Delightful Illusions

Recently, I have been buying a lot of colorful eyeshadows from online shops. One of those colorful palettes is this Beauty Glazed Uranus Bright Eyeshadow aka their version or duplicate (allegedly) of the Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Palette. This palette has caught my eyes the moment I saw this being reviewed by the talented Ms. Tammy Clarke (here's her review) on YouTube. She came up with a really nice look from this palette and so I was curious of the formula    and decided to try it for myself. So, last month, I saw this palette from Shopee and bought from the apink,ph's shop (shop here) because they have a sale going on and their price is lower compared to others.  This was shipped from China and I was so thankful that seller packed this palette with my other purchases with care. :)

Background Information

We can see here that Beauty Glazed has similar packaging with the Huda Beauty's gem stone eyeshadow collection (is that what was it called?). They copied the color scheme, shape of the packaging, the shape of the pans, and even the order of the shades. I don't have the Huda Beauty one so I wasn't able to compare the two side by side, but from the looks of it, this palette has brighter and neon green shades compared to the Huda Beauty Emerald Palette. Just like what this palette states, "Bright Eyeshadow". Haha! I don't what Beauty Glazed did, but it seems to me that they kind of tweaked some shades just a little bit so their version won't be a spot on dupe of the HB Emerald Palette. To be quite honest with you, I prefer this palette because the eyeshadows look so vibrant and feel so smooth when you touch them.

This palette is lightweight; the packaging is made of cardboard and each shadow contains 1.4 grams. I think for the price of Php 149, this palette is so worth it. We can also see from the ingredient list that these shadow don't contain any parabens, which is good because we don't want ingredients that could contribute to cancer. This claims to be cruelty free too, they even have the PETA logo, but I'm not sure about that. This product is made from mainland China and we don't if they sell this product in China or not. We always need to verify before we can trust a brand if they are really cruelty free or not, right? :)

Swatches and Performance

Swatches with flash
So let's talk about the shadows themselves and how they perform. As I have said earlier, this palette has brighter shades and they look vibrant. Upon swatching them, I felt the smooth texture they all contain. Yes, they are soft and the mattes are powdery, but their pigmentation is screaming brightly and loudly. To be honest, the formula of this Beauty Glazed eyeshadow palette is better that Focallure eyeshadows. Why do I say this? It is because these shadows are easy to apply, they blend out nicely (i'm not saying that Focallure shadows are not), brushes pick up they shadows nicely and they apply on lids with so much pigmentation. Though the Focallure ones are pigmented as well, most of their shimmer and metallic shadows need a 2nd or 3rd layer in able for the full effect to be achieved.
They are little powdery but very smooth and pigmented
Now, I'm not gonna compare how these shadows work on different eye primers because I really don't think that's necessary. Eyeshadows will perform well and will stay all day if you have a high-performing base or primer, okay? Speaking of eye primers, I only have on that I am currently using and that is the Wet N' Wild Photfocus Eyeshadow Primer which I adore so much and helps all of my eyeshadows stick on my lids all throughout the day and is good on keeping my lids being oily. Anyways, as I have said earlier, these shadows are soft and powdery but are incredibly pigmented. I use a light hand when using these shadows and thoroughly applying/blending them on my eyes. I also love that they don't look muddy when blended beside each other. I also love the fact that each eyeshadow are distinct enough to avoid looking repetitive.

1st row (natural light)
The first row consist of 2 metallic shades and 1 matte. The first shade is more of metallic Yellow Green that looks cute on the inner corners or maybe as a topper. The second shade is a matte Pale Green which I have not used yet, to be honest, but I think this will nice as an eyelid shadow with black winged liner or something. The last shade from this row is a metallic Spring Green kind of vibe which is supper pretty on lids and gives that soft and awake look.

2nd row (natural light)
The 2nd row consist of darker green shades and has 2 metallic and 1 matte eyeshadows. The first one is more of a forest green shade, it's kind of green shade that I associate with witches. The second shade leans more on the blue side, but I can consider this as a teal or turquoise shade. I have yet to use this shade and maybe I can create tutorials with this palette. The last one is this matte sea green, it looks brighter and leans more on the neon side when you see this in person. I have used this on my leads too and looks vivid on my eyelids. I will show looks that I have created using this palette before I end this post.

3rd row (natural light)
The last row consist of neutral and wearable shadows. This first one is a matte warm shadow that pairs well with this palette's color scheme. I love how Beauty Glazed changed this shadow into warm brown because it creates balance, depth, and dimensions to the looks being created using this palette. This middle shades is an olive green shade and I freaking love this so much. Looks good with my brown eyes! The last shade in this palette is this pale lime green shade that looks more yellowy but still coordinates well with the rest of the shadow. This is so pretty on the inner corners!

Swatches on natural light
These are the shadows swatched in order and according to their row. I cannot stress enough how good they are and that they have great quality despite of being affordable.

Looks

The first time I used this eyeshadow palette, I have created a full-on green eyeshadow look. I applied the warm shadow as my transition shade, then I took a matte dark green shadow (from another palette which I may took about soon) and smoked it on my outer corners and blended some on my crease. After which, I applied the dark shimmer shade all over my lids and applied the spring green on the center and topped it with the yellow green shade. I cannot remember exactly, but I think that I also used the yellow green shade on my inner corners. I applied the matte sea green on my lower lash line and connected it to the shadow I applied on my outer corners. I loved this look so much and I might re-create this one day and do a step by step tutorial. What do you think guys?

The second look I created with this palette is a wearable one and looked really warm. For this look, I wanted the olive green to be the star of the show and it really did. This was simple look; I used all of the shades on the last row and it created a nice look. I took the warm brown shade and applied it on my crease. Then, I applied the olive green all over my lids. I love how it paired well with the warm brown! I applied the warm shade on my outer v and lower lash line and connected them. Lastly, I took the pale lime green shade and applied it on my inner. This is my favorite look so far and I am hoping to create more.

Overall, I think this palette is worth a shot and is really worth for what I paid for. I wish that these shades have names because mentioning a shade's name is kind of exhausting and redundant, but since it has an affordable price, I ain't complaining at all. I plan collecting all of the "duplicate" palettes from this brand on the future and see if the others are consistent and mirrors the quality of this palette. I also plan on getting more palettes from Beauty Glazed. Do you have any suggestions, guys? :) I recommend this palette if you're in a hunt for affordable colorful palettes.

I guess this is it for today's post. I really wish that I can upload every single week but I feel tired all of the time and just want to take a break on weekends and relax my mind just a little bit. I have been saving a lot of my energy for something and feels good to sleep before midnight. I'll talk to you whenever I can and as always, please leave a comment if you have any suggestions, opinions, requests, or questions. Have a nice and let some optimism enter your doors. Stay safe y'all. XOXO

Hey, guys! How are ya? I've doing great so far, and as always, I'm busy with work and personal things in my life. It's currently Summer here in the Philippines and it's so freeeaaaakkkkiiiiinnn hot. I can't wait for this season to be over because I always feel drained since this season started. You know, if you live near the equator, you always feel like you are being fried in a really big frying pan. Haha! Anyway, for  today's post I decided to share the makeup products I have hit pan on since my last post with the same topic. I have already made two posts in the past and if you want to read them, here's 2018 edition and the 2015 edition.

What is hit pan? If this is you first time encountering this, it is basically the silver pan you see at the bottom of a powder product after using it continuously. I have hit pan on a lot powder products in the past, way before I started blogging and during my college days. I remember finishing an entire eyeshadow because I loved the shade so much and I have bought a second one. Oh, those were the good old days! Last year, I have hit pan on 17 eyeshadows because I did the Project Pan Porn (see my updated on my makeup instragram). Most of the products you will see on this post will be the result of my Project Pan 2018. If you are curious and want to see what products I have hit pan, keep on reading. :)

SACE Lady Twilight Eyeshadow Palette
The first on my list is this SACE LADY Twilight Eyeshadow Palette and I have hit pan on the shadow Coconut Grove. It's dark black brown shade which I mainly used as an eyebrow powder. I love how pigmented these shadows are, even though the matte shades are really powdery. I have bought this palette on November and I have hit pan on a shadow the month after. Wow! I was shocked my self because I didn't know that I could hit pan on shadow a month after I bought it. This was part of my Project Pan Porn 2018 and I have loved the palette since then.

I've hit pan on the shade Coconut Grove
If you have noticed why is this eyeshadow looks so familiar, it's because this a spot-on dupe of the NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette. I have discovered that after using this palette for weeks. When I purcahsed this palette, I didn't have the slightest hint since I don't use NARS products and I don't own a single makeup item from them. This an exact duplicate; the packaging, layout, shades are complete dupes, even the shade names. I love the formula on these eyeshadow and hopefully will post a look using this palette.

The Balm Autobalm California License Palette
I have hit pan on three products on this The Balm Palette last year. This palette was also on my Project Pan Porn and Project Pan last year and I almost finished the highlighter and the blush. My favorite from this palette is the crease/liner shade as it looks good with the brown eyes. It's like a dark warm brown with gold glitters that makes brown eyes pop. I got a compliment from my mama when I used this shadow all over my lids. I love how I can create look with this palette and how convenient this is when travelling. I plan on finishing all of these powders this year and maybe buy a big The Balm palette on the future.

I Heart Revolution Salted Caramel Eyeshadow Palette

One of my biggest success on hitting pan makeup is this Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette from Revolution Beauty. I bought this June last year and I managed to hit pan matte brown shadows and made dents on other shadows. I also love this palette and I can create various looks on this palette; I made a cool toned smokey eyes, warm tone smokey eyes, black smokey eyes, fresh summer eyes and just everyday neutral looks. I have used this so much, I have bought this to my travels, and there was a time that I cannot stop using this. I am amazed with the amount of usage I got for this palette in less than a year since I got this.

I've hit pan on two shadows! Yay!

As you can see, this an exact dupe for the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Palette, which I think is an underrated palette from the chocolate bar palettes. I think that this palette has the most practical color scheme because I can create warm looks, cool tone looks or just unusual combinations with this. The only problem that I have with this Revolution Beauty palette is that the shadows doesn't last long on my lower lash line no matter what I do. I tried applying this under an eye base or primer on my lower lash line and still haven't lasted long. Hmmmm. Do you experience the same with this Revolution Beauty formula? I might try the other chocolate bar palettes especially the Mint and Macaroons.

LOL Cosmetics Bronzing Powder in Brown Sugar
Speaking of face products, I have three bronzers to show you. Yes, three bronzer, you have read that right. I have been obsessed with powder bronzers since last year and I have accumulated a decent amount since then. The first bronzer I have hit pan on is this LOL Brown Sugar Bronzer. I bought this on April last year and I have hit on the following month. This a finely-milled product that gives a smooth sun-kissed glow which suits my light warm skin. I love how is this buildable and isn't scary use even though it's warm and kinda leans on the orange side. This is one of the products that I recommend from he drugstore because it has a nice quality, one of the bests formula I have came across with, is super affordable, and contains 8 grams.

Ever Bilena Pro Cheek Set Palette
The next bronzer that I have hit pan is this cheek palette from Ever Bilena. I have reviewed this palette last year and if you are curious for my thoughts regarding this palette, read here. I have used the contour/bronzer shade a lot since I bought it and of course, I have hit pan. I am not sure which category this specific product because it's cool-toned enough to be a contour shade, but give a bronzed glow if used as a bronzer. As I have said on my review, this reminds me of the Too Face Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer because it is neutral and fits fair-medium skin tones in all undertones. I believe this is a limited-edition and was exclusive to Robinson's Department Store and their online store on Lazada. The only thing I don't like about this cheek set is how shallow the pans are doesn't contain a lot of products. I just wish that they would release an individual bronzer on this shade and would contain like 5 grams of products. Haha!

I've hit pan on the contour/bronzer

Max and More Burgundy Face Palette
Lastly, I have hit pan on the bronzer of this palette from the brand Max and More (read review here). I also bought this palette last year and is currently on my Project Pan Porn 2019. My goal is to hit pan on all of the face products on this palette. I love all of these three even though I really don't care for the eyeshadows that were included in this palette. The highlighter is blinding, the blush looks pretty and the bronzer is bomb. These three deserve their own seperate palette because they are that good. Unfortunately, you can't buy this anymore since I don't seen them on Robinsons Department Store anymore. :(

I've hit pan on the bronzer
Those are the products that I have hit pan on for 2018 and the first half of 2019. I have much more products but I don't have them anymore since I already decluttered them. I enjoy this kind of post since it shows that people actually use products from their collection before most of them go bad. What are the products that you have hit pan on? Will you buy them again? Let us know by sharing them on comments section. I hope you have enjoyed my today's post and stay tuned for more. I have tutorials planned and hopefully will be able to post them soon. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will talk to you soon. Have a nice day! XOXO

Hey, guys! The first quarter of the has passed and it is time for me to update my Pan That Palette for 2019. If you have missed my introductory post (read here), I chose this Sleek Oh So Special Palette (read review here) for this challenge. I love this palette and I don't have any problems using this everyday. I can create many looks with this and I plan to post tutorials soon.  I have already hit pan on the shades Bow (cream), Boxed (matte dark brown), and Wrapped Up (matte warm taupe) before I started this project.

I use Bow to set my eyeshadow primer and also use as a base, Boxed for my brows, crease or outer-v, and Wrapped Up also for crease, outer-v or lower lash line. For my first update (read here), I have widen the pans on the eyeshadows that I have already hit pan on have also hit pan on The Mail (matte light brown shade). The Mail looks light on crease and I dip my brush on it like 3 times in order for the shade to show up and maybe the reason why I have hit pan in on it a month after I posted my introduction.

My second update (read here) was more exciting because I have widen on the eyeshadow I have already hit on and I have hit pan on Ribbon (matte coral). I mean, I have not imagined on hitting pan on that kind of shade first since I don't usually wear warm transition/crease shadows. I loved using this shadow with the dark purple shade all over the lids. The combination was pretty and complimented my brown eyes.

As of today, this is how my palette looks like. I have widen the pans even more and there are two new pans. I have hit pan on Organza (metallic light pink) and Noir (matte black). I always use Organza on my inner corners, not really as a main lid shade. I have a deep dip on Noir since this is my favorite shadow from the palette and I am so happy that I have already hit pan on it. Isn't that baby pan cute?
My goal for this palette is to hit pan on all of the shadows and use up 6 of these. I have already 7 pans and 5 to go. I am not really sure what shadows I will be using up by the end of the year but I hope that it will be more than 6. I don't even have specific target shades, I just use and use these shadows and create combination and wear those looks for weeks. I really love this palette, I still enjoy using this and I might repurchase this if ever I use up all of the shadows.

How are you doing with your Pan That Palette? Any tips for me on shadow combination or how to pan on these shadows faster? Please let us know by leaving a comment. I hope you enjoyed this post and find it motivating or inspirational for you to utilize your eyeshadows more. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you stay tuned for more posts. Have a nice day! Stay safe. XOXO

Last Monday, as I walked inside Watson's, I saw that the Ever Bilena counter is having a 50% discount on all of the Kris collaboration makeup products. I didn't give any attention on this collection since most celebrity makeup/collaborations are just "blah". I was even surprised that Kris Aquino had collaborated with an affordable local brand like Ever Bilena since we all know she one of the bougiest sassy queens who have ever walked on this planet (that's a fact :)). I wonder if she really does use Ever Bilena products, especially before she collaborated with them? Hey, don't get me wrong. I love Kris, and she is the only maarte person that I can tolerate. I was just genuinely surprised that she did a project with Ever Bilena. :)

As I was saying, I stumbled upon the EB counter and saw that the Kris collection is having a 50% off on all of the makeup products. I was curious so I swatched some of the lip liners and liquid lipsticks, and all of them are reds or has a red tone. I don't wear red lipsticks because I though that they are too much for work and I just didn't like the look of them on me.

I decided to buy three makeup items from the collection since I wasn't really interested with the brown pencil and powder (foundation?). The shade that really caught my eye from the liquid lipsticks was "Lucky" since it looks wearable for day to day and I thought that it would look nude on my lips. Since they are on sale, I also grabbed the lip liner of the same shade to pair it with the liquid lipstick. I also thought that the packaging of this collection is cute; cursive font for her name, little cute hearts on the boxes, and the packaging was made of nice quality material.

Ingredients for the lip liner - 6.3g

Ingredients for the liquid lipstick - 3.2ml
Lucky is a mauve muted red shade that I find really flattering on my skintone. I really thought  that this shade will be on the nude side since it looks muted. Since Kris red loves red lipsticks, I thought that this wasn't a surprise at all and just went with flow. The lip liner is matte, is packaged in a retractable container, and doesn't glide that smoothly. Yes, it's matte but it has a thick consistency and you really need to drag it in order for it to move around the lips. This doesn't have a strong smell, is really pigmented, and works well with the liquid lipstick. This lip liners retails for Php 195, and is currently on sale for Php 97.50

The liquid lipstick has a smooth and mousse-like texture which I really, really adore. The formula of this lipstick sits really well with the lip liner and that both of them last really long, even when I eat. This just need a quick touch-up and I am good to go every time. To be honest, this is my favorite matte liquid lipstick formula and I hope that someday they would extend the shade range. This doesn't feel drying at all and is comfortable all throughout the day. I prefer this over the Vice Cosmetics' liquid lipstick (see my review here) because that one is drying and feels uncomfortable on the lips. This retails for Php 225 and is currently on sale for Php 125.

Ever Bilena Kris Blush in First Love - 2 grams

The last makeup item I grabbed was this powder blush in shade First Love. The saleslady said that this is the only shade left and since I wanted to try this, I bought it. Upon seeing the shade, you could tell that this will suit well with fair and light skin tones. This was used to be sold for Php 195 which I was kinda shocked since this product contains 2 grams only. The fact that this is a celebrity collaboration didn't justify the overwhelming price. Nichido has individual blushes which being sold for Php 86 and contains 4 grams of powder product.

Ever Bilena Kris Blush in First Love - 2 grams
I love that this formula is smooth, blendable and subtle. I know that this product claims to be opaque in one swipe, but with the shade, it isn't. It take me 2 applications in order for this to be visible on my skin. That doesn't turn me off since I love subtle and buildable cheek products rather than spot-on pigmented. I love to control the amount of products I put on my cheeks since I don't want to look like someboday has just slapped me. Haha!

I haven't seen the other blush shades from this collection so I don't have any idea if the shade range will suit all the skin tones. Since Kris has this pale icy white skin, I assume that most of the products from this collection was designed to suit perfectly well with her skin tone. If you love subtle pink blush, this one is perfect for you. :)

Wearing the Lucky lip liner and liquid lipstick
The main reason I commend these products is that they perfectly well go together. This is not just a random celebrity collaboration; this a well though-out collection. Surprisingly, I like all the products that I bought from this collection. I am also surprised that I like and I am so comfortable wearing the mauve red lipstick and I actually got compliments the first time I wore it. I also love all of these matched well with my smokey eye look. I don't ever pair bold lip color with dark eye makeup since that would be too much. But this one? Nope. It looks good!

If you are looking for affordable makeup products, I recommend getting these while they are on sale. They are all worth the money and are very good for everyday use. I am not sure why these products are on sale; is it because they will faced out soon or is because they need to dispatch the first batches so they could release the newly manufactured ones? Please let me know if you have any idea.

This is it for today's mini haul and review. I have recently been shopping a lot of makeup and I am so excited to share them with you. I have another Focallure palette that I wanna talk about and share some of the eye looks that I have created. I might also post my Pan That Palette 2019 update next week, so stay tuned for that. I hope you this today's post and will visit again someday. I will talk to you next week. Have a nice day! XOXO

Hello! How are you, guys? The past couple of months have been hectic for me, especially last month, since I have traveled to abroad for a short vacation. For today's post, I'm gonna talk about this Jacky and Lauren Cosmetics Rose Gold Highlighter Palette that I got as a Christmas gift last year. I have seen this palette since last year December at Robinson's Department Store and this caught my eye. I have planned on buying this to try and make a review, but my friend gave this to me so I didn't buy one.

Upon receiving this makeup palette, I have notice that on the back on box it says that are 2 bronzers, 2 blushes and 2 highlighters which got me confused since it clearly says on the lid that it's a highlighter palette. What? These are all shimmer powder products and none these qualifies for a bronzer nor blusher. I know that this a generic brand that was manufactured in China, but can they clear this up so the consumers won't get confused?

Anyway, the packaging of this palette is made from plastic; the lid is a transparent plastic material with holographic print, the pans are glued on this dusty mauve plastic base. Each of the highlighter weighs 4.5 grams which makes a total of 27 grams. Not bad for highlighter palette, eh? This palette costs Php 399 and each is around Php 67. The price isn't bad either!

Most of these shades will suit medium to dark skin tones with warm undertone. I have tested all of these one by one on my cheek bones and they look like subtle glow instead of a blinding highlight. I'm kind of disappointed regarding this matter since I had high hopes that I will blind people with these babies. Haha!

The formula of this is more of a shimmery highlight, thick consistency, a little bit powdery, and emphasizes pores and fine lines. I think this would look really stunning on people with amazingly flawless skin. I still think that this palette is good since it suits my light warm skin stone and I get to experiment what shade suits well with a certain look that I'm wearing as of the moment. This doesn't last all through out the day on my face but is still is a decent formula though.

There are 6 shades on this palette; a white, a light pink, a pinky rose gold, a pink with purple shift (yay for unicorn-ish glow!), a more on the gold rose gold, and a golden peach. Haha! I apologize for the horrible shade description, you know I'm not good at this. Haha! Out of the 6, my favorite would be the pinky rose gold shade and it's the one that I always use. That shade is perfect for work and is the one that shows up on my skin.

I also tried the unicorn-ish shade and it also looks good on my skin. I don't use it everyday though because I don't want to enter our office looking like a unicorn licked my cheeks! Haha! Please forgive my cheesy lines today. :D

I think that I can mix the white highlight with the darker shades in order for them to show up on my skin. I tried the pink shade but it didn't show up on my skin; it looked like a shimmery muted pink blush. The golden peach shade also looks subtle on my skin. I told you guys, this palette if for the medium to dark skin tones.

Wearing the pinky rose gold highlight

Wearing the golden rose gold (LOL!)

Here's a picture of my niece wearing that golden rose gold highlight. She has a medium skin tone and it looks good on her! I did her makeup when we modeled for the gowns we currently have for rent on our mini boutique. I did not shave her brows because it looks good on its own. She's just 12 years old but I made her look like 20. Isn't she pretty? <3 p="">

Do I recommend this palette? First of all, if you have already a lot of highlighters, you don't this one. Although this a limited edition, I don't think that it will add value to a large makeup collection. If you are starting at makeup and and is just practicing, I suggest you should get this palette. I still see this on Robinson's Department Store, so I guess just buy it while the supply lasts. The price point in total isn't that affordable, but if you have to think about it, you are getting 6 shades which costs around Php 67 each.

This formula isn't the greatest I have ever tried, but as I said earlier, it's a decent one. You cannot blind people with these if you are expecting for drama. If you are looking for subtle highlighters and you have medium or dark skintone, this is a good palette for you.

I hope you enjoyed this post even though it's more chill and chatty than my usual reviews. I am so relaxed right now that I'm feeling a little bit my self this year. I hope this approach won't be bothersome and you would still read my posts. Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by. I will post a mini haul and review regarding a local makeup brand tomorrow. Please stay tuned. Have a great weekend! <3 p="" xoxo="">
