accumulated a lot of eyeshadow palattes last year, I tossed this just recently and I just want to focus on other eyeshadows in my stash. I have used up a shadow and have hit pan on 7 shadows. I thought that I have already reached my goals for this palette and I already got my money's worth. What do you think?

Sleek Oh So Special Palette
This Sleek palette is currently the oldest in my collection and that's why I chose this for 2019. I have this in my collection for almost 2 years; I remember buying this on February 2016 and I have been using this a lot to do my friend's makeup during special events. I am not going to discuss how these shadows perform since I have already made a review on this last year and click this link if you want to read it.

Sleek Oh So Special Palette
As you can see, I have already hit pan 3 shades and I have 9 more to go. Woohoo! I can do this! My main goal for this palette and to hit pan on all of the remaining shades and maybe use up half of this. Since I don't wear pink eye looks on a daily basis, I think that this project might have slow progress. We'll never know, I guess. Who knows I might actually love pink looks and wear them everyday. For the firs month, I would just play around this palette and figure out my signature look for this palette. I will also be watching videos for eyeshadow combination and makeup look inspirations. :)

I will be keeping this post short since I have already talked enough regarding this palette. If you are doing Pan That Palette for this year, please tell us on the comments section about the palette you decided to pan this year. I hope we all make it this year and inspire everybody to consume what they have on their stash. I hope you stay tuned for updates and more posts. As always, thank you so much for stopping by. Have a nice day! XOXO

Hello, people of the internet! How y'all have been doing? Mine's pretty much the same; doing the same routine I had for years -- work, travel and home. It's been a while since I posted an update on my Pan That Palette and so I decided to do one today. I also included my Project Pan Porn on this update because they are the same thing; panning eyeshadows and see what I can finish this year. For those of you who hasn't heard of what Pan That Palette is about (which I highly doubt), it is a year-long project pan where you pick an eyeshadow palette or any makeup palette and try to finish all of them when the year ends. I have chosen the I Heart Makeup #SELFIE Palette for this year. I have started this project November last year and this palette looks full and pretty new.

Before I talk about my recent progress, let's just take a on what my palette looked like on the past months. I have actually hit pan on the chocolate brown shadow before I started this project. So I used to have 9 shadows to hit pan on and now there are only 4 shadows left to hit pan on. My ultimate goal for this palette is to use this up at the end of 2018. I'm not really sure if I can reach that goal but if ever that I won't, I will just be happy hitting pan on all of the shadows and declutter this. This of my oldest palettes, I bought this as a birthday gift for myself last 2016. Anyways, let's get right into the recent update.

I am proud to say that I have finished #CHOCFIX (matte chocolate brown) shadow. Yay! This was my favorite shadow on this palette and I'm kinda sad that it's gone. I fully aware that there are still bits of eyeshadow left but I'm going to repress them because there's not enough left and I just to use other shadows. I need to find a dupe for this because I loved the shade so much and is the perfect transition shade for most of the eye look that I create or wear. I have also widen the pan on the shadows that I have previously hit pan on.

I don't have any specific goals for the next update as I have already hit pan on the majority of the shadows. As of this update, I am close to hitting pan on the blue gray shadow. I'm feeling it. Haha! I'm actually having trouble using this shadow since it looks more blue on the lids and I'm not comfortable wearing blue shadows for work. It feels too bold for office. If you have any suggestions on how to wear this blue gray shade in a subtler way, please let me know. :) If you also have this palette and created looks with it, please share how you those looks because I'm willing to try anything.

As for my Project Pan Porn update, I have hit pan on shadow Boxed from the Sleek Oh So Special Palette. I have used this as my eye brow powder because it matched my brown hair. I have burgundy hair now, by the way. It's a matte medium brown shade that is also nice a crease shade for everyday looks. I am also close to hitting pan on the shade Bow (matte cream) because I use it daily to set my eyeshadow primer. I love this shadow because it doesn't crease all through out, like it doesn't fade and move around my oily eyelids. I am planning to do a look using only this palette and I might do a tutorial on it. What do you guys think?

I have also hit pan on the matte pinky mauve shadow from the Ever Bilena Brown Palette. The quality of this eyeshadow is okay but that matte mauve shadow is the perfect transition shadow for my cool toned eyeshadow looks. I'm obsessed with this! It  blends smoothly and shows up on the eyelids even when blended with darker crease shadows. I also love this palette because I can create looks with it without reaching for other palettes. If you are living in the Philippines and just started getting into the makeup world, grab this one. Especially if you love cool toned or smokey eye looks. :)

To conclude this update, I have hit pan on a total of 8 shadows out of 18. It's already June and I have 6 months left to work on my Project Pan Porn. I am not worried though; I wear makeup on most days and I love eyeshadows I have which excites me with this project. I still enjoy these palettes, I'm still inspired and I am still motivated. I have never been this genuinely happy wtih my project pans. I don't know, I just feel inspired and motivated.

That's all for this update. I hope you enjoyed this post and made you feel motivated with your project pans. If you have any tips, tricks or hacks on how to pan eyeshadows, please let us know. We would really appreciate those! :) I have more makeup related ideas to post so stay tuned for that. Thank you so much for reading and stopping by. I will talk to you soon. Have a nice day! Stay safe. XOXO

Hey, guys! What's up? How everyone's weekend? Mine is a long weekend since Friday was declared a holiday and so I have an extra day off to relax and do nothing. For today's post, I will sharing the progress that I made on my I Heart Makeup #SELFIE Eyeshadow Palette. This palette reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Original Palette. This palette is like a mini version of the UD Naked I, containing some dupes of the said palette. I love this palette but I wish there could be another matte shade aside from the chocolate brown shade. The quality of these shadows are nice though some of them are being inconsistent. They are blendable and pigmented but some of these will work really good if applied wet.

I started this project last year November and I have so much progress already and I am really happy about that. I have been using this constantly for 3 months and I'm not sick of this so far. That's good to hear, right? It means that out of all the Pan That Palettes I've tried, this might be the first palette that will be a success and there's a possibility that I will using up the shadows completely. I'm thrilled! Anyways, let's jump right into the update because I intend to keep this post sweet and short. I will be showing you first the pictures of the introduction and previous posts then the current progress.

Introduction (November 2017)

Update 1 (December 2017)

Update 2 (January 2018)

Current Progress (as of February 2018)

I've hit pan on Check Us In (shimmery beige) and #Love (taupe pink)! Yay! I have hit pan on two eyeshadows on January. This is exciting! I have also widen the pans on the shadows I have previously hit pan on.

I wasn't expecting to hit pan on Check Us In because my goal was to work hard on Goldigga (gold) and hit pan on it. I'm not mad about at it though. Haha! #Chocfix (matte chocolate brown) might crack soon, especially if I hit the bottom part of the pan. I really don't think I would repress this shadow because I don't like the effect of alcohol on the formulation of makeup products.

#Love is a supper pretty lid shade but it doesn't show on the eyes as brightly as it was before. I need to wet my brush before dipping my brush into this shadow to make in stand out on my lids. I think that was the reason why I have hit pan on this shadow pretty quickly.

My goals for February are to hit pan on Goldigga and #Trashy (bluish-silver shimmer), deepen the pan on How Many Likes (metallic dark brown), and widen on the pans of shadows I have already hit the pan.

That's it for my 3rd Update, hoping you stay tuned for the 4th one which will be posted in March. I hope you guys join the panning community as it feels to use the products you have and get your money's worth. I hope you enjoyed this post and find it motivating to start your Pan That Palette project. I will talk to you again soon. Have a nice day! XOXO

Hello! Welcome to my first ever post in 2018. I have decided to start my Pan That Palette Challenge 2018. For this challenge, I chose to use my Selfie Palette from the brand I Heart Makeup. I've had this palette since August 2016 and has just been sitting around my stash. It has 10 shadows; 1 matte, 6 shimmer and 3 metallic shades.

I have no complains with this palette except for the fact that it has only 1 matte. I don't have any shade for my brow bone. It has has a beige shade but it's shimmery, so no. They blend so easily and has nice payoff on lids. .

I chose this palette particularly since it contains various shades that I can use on my lids, which giving me a chance to play around with my other palettes that includes transition and crease shades. This palette cannot stand alone which will force me to use other shadows. In that way, I won't be bored with this palette immediately.

I have started this challenge in November 2017 and I have hit pan on 4 shadows since then. On my first update, which I have posted on Instagram, I have hit pan on the shade #chocfix. This a nice chocolate brown transition/crease shade that I have been wearing on my every single look. I was expecting to hit pan on this first because I have used it a lot before I started this challenge.

On my second update, I've hit pan on Awks, Share This and Club. What's even more amazing is that I've hit pan 3 shadows in 3 days straight. 1st day was Share This (dark brown), 2nd day was Awks (light pink), then last was Club (black).

I'm really happy about this progress because it had given me a motivation to continue the challenge and push myself to finish the shadows completely. I have never pan a whole palette before and I'm thinking that this year I will be able to do it. 💪🏻

Goals for the month of January:
🔹Hit pan on Goldigga (gold) and #Love(pinkish taupe)
🔹A deep dent on Check Us In (1st shadow) and #Trashy (blue grey)
🔹Widen the pans of #Chocfix, Awks, Share This and Club

Stay tuned for more updates! Have a nice day everyone. <3 span="">
