Delightful Illusions

Hey, guys! How's everybody? I've been work, as usual, and didn't have any spare time to do makeup tutorials. It's been two months since I have updated you with my Pan That Palette Challenge, but I have posting a lot of updates on Instagram (@pansbysylden). This my second update and I can say I made a lot of progress for the past 6 months that I have consistently used this palette. For those of you who are wondering what palette is this, this is the Sleek Oh So Special Eyeshadow Palette. This is the oldest palette in my makeup collection that's why I have decided to pan this palette for 2019. I love this palette so much and I am not getting tired of this yet. If you are curious as to what this palette looks like now, just keep on reading. :)

April 24, 2019
This is what the palette looked like since my last update. As you can see, I have hit pan on the majority of matte shades. I love matte shadows and I think I might finish the 3 brown shades on this quarter of the year.

June 30, 2019
And this is what my palette looked like as of June 30. I have no new pans to show but I have made an enormous progress on all of the shadows. I am so close to finishing the cream shade and the light brown shade. I have been using one of the dark brown shadow on my brows and I can say that I like it because it is the right tone for my hair color. I have also managed to create dips on the dark purple and lavender shadows. I am so positive that I will hit pan on these shadows this month. I can feel it! :) I also love the coral shade as a crease shade because it gives a fiery vibe to boring eye looks and I am quite surprised that it pairs well with the blue gray shadow. I love how I can create various looks with this color scheme. I don't have any specific goal for next update since I am still going with flow and find that technique to be effective for this project. It's just like telling me to let my creative juices flow and enjoy challenge.

I have devised a tracking system on this challenge and it was been really helpful to keep a watch on my progress. Since my last update, I have used this palette 40 times. I am quite proud of my self because I was consistently using this palette and I have paired this with other palettes in order for the monotonous routine not to be boring. For more specificity, I have used cream 33 times, shimmery pink 23 times, matte baby pink 12 times, and lavender 16 times since my last update.

I have used coral 14 times, bronze 6 times, matte light brown 29 times, and matte dark brown 33 times since last update.

For the last quadrant, I have used shimmery blue grey 6 times, dark purple 14 times, taupe brown 20 times, and black 7 times since my last update. I really don't give much attention to this blue grey shadows yet since I really don't like this as a lid shade. I am trying to find ways on how to utilize this shade more and this might be the last shadow that I hit pan on this challenge. I might grab matte grey shadows  from other palettes to pair with this shadow. I am hoping to have new pans by the next update since the 2nd quarter of the year has come and I haven't finish any shadow yet. Good luck to us!

To spice things up a little bit, I have decided to merge this challenge with a different challenge called the Pan Those Eyeshadows. It is basically a challenge where you pick random eyeshadows and hit pan on them. After you have hit pan on a particular shadow, you can pull it out of the project and select another shadow that you haven't hit pan on yet. It is a roulette style and a lot of panners on the YouTube community does it. It is one way to force yourself to use shadows you might have been neglecting, or it could be a way to create color combinations you might not normally combine. It's a fun idea and I would like to inject it on my Pan That Palette so I won't get bored easily of my project.

I used a random generator to pick two shadows that I will include in this project. I have typed the shade names on Excel all of my shadows and all of them have a designated specific number. The generator drawn numbers 14 and 45. Number 14 on my list is this Caramel shade from I Heart Makeup Semi-Sweet Eyeshadow Palette. It is a muted gold shadow that I think would incorpate well with the bronze and brown shadows from the Oh So Special Palette. This is a lid shade and I think I might not hit pan on this any time soon. I'll  try to use this on my inner corners and mix with other shadows on my lower lash line.

The last shadow I have drawn is this satin white shadow which is number 45 on my list. This shadow is from the Essence All About Chocolates Palette. To be honest, I am also not sure if I can hit pan on this shadow soon since I have two base eyeshadows that I use to set my primer in the Oh So Special Palette. Haha! I feel so lucky! (laughing in a sarcastic tone)

That's my overall progress for this project. As I have said, I still love using this palette everyday and I am still enjoying this project. I might change the rules for my Pan Those Eyeshadows if I don't see any visible progress. Anyway, how are you doing with your Pan That Palette Challenge 2019? I hope you are doing great. If you have any tips or trick on how to do this project quickly, please share those on us by leaving a comment. I love sharing ideas and learning new things! Okay, this is it for now. I hope you are all doing great. I will talk to you soon. Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay safe. I love you all! :)

Hi! :) It's been two months since I have given my last update on this year's Pan That Palette Challenge. This update is going to be exciting because I'll show two more of the shadow I have it pan on the last two months. You know what this means? I'll be working on just two shadows only! Yay! I'm so happy that I have hit pan on 4 shadows for 4 months of continued usage of the palette. :) Hard work and focus does really pay off. If you are interested on this update, just keep on reading.

Shade 1 - I have finally hit the pan on this shimmery white shadow. Oh my goodness! This eyeshadow has surprisingly broader pan than the gold eyeshadow beside it. I have using this as my inner corner highlight often, maybe that's why I've hit pan on it so quickly. I have reached my goal for this shadow! Yay! :) I won't be touching this shadow for quite a while because I want to focus on another light shade included in this palette that you will see later.

Shade 2 - I haven't used this gold shade that much for the past two months because I was focusing on shadows that I haven't reached the pan yet. There's a little bit of progress though; the pan got a little wider and the bottom got a flatter. This eyeshadow has a lot of glitter chunks and fallout, for your information. I dip my brush into this shadow, spritz a generous amount of face mist, and tap this on the top of my lid color. This looks gorgeous as an eyeshadow topper. My goal for this month is just to keep using on this product.

Shade 3 - I have used this pale green shade on my inner corners the past month and looked it so nice. This shadow is subtler than the first shadow I have talked about. This is the hardest shade to work on this palette because it so sheer, and doesn't really have a nice pigmentation. I don't know how I'll be able to hit pan on this shadow just yet. Maybe use as an eyeshadow topper as well? Haha! My goal for this month is to have a deeper dip.

Shade 4 - Another green eyeshadow that seems to be really hard on hitting the pan. This isn't a poorly pigmented shadow; this so pigmented that have to be careful on using this on my outer-V or lower lash line because it give a lot of smokiness to the eyes. I want to use this a as main lid shadow but I think that this is way too much for everyday makeup. This eyeshadow would be good for parties and events, just not on for everyday wearable look. Anyways, there's a dip going on this shadow and I'm hoping to have hit pan on this by the next update.

Shade 5 - Another successful goal! I have flatten the surface of this taupey-pink shadow and widen the pan. I have cleared the cracks on the surface and used a ton of this eyeshadow for the past two months. This shadow is so beautiful on lids; it makes my brown eyes pop and glowing. This one of the unique shades in my life and I'm just don't wanna use it up yet because I still enjoy this shadow.

Shade 6 - I have not touched this olive green shadow in a while because I focused on the ones I haven't hit pan on yet.

Shade 7 - I was just supposed to have deeper dent on this shadow, but I have actually hit pan on this. This is so crazy! Haha! This a beautiful blue shadow; I use this on my outer-v and lower lash line most of the times to give my eye looks some accent. I intend on using this eyeshadow as an overall lid shade in the near future.

Shade 8 - There's nothing special here because I haven't used this a lot because I have already hit the pan last year.

This what the palette looks like from the last update...

...and this is what the palette looks right now. Quite a progress, huh?

That's my update for the past couple of months. My major goal is to hit pan on the two shadow s remaining. I have other project going on and that includes another eyeshadow palette. I'm currently focusing on finishing the other palette. It's June and I have still 6 months on these eyeshadows. I don't plan on finishing the entire palettes; I just plan on finishing 4 shades (if possible). I'm enjoying this challenge and I think that I'm doing good so far.

If you have any questions, requests, or suggestions, please tell me on the comments section. :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read and browse this blog. I hope you enjoyed the update and stay tuned for the next. I hope you are having a great day. Stay safe. XOXO

Hey, guys! I'm back with Update No. 2 on my Products I Want To Use Up in 2016 Project which I started on January. I promised to give updates every other month and that's what I'm doing right now. On my last update (Update # 1), you have seen that there was not a lot of progress. Now, there's a lot of things going on and I'm just so excited to finish this project successfully. I'm really happy to see the determination and perseverance I currently have because of doing this project. :) This is a project that I have been doing since it surfaced on the beauty community, but I always fail because of negligence. This year is different though; I'm actually focusing on these products without getting tired of them. :)

Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape - This lisptick is so hard to beat. I use this almost all the time but I feel like I'm not making any progress. Can I really finish this as the year ends? I don't know. Haha! I love how pigmented this is and has a thick creamy consistency. I hope to show a good progress on my next update.

Clinique Different Lisptick in Shy - Just like the other lipstick I showed above, I am having a hard time in finishing this one too. No matter how many times I apply this, it seems like I'm not using it at all. Haha! Do you have any lipstick hacks or ways on how to use up a lipstick faster? Please let me know. :) I hope to finish this by the end of the year as well.

Nichido Foundation Stick in Ivory - As I was browsing my last update post, I have seen that I made some progress with this product. It seems like I used a centimeter in two months. Yay! My goal for the next two months is to use half of this. I'm so excited! :)

Elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink - The pan is getting wider. On my last update, my goal for this product is to focus on the right side and have a deeper surface than the left side. I was successful in doing that. Yay! My goal for the next two months is to continue focusing on the right side and have a wider pan.

AVON Glimmerstick Cosmic Eye Liner in Galactic Green - I admit, I have not quite used this for the past two months. I have applied this on my my waterline quite a few times but I just didn't feel like using it a lot. I have been focusing on a different liner which is also included in this project which is why this liner isn't getting a lot of attention recently. My goal for the next two months is to use half of this. I hope I can that. Haha! :)

Ever Bilena Advance HD Eye Pencil in Natural Blonde - Woah! This is the most successful product in this project. On my last update, I was on top of the letter "N". Now, I'm top of the letter "D"! I consumed almost an inch of a liner in two months. I'm so amazed! I've using this is as an eyeshadow base for quite a while and I can see that it's an effective method to use up this product. :) My goal for the next two months is to completely use this up so I could focus on the AVON eyeliner.

San San Age Defense Lipstick 03 - I have been using this a lot as well but I see no progress. What is it with these lipsticks and why they are so hard to finish up? Haha! I said in my last update I will be done with this in a couple of months. I didn't come true. Haha! Anyways, my goal for the next to months is to finish this completely. *crossed fingers*

Maybelline Clear Smooth All-In-One Pressed Powder in Nude Beige - I'm so close with this one. I started with this powder in March, with just two lines showing. Now, there are 3 lines showing and a obvious wider pan. I use this as setting powder and I also bring this with me whenever I go for touch-ups. I should be finished by June or July with this powder.

Etude House Look at My Eyes Cafe in Honey Milk - There's quite a progress going on this eyeshadow. If look closely between this update and my last update's picture, you'll see that some of the hearts embossed are gone flatter. I'm trying my very best to hit the pan on this eyeshadow but it seems to be hard to reach the bottom. My goal for my next update is to show even just a small pan.

Etude House Look At My Eyes Pearl Shadow Base - It seems there's no progress with this product because this still looks the same from my last update. The problem with this is that whenever I rub my fingers on this base, the product moves and it covers the pan that I have hit previously. I use this almost every time I apply my makeup on and I can assure you that there's a lot of progress from previous update. I'll be focusing on the bottom part for the next two months, hoping to have a wider pan on my next update.

Mary Kay Eye Color in Honey Spice (below) - There's dip showing through and I'm quite happy about that. I stopped using this for a while because I gave all of my attention to the eyeshadow palette included on this project too. I have hit pan on all of the shadows on that palette so I can now focus in using this eyeshadow again. I'll try hit the pan of this shadow for the next two months.

Revlon CustomEyes Shadow/Liner in Naturally Glamorous - I've hit pan on all of the shadows! Oh my goodness! The goal on my last update was to hit pan on the white and reddish-brown shades and I succeeded. This is so amazing, guys. I'm excited to finish this palette. :) I'll give you closer look of the shadows to compare with my last update.

REPLACEMENTS

I have replaced my Etude House Look At My Lips in 04 (baby pink lipstick) with the eyeshadow, that I will be talking in just a few seconds, because that lipstick is just way too old and it feels disgusting every time I put on my lips. It doesn't smell funky or anything but I felt like I should be tossing it away. Anyways, the eyeshadow that I chose as a replacement is this matte medium brown that I have used a lot before. This is included in a Elf Eye Shadow On The Go Palette that I have depotted because I didn't like the other shadows. I have a feeling that I will go through quickly because this is such a tiny pan. :)

This concludes my Update #2. I know I have lot of products to work on, considering that June will be coming soon. I'll try my very best to make this project to be successful as much as possible. I think that I'm doing good at this project compared to the other ones I have the past years.

Are you doing this project too? Please share us your videos/post so we could each others experiences, progress and learnings. I hope you enjoyed my short and cranky post. My next update will be on July, so stay tuned for that. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading this post. I'll talk to you soon. I hope you are having a great day. Stay safe. XOXO

Ola, people of the world! :)   I'm back for an another update of my Pan That Palette 2016. Unlike last year, I'm determined to hit pan on all of these shadows because I don't want them to go bad without giving them some love. I have this palette since December 2013 and I feel like I have not used them a lot back then. This is the AVON The Greens Eyeshadow Palette, which actually makes my brown eyes rock. This was the same palette I have used on my Pan That Palette Challenge 2015; this palette was almost full when I started the challenge last year. I have hit pan on 2 shadows last year; the shades 5 and 8, which were kind of the only shadows I gave my full attention last year.

My target on February was to hit pan shades 2 and 6, as I have said on my last update. Guess what? I've hit the pan on those two shades! OMG! This is so exciting! I was not able to have an update on March because busy with everything -- work and Graduate School. Anyways, I'm giving my update now. If you are interested on my update, just keep on reading. :)

P.S. 1st column is for the intro, 2nd column is for the 1st update, and 3rd column is for this update.

Shade 1: I have working on this shade for quite some time now. I always use a pencil brush to dig into this shadow; I use this regularly on the inner corners of my eyes, but it seems to take forever to reach the bottom. As you can see on third column, I have a deeper dip compared to my intro post and 1st update. I have feeling that I will hit pan on this soon.

Shade 2: I've hit pan on this gold shadow! Yay! I remember mentioning before that this eyeshadow is flaky and chunky and it really it is. The solution I have come up with is to spray face mist on the eyeshadow brush before putting it into my eyes. It serves as glue for the misbehaved eyeshadow like this. I like using this on top of my lids; it makes my eyes pop and awake.

Shade 3: A light mint green shade that doesn't have a good color payoff. This is the least used eyeshadow in this palette; It shows paler on the eyelids, which kind of annoying. I would love to use this green color daily, but it doesn't do well on the eyes. I have just found out that this looks better with a green base underneath. I used this on an event a few weeks ago and I loved it. I will use the technique again so I could hit the pan on this by the end of December.

Shade 4: I use this on my outer corner sometimes, and lower lash line sometimes. This is a strong color so I don't use this all over my lids. Maybe I'll do a green smokey look someday and I could use this eyeshadow on my entire lids. There's a dip going on there so I'll just keep up my work. Who knows, maybe I'll hit pan this sooner that I think.

Shade 5: I only use this when I in a hurry and I don't know what eyeshadow to put on. There's not a lot going on here since I'm focusing on the other shadows that I haven't hit pan on yet.

Shade 6: Hooray! Another hit pan on! I've hit the bottom on February, if you are wondering. I used this mainly on my outer-v for a nice green accent on my eyes. The color combination I had on February was great; but since I have hit pan on my targets, I moved on to other shadows because I have a lot of eyeshadows included on my projects this year. Anyways, I'm so happy I've hit the pan on this eyeshadow. :)

Shade 7: There's not a lot going on this eyeshadow also. I use this sometimes on my outer-v, if I want a blue accent on my eye looks. I also use this on my lower lash line to give my eye looks a nice effect. I hope to have a good use of this teal shadow this Summer; it's the most appropriate season to use this eyeshadow. I hope I could make this toned down whenever I'll use this when I'm on work. :)

Shade 8: Just like the two other shades, there's not a lot going on this eyeshadow. I've already hit pan this so I'm not really that interested in shadows. Since I have a neutral palette that I'm working to use up this year, I'll focus on that one. The palette have 3 brown shades. I'm pulling away my self from this eyeshadow so I could be done with palette I just mentioned.

Here's collage showing the progress I made since my introduction post. As you can see, I've made some significant progress. You can see some dents and pans. I hope I can make this project successful this year.

That's my update for March. I'll do another update on the last week of April. I hope you stay tuned for that. For my next targets; 1.)I'd like to hit pan on Shade 1, 2.) denting on Shade 7 deeper, and 3.) flatter surface on Shade 5. If you are doing this challenge too, please share with me your post or video so I could check on them. A comment is always appreciated and responded. I love talking to my visitors and readers. I hope you liked this post. Thank you so much for reading. I'll talk to you again. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO
