Delightful Illusions

Happy November! First post of the month! Yay. :) Have you visited your loved ones who already passed away? By the way, how's everybody's Halloween? Did you enjoy? Lucky you. I have actually never attended a Halloween Party in my 21 years of existence here on earth. Haha! I was supposed to but I'm currently busy right now and on the upcoming days. It was our "babang-luksa" on the 3rd. My classes will start this Saturday and I'm so excited to be at school again. :) Anyways, it is the time of  the month (a little bit later) for me to talk about my monthly favorites. I don't have a lot of stuff for October since I have been using the same products. There's no need to be redundant in discussing about products because I'm pretty sure you already get my point, right? This would be my shortest favorites post yet. If you are interested with the items that I'm about to show, then just keep on reading.

October Favorites

Purederm Make-up Cleasing Wipes with Aloe Extract

The best makeup wipes I've ever used in my entire life. It removes all of the makeup on my face, even waterproof ones. It leaves my skin feeling clean, like I just washed my face. It's moisturizing and smells good. The best thing about this is that it does not break me out. It contains natural ingredients such as aloe vera, lemon extract, cornflower, Ginkgo biloba, ginseng and Vitamin E. It seems to be safe for acne-prone skin. I recommend this to everybody, regardless of your skin type. I bought this at SM Department Store Beauty Section  for a pack two. Could also be found at Watsons.

Nichido Foundation Stick in Ivory

This has been doing wonders on my under eye dark circles for the past few months. I use this as a concealer rather than as a foundation. It's creamy, blendable and stays all day long. It has a peachy tone which is great for covering up dark circles. It's the shade "Ivory", which is supposed to be on the yellow category. But, I'm not complaining since the product is great. I thank Ning Hilario, Beauty Editor / JR Art Director of Meg, for featuring a similar product on the July issue. Hers was a concealer stick, I couldn't find one so I opted for the foundation. Check this out if you are looking for a good concealer.

Daiso Diamond Eyes in Purple

The brow powder is superb match for my Etude House Easy Brow Pencil (Dark Grey), which was featured on my June Favorites. The combination gives my brows a polished grooming; it looks natural on me. As I have mentioned before, I have medium-toned brows. Gray is definitely my go-to color for this part of my face. These two products are the bomb as they do not irritate my skin and stay on place for a long time.

Victoria's Secret Such A Flirt Fragrance Mist

This is one of my top fragrances from Victoria's Secret. This has fresh and floral notes; it's fruity, sweet, non-citrus and tropical. This contains starfruit and white orchid. The blends are incredible and nothing that is overwhelming. It reminds me of adolescence. I'm obsessed with the scent; feeling like I could use this forever and will not get sick of it. How I wish they would formulate a perfume version of this. I would definitely buy! I recommend getting this. :)

Meg magazine

Before I end this post, I would just love to inform you that my tweet was published on Meg magazine on the last month's issue. I was surprised and extremely ecstatic.:D  Oh my goodness! Thank you so much Meg!

And that's it for my October Favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Comments really enlightens me and are always replied back. More posts coming, Have a nice day. Stay safe! XOXO

Hello, guys! How are you? I have been busy the past couple of weeks, from family events to school matters. I have also done some repainting of furniture on my room, I have redecorated it. I also shopped for Christmas decorations for our home. Holidays is in the atmosphere! Hoping I could blog about it soon.  I'm really sorry for the inactivity, I really do. :)

Hoop earrings have been in trends for an endless time. They are popular from then until now; very fashionable and looks classy. They give a polished look in almost any outfit they are matched with. I have collected a lot of these way back during my college days. Unfortunately, I lost most of them and these are what's left on my collection. I used to buy plain silver hoops, but then I've seen daring ones from various people so I bought different styles. I was inspired by JoJo to wear hoops, she's one of my fashion inspirations actually.

I got this black pair at Broadway Gems for Php 20 a few years ago. Michelle Phan was my inspiration for this; she was a wearing black hoop at her Mascara Business Card Trick video. It rocked on her so I looked one for myself. I couldn't find a round one so I opted for this flower-shaped pair. By the way, MP rocks back then. I don't watch her videos anymore. :(

These blue hoops are from Shop and Match. If I'm not mistaken, this was around Php 12. I got this pair during the summertime. Thought this was really cute because of the chain attached to it. There were other colors available but this was the most appealing to me. Perfect for the beach.

These next two pairs are from the brand Angelina; it was available at Robinson's Department (Iloilo) back then. I think this was Php 50 each. I bought these way back in 2011. These are thicker than usual hoops, giving a retro vibe. I got them in hot pink and red. I haven't actually used the red one still. Haha! :)

I got this recently at Ingmar (Marymart Mall). I lost all of my silver hoops so I bought a new one. I love the width and style. Perfect for casual and special occasions. My obsession this month.

This pair was from Jellybean, was originally Php 199 down to Php 50. Isn't that amazeballs? This has faux Swarovski colorful stones. It's thicker than usual. One of my favorites from this collection. Perfect for special occasions.

This is the most amazing hoops earring I ever owned! It looks classy, not trashy. The dangling flower chains are gorgeous. I just wish I got this as a genuine gold jewelry. This pair was from Forever 21, from Php 285 down to Php 99. I remember Britney Spears wearing something like this at her I'm A Slave 4 U music video. Her hoops is even more fabulous. Check the video. :)

This pair is some sort of like a Tibetan / Bohemian inspired. I cannot exactly explain what this is. It looks fab but I haven't worn this yet. Haha! I need more inspirations. This was also from Shop&Match.

That's all for this collection. If you want to see these earring worn one by one, check my Instagram account. My links are listed on the sidebar and below this post. I gave away half of my accessories because it's trashing my room. I've done some cleaning a few months ago. I'm considering collecting genuine jewelry for investments. What do you think guys? I have a product empties post coming up. Thank you so much for reading. Talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO

A Blessed Sunday to all of you! There's a lot of things that I'm so grateful about. How was your week, guys? Anyways, here's another money-saving DIY project. It's just simple and really easy to make. I'm pretty much sure you have most of these material at your homes. This is really useful if you need a lot of bookmarks but doesn't want to spend much. If you want to know how did I made these, just keep on reading. I hope you give this a try. :)

Materials Needed:

A pair of scissors.

Empty boxes.

Decorative tapes. You can buy these at any supplies or crafts stores.

Yarn as the marker. You can also use paper twines and any thing that you would want to use as a marker.

Puncher.

Steps:

1. Open the upper and bottom part of the box.

2. Cut out the front and back label of the box. This will serve as the body.

3. Punch a hole on the upper center of the body.

4. Put tapes on each side of the body. This will make the body sturdy and will prevent any tearing. You can do it the other way around for a neater appearance. Put the tape first and punch it.

5. Cut a fair amount of yarn, or any thing you want to use as a marker.

6. Fold the marker evenly. Insert the loop on the body's hole. Follow what's shown in the image.

6. Insert the lower part of the marker on the loop. Pull it until it's already tight. And it's done!

7. This part is optional. If you don't want a plain and boring bookmark, decorate the body with stickers. Just be creative in making designs. =)

I got 10 new bookmarks. Yay!

I made these way back in July.

Lots of bookmarks. I'm in love with these! :)

How was the DIY? Did you like it? Let me know. Comments really enlighten. Please send me a picture if you tried these. I wanna see your versions. Sorry, I'm in a hurry. I still have to attend a mass. Have a nice day. Stay safe. God Bless! :) XOXO

Magandang araw sa inyong lahat! (Good day to all of you!) :D Today, I will be reviewing this lipstick from Careline, the Magic Lipstick in Avatar. I promised to do a review on this lippy at my September Favorites 2013. So here it is. As I have said before, I saw this first on Meg magazine (Meg Promotions section). They have been promoting Careline products for a few months now. I was intrigued on this particular line, it seemed so promising. Plus, it looked gorgeous on Erich Gonzales (one of their brand ambassadors). I don't why I was so eager to try this, considering that I don't buy from the said brand and their mother company. This was new to my eyes, though this might be released last year. I could be late for the bandwagon. Anyways, if you want to know my opinions and experience on this lipstick, just keep on reading. =)

Product

The products itself is the bomb. My lips feel so moisturized every time I put this on. It's smooth and glossy, as if you I'm gliding a jelly ace on my lips. As I apply it, I noticed that it adjusts on the natural color of my lips. It supposed to be a deep pink, but on me it transforms to a hot pink shade with a light tint of fuchsia. Just one swipe and you're good to go. For a much vibrant effect, go for two swipes. I usually don't use a lip gloss over this because it's already creamy and has already a little bit of sheen. This isn't shimmery, it's just a solid color. The long lasting power is incredible. I already ate my snacks, dinner and brushed my teeth and the tint hasn't came off yet. It lasts all day long. I still have a tint of this on my puckers when I sleep. My cleansing wipes can't take off all of this on my lips. This is even long lasting than the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. That's how crazy this baby is. I didn't notice any reactions when I used this. This smells like a strawberry.

Packaging

My only complaint on this item is the packaging. The cover has already cracked. I'm afraid I'll have to depot this on a jar if the cover will totally break. The container is made of plastic, which might also break if I continue to carry this around all the time.

Price

The price of this product is way too cheap in terms of its power. I suggest they should make a new and better packaging. I wouldn't mind spending Php 150 if that's what will happen.

Verdict

Basing on my experience, I would say that this is the best lipstick I have in terms of formulation and staying power. If it has a better packaging, I'll even buy the other shades.

Hello! I've finally found a time for this blog. Yay! As I have said before, I'm busy working my way to the Graduate School. I went back to the university yesterday and a good news came in. I was exempted for the interview because I got an above average score on the entrance exam. Oh my goodness! I made it! This is one of the happiest days of my life! I'm so proud of my self. :) I'm not being haughty, okay? It's just I wanted to share the good news. Then, I also got a job interview last Saturday and it went well. I think that I might be able to get the job. :)

Anyways, I'll be doing a haul post. Since I have done fashion posts the previous month, I decided to give more attention to beauty products this time.  I have accumulated a lot of stuff recently from various stores. I got some makeup items, hair stuff and nail lacquers. Some of these were purchased last month. Without further talking, I'll show you now the products.

I went to Watson's a few weeks ago just to check out what's new on the store. I was browsing the hair section and I saw this hair lotion for curly or permed hair. It was from Monea, called Curl Defining Milk Hair Lotion. I picked it up to try if it's good too. I thought to give it a try because this sounds promising, thinking that this would be better better because it has milk. Besides, I'm already running low on my Dove Damage Therapy Curl and Sculpt Defining Mousse. I've already tried this and I have mixed feelings about this. I will review if I have formulated my firm and final judgment on this. As I have said before, my hair is permed. I have post all about it in here: Daily Products for My Permed Hair.

Monea Curl Defining Milk Hair Lotion / Php 99
Then, I also got a skincare product. It's the RDL Clarifying Toner. This was the only toner I could find on the face section. I don't buy toner usually because I already have loads of stuff for my face. I decided to buy again because my skin needs a little help, it's been drying lately (though I have a oily skin). I was surprised when I opened the box because product is in a neon pink color. A little bit scary for a drugstore product. I thought that this would my skin because of the cheap price, but it didn't. I have been loving this since I tried it. This baby would most probably on my October Favorites.

RDL Clarifying Toner / Php 36.75
A week and a half has passed, I went to another Watson's store to check some of their nail polish. I think I'm becoming more obsessed with nail polish than I do with makeup. Is that a good thing? Or is it scary? Anyways, I didn't find anything that amazed with so picked up two blue nail colors and a top coat, also in blue, from the brand My Polish. The brand is new to me, so I decided to try their lacquers and see if I'll like them. The color payoff isn't that great. It comes off sheer, 3 coats for opacity. I don't know if I'll get products from the brand again.

My Polish Nail Polish in Neon Blue / Php 16
My Polish Top Coat / Php 16

After my trip from Watson's, I headed to Saizen. It's a Japanese all-in-one store selling all of their items from Php 88. I was debating to my self whether to get a makeup item or not. Most of their stuff were from Taiwan which seems really odd and doubtful. Meaning that people will not be getting Japanese quality because their items were manufactured in Taiwan. But, I found my self buying an eye shadow palette in purple shades. I particularly bought it for the gray eyebrow powder that came with it. I don't use brown shades for my brows. The shadows are chalky, glittery and sheer. That's okay because it was cheap. Haha!

Diamond Eye Shadow and Eyebrow in Purple / Php 88
My last stop at the mall was HBC. If you don't know, I'm one of their members. :) I wanted to purchase a lippy in a lighter shade. As you have noticed, I have been using bold colors the past month. I wanted something toned down and isn't dramatic. I was swatching their testers on my hand when I stumbled upon this peachy nude lipstick. I immediately purchased it because it was the most beautiful nude lip color I've ever seen. Something that isn't pink. It has SPF too. Cool! It looks dark on the picture. My camera didn't pick the color well.

San San Age Defense Lipstick in 03 / Php 109
The last products I got are also nail polish. Okay, I'm getting crazy. Haha! Anyways, I bought these from a local boutique here in our town. I forgot the name of the shop. Geez, Sylden. Haha! I didn't find anything exciting at the store until I saw their nail polish rack. I instantly browsed it and got 3. All of them are in the shades of green. They were made in China. They don't have names. I'll have the swatch of the last one on my Instagram account. My feed's on the sidebar.

That's it for my haul. Did find anything interesting? Do you have any products that you want me to try? Let me know. I hope you enjoyed reading this post. More upcoming posts, I promise. Thank you so much for reading. Talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Stay safe. :D
