Delightful Illusions

Ola! ^_^ The time has come for me to talk about my monthly favorites. Did anyone notice how September flew by faster than the previous months? I'm feeling lost. Haha! Anyways, how's your September? Mine's pretty stressful I was exhausted by the first two weeks of the month and my mind was drained because of the tasks that was given to me. I'm not feeling well right now because of a growing wisdom tooth. Such a pain in the ass if you ask me. Haha! Then, I have a soar throat that became a fever. I'm hoping to recover soon. Let's get started before I could blabber forever. :D

By the way, I have already contacted the winner of my giveaway. She wasn't able to claim her prizes because she didn't respond. I'll pick another winner. Check your inbox, it might be you.

Makeup

For makeup, I have some new favorites from brand I haven't tried before. I'm really excited to show them to you, guys!

Maybelline Eyestudio Marbleized Eyeshadow Duo in Mocha Mirage
Oh my goodness, this duo is fantastic! The colors compliment each other. The marbleized pink on the lids and bronze on the crease. I've never been a fan of pink eye shadows before because I think they give agitating look. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But, the pink shadow on this pan is superb. It comes out as a taupe pink with gold and silver reflex. A little bit sparkly, has some glitters. I even think that the texture is smoother than MAC's Lustre finish. More refined glitters and doesn't feel rough. The solid shade is also silky smooth. Silkier than a MAC Veluxe Pearl. The pigmentation is great and stays for a long time with a primer. This duo makes a a lazy eye look when worn alone. I've never tried Maybelline makeup products before because I was reluctant about their line. Nothing really interests me, but this Eyestudio line seems to impress. I'm intrigued about the rest of the line. I might be able to try some of their other products. I'll see. =)

MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters (Veluxe Pearl)
An old favorite. Haha! The infamous and one of the most sought after eye shadow from the beauty community. I think that everyone has this. I'm not going to talk so much about this because I'm sure that you have already heard and read about this for a million times. Am I right? This is the perfect shade for your everyday lid shadow. Not overwhelming and goes on with a lot of shades. It's buildable and versatile. I use this with the Mocha Mirage duo, giving me a polished look which pops my eyes. The shadow is beautiful on its own. This is a product worth investing your money in.

Careline Magic Lipstick in Avatar
Honestly, I never thought the day would come that I will be mentioning a Careline makeup item on any of my monthly favorites. I was really hesitant to use Ever Bilena (Careline's under them) products because my instincts told me that they have cheap quality because they're made from China. I was wrong and obviously biased on my judgment. Sorry, my bad. :| Anyways, this lippy is the bomb. Glides on the lips smoothly, it's like a jelly. Incredibly moisturizing, unbelievable staying power and has an amazing color payoff. The best thing about this? It's only Php 75. Who wouldn't want that? I saw this first on Meg magazine (Meg Promotions section) and was instantly urged to try this. I'm glad I just did. I'll make an in-depth review soon. I have so much to tell about this product. Good job, Careline! \m/

Etude House Look At My Lips Lipstick (4)
Another resurrecting favorite makeup. A basic bright baby pink shade. Smells really yummy; a combination of peaches and mangoes. This is a lip color that you usually see on Korean actresses. I've seen Song Hye Kyo applying a similar lip color on Full House (Korean drama). The shade was really appealing to me so I bought a similar one. I failed to put in my mind that we have different undertones and the color might not work on me. This washes out my skin color when worn alone on my lips. Since I don't want to waste this, I put this on top of Careline's Avatar to have a pop of pink on my look. I feel like I'm a Barbie doll with this combination. Actually, I don't apply lip gloss most of the times on this combo because both of them are moisturizing. This is the only lip combo I've worn the previous month.

Ever Bilena Advance HD Waterproof Mascara in Rich Black
Quite big, huh? Unusual size for a drugstore mascara. Honestly speaking, there's nothing HD on this product. Isn't dramatic at all. I don't know why it's labelled as "HD". When I apply this on my lashes, it looks just like a regular waterproof mascara. The only thing I love about this is that the longer you use this product it becomes clump-free. It's long lasting and doesn't get messy even if it's still wet. It lengthens and separates lashes well. I think it's a good everyday go-to mascara.

Fashion

If you have been reading my blog for the past few months, you have probably noticed that I always wear gold accessories and pieces of jewelry. The past month has been different. I've worn silver ones a lot. I guess my love for silver has occurred again.

Love Necklace
Super love this necklace.Looks good on any outfit that I wear. A dainty pendant necklace with faux diamonds. Nice fashion jewelry for everyday wear. I got this from Shop and Match.

FENDI Watch
This is an authentic second hand watch that I bought from my aunt. I bought this for only Php 3000, way cheaper than the original price. This has been with me for two years now and the battery hasn't drained yet. The metal straps has holes to make it adjustable. This is great for me considering I have thin wrists. This is like a bracelet watch. Can be paired with other arm candies.

Nails

San San Nail Polish in Purple Breeze
The only nail lacquer that occupied my nails the previous month. This one received a lot of love from me already. I will not say much about this product because this was featured on my last blog post. If you want to find out more about this baby, check this post: NOTW: Purple Fantasy.

Bath Essentials

Head & Shoulders in Apple Fresh
The only anti-dandruff shampoo that satisfy my needs. It effectively cleanses my hair; removes itchiness, greasiness and makes my scalp feel refreshed. The smell is yummy, like a freshly picked green apple. I cannot recall exactly when did I start using Head and Shoulders. This a staple product of my life.

Quite a lengthy post, I would say. I want to make it up to you, my darlings. I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I'm currently working for my entrance on Graduate School. I've already taken the entrance examination and I'm waiting for the schedule of the interview. I'm nervous and excited! =D

Don't worry, more upcoming posts. If you have any requests, please let me know. One more thing, my Instagram account is active again. If you want to follow, my links are listed down below. Thank you so much for reading. Talk to you soon. Have a nice day. :) XOXO

Ola! :D Here's another Nail of The Week post. I'm apologizing for being quite the past few days. Appointments and duties are stressing me. I've never been so exhausted. This month is entirely tiresome. I need some vitamins. Anyways, how are you guys? I've seen in the news on what happened to Zambales. There was a landslide and 20 plus people were killed. My condolences to their families. Stay safe, guys.

Anyways, I cute my nails short. I think having long nails is not so hygienic at all. The back of my nails get dirty everyday, and that's just really gross. So decided to go back to my short nails. Besides, short nails make you look younger.

This week, I decided to wear the Purple Breeze Nail Polish from San San again because I can't get enough of it. It's a purple pastel shade in. It makes my nails pop. It kinda looks like neon baby pink but when you stare at it for a while, you would see that it's a purple color. I have this feeling that this would be my number one most used nail lacquer from San San. I'm sorry, Blue Sapphire. Hehe.

Then, I tried to spice this polish with a shimmery duo-chrome lilac color. And oh my goodness, it stands out even more. Isn't this the prettiest? Reminds me of a princess. Really girly! I could wear this forever. No, I'm not kidding.

Eye-catching and super reflective.

Lilac Pearl Nail Polish from San San.

The finished look. Please excuse the messiness. I'll clean my nails later. I was just excited to post this. ^_^

Hello! How's everyone doing? It's chilly here. Again. Because of the upcoming storm next week. Anyways, I just want to post about some sort of a flashback, like a Flashback Friday. This is a look that I posted from my previous blog, Mistaken Glance. Since I don't have any beauty post this month, I thought of re-posting this look. I hope you like it and give it a try. :)

My first makeup tutorial ever. I am apologizing in advance for some flaws you will be seeing in my tutorial. I am not a professional makeup artist nor a makeup student so please bare with me. This is a simple look. I hope you'll like this. ;D For this look, I will be using the G-Lish Colour Pot in Mystique. You can use similar shades containing this pan.

Before putting any makeup, make sure to apply moisturizer. After doing so, apply your favorite foundation, conceal your flaws and pat a setting powder on your face. Sorry for the undone eyebrows. Hehe.
  • Click the images for a larger view.
  1. Put an eye shadow primer.
  2. Apply the pale pink shade, which serves as the base color, all over the lids.
  3. Put the pale violet shade over the pale pink shade for some sort of lavender shade.

   3.  Take the berry shade and gently pat it on half of the lid to the outer thirds. Then, extend it up to the crease.  Use a pencil shaped makeup brush for contouring. Blend the shadow in the crease with an angled eye makeup brush. 4. Then apply the dark  plumy eggplant shade and pat it on the outer thirds up to the crease. Then blend the shades with an angled eye makeup brush. 5. Use the pale pink eye shadow as an eyeliner for the water line.

 6. Take the berry shade again and smudge a little under you waterline. I used a flat eyeliner brush to do thin line.
 7. Use the sheer white shade to highlight the brow bones and put some at inner corners of your eyes.
 8. Then apply a black eyeliner on the upper lash line. I used a powder liner so it's not vivid. You always have the options for eyeliners.

  9. Finally, apply a mascara, put some blush on and lipstick. I used a sheer pinky peach blush and coral lipstick and topped it with a nude lipgloss. Here is the finished look...

Products I used for this look...
Face - The Face Shop Arsainte Eco Therapy Ice Line Super Gel, Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation in Gold, Oraganic Wear Pressed Powder in Translucent Light, Elf  Face Stick, Nichido Final Powder in So Natural, Elf Studio Golden Bronzer and Elf Studio Contour and Blushing Compact
Eyes - Elf Eyelid Primer,  G-Lish Colour Pot in Mystiques, Revlon Shadow/Liner in Naturally Glamorous and Clinique Doubling Effect Mascara
Lips - Revlon Lustrous Lipstick in Rosedew and Revlon Lustrous Lip gloss in Nude Lustre.
Please excuse my messy hair and oily face. I was in a hurry to this and it was really hot when I shot these photos. If you have any suggestion for improvement, hit the comment box. Opinions and suggestions are always welcome. If you tried this look, please post a picture on Delightful Illusions' Fan Page, click here.

Did you like the look? Would you try it? Let me know. Thank you so much for reading. Talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO

Ola! :D I'm excited for today's post. It's a DIY (Do-it-yourself). Yay! A reader actually requested for a project and it was in a perfect timing because I'm currently decorating my room. Well, it's more actually of spicing up. Since I'm not yet finished with it, I decided to take pictures and show them here in my blog so I could give some ideas. It's just really simple, no hard force needed. Just patience and imagination. Doesn't cost much, just a little for some materials. :)

Today, I will be showing my current project on my room. It's a fashion and beauty wall. What it is? Basically, it's a wall full of fashion and beauty related cut outs from old magazines. It's like my compilation of favorite outfits, looks, products, ads from brands, quotations, tips and more. Like doing a collage on the side wall of my closet. My mom doesn't allow me to post anything on my room's wall. So, my closet's the perfect substitute. Haha! Actually, I started this way back in 2011 but wasn't able to finish it because I got lazy. :D I'm apologizing in advance for the not so clear pictures because I have no source of natural lighting in my room. I had to use flash. Let's start now.

Materials:

Old magazines. The ones you don't read that much anymore.

A pair of scissors and a double-sided tape. (It's better than glue).

Steps:

  • First, cut out images that you would like to use. It could be your favorite products, looks, outfits, tips, just anything. Plan ahead on what your collage would look like.

  • Then, cut a a fair length of the tape. Just enough to support your image so it won't fall off easily. Part in to two. You'll save a lot of tape if you do this.

  • Lastly, remove the white paper that covers the other side of the tape and the images as you have planned. Use your creativity in making the collage. Please be careful in making this, especially if you have high wall like mine. You might need someone to assist you.

I love Revlon, Marc Jacobs and Mango.

The left picture's an ad for Louis Vuitton. One of my fashion inspirations.

More fashion tips.

Bright accessories rock! \m/

An overview of my fashion and beauty wall.

Yeah, my wall's not yet finished. I say, 80% done. I'll update and post a picture once I finish it. Did you like this? Would you try it? Please let me know about your thoughts on this one. That would greatly appreciated. Any requests? Tell me, I'll work on it. Thank you so much for reading, people. Have a great day. Always stay safe. :D XOXO

I'm not being compensated to show the magazines. Purchased them myself.

Hello, there! How's your weekdays going on? Mine's pretty much busy. If you have read my previous post (OOTD: 09/15/13), then you know that I was at San Jose, Antique last weekend. I attended my nephew's birthday party and baptism. I also mentioned on my last post that I went to their Gaisano for some sale shopping since I can't go to SM Iloilo. That would be a 2 hours and 30 minutes drive.

The past week was like a sale week because most of the malls I know had a 3-day sale (13,14,15). I wanted to buy some clothing stuff but didn't have the chance to have a shopping trip at any mall. Luckily, San Jose had a Gaisano. I told my granny if could just see what's inside the mall before we head home. As we went to the Department Store, I was amazed by the clothes they have on stock. They're all trendy and of good quality. Not like the ones you see at RTW stores.

I was in search for a pair of flats that will match any outfit when I stumbled upon this glittery shoes. It has a somewhat like a fish net detailing at both sides. It's comfortable to the feet. What's nice about this is that it's glued well and won't easily fall apart. I know a made-well shoes when I see one (I learned a lot from my experiences). Can you believe that this is just Php 199? Yeah, not kidding. Actually,  most of their flats are Php 199. I was even more surprised when I found out that most of their fashion items at the department have a discount of 10%. Isn't that awesome?

After getting the shoes, I strolled around the dress section. I was scanning the dresses and their prices (yeah, that's just so me) , when I saw this navy blue lace dress with open shoulder top and high-low bottom for only Php 319. But then, I only paid Php 287.10 because of the 10% discount. Exciting! I have tried this on and looks good on me. The wing-like sleeves cover my arms perfectly and the cut-out accentuates my broad shoulders. I plan on wearing this during Christmas. I still can't find it in my heart to wear red colored clothes because I'm still saddened by my papa's death (I miss my old man so much, yesterday was his 1st death anniversary). :(

Moving on, I bought another high-low dress in a light brown chiffon fabric with Aztec print. Finally, I went for something in trend. Haha! I usually gravitate on simple and basic prints. I like this a lot, it fits perfectly. The top isn't baggy and the zigzag stripes doesn't emphasize my broad physique. The bottom part is pleated. The band cinches my waist. I think the glittery shoes and this dress will look cute together. What do you think, guys? This was originally Php 299, marked down to Php 269.10. Amazing, eh?

This last fashion item is my highest score on this shopping trip. I was about to pay my purchases when I passed by on a rack of purses. My eyes caught this authentic Mango purse in green. It was originally Php 1495, marked down to Php199. To be sure, I checked the inside details. I jaw dropped when I found that this was genuine. My cousin has a similar sling purse also from MNG and the lining inside is a floral cloth. It still has the price tag in Euro. Without any second thoughts, I bought this. I wouldn't let the opportunity pass. Haha! What do you think of the bag? I think this would also match the Aztec dress and the glittery shoes.

Lastly, I got a set of hair ties. They didn't have a discount. I still got them because my instinct told me that they're in a good quality. Haha!

All in all, my total bill was only Php 993. For five items! If my calculation is correct, I saved Php 1379. A huge saving! Oh yeah! I'm so proud of my self. *Taps my back. Haha! This made me so enlightened. :D

We went to SM yesterday and I did a little shopping. I'll post a picture of my mini haul on my page. I'll put my links below. I hope you'll check my page. I always update it with pictures. Did you enjoy my haul? Let me know. Also, if you have a similar post, don't hesitate to leave your link. I'll check and read yours. Thank you so much for reading. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO
