Delightful Illusions

Hey, guys! For today's post, I will be sharing about my thoughts and experiences regarding the Colourpop Sage The Day Eyeshadow Palette. I didn't have a great experience with my first ever palette from the brand, The Zodiac Palette, as the mattes were dry and the shimmers were lackluster. I didn't buy anything from the brand since then and I wasn't really motivated to buy anything from the released collections. I always thought the brand is duping themselves by releasing similar palettes just in different aesthetic and packaging.

As I was browsing the internet for new eyeshadow palettes to play with, I have thought of trying newer eyeshadow palettes from the brand. This palette and the Darth Vader are the ones that caught my eyes the most and so I bought both. 5 years after trying anything new from the brand, I can definitely say the formula of the shimmers have improved a lot. This palette is similar to the The Child palette but I love the shadows here more especially the matte browns they have included that's why I chose this one. I love that I can create smokey looks; making this palette perfect for day to night green eyeshadow palette.

I love that they included a couple of duo chromes in here with smooth shifting and that metallic moss green is everything and I think is the star of the show. The mattes are pigmented, feels a little rough to the touch but is still blendable, and buildable. I also like this is in a cardboard packaging and got no mirror which makes it easy and light to travel with.

Let's now talk about each shadow. Starting front the upper right shade:
  • Lit Vibes (shimmer white gold with green reflex) - this is one of the shifty shades and perfect for the inner corners.
  •  Retreat Me (shimmer light green) - look cute all over the lids and gives this fresh vibes. I paired this Keep Calm on the crease and Intuition on the inner corner. It looked really light and fresh. See my Instagram post to see the look.
    • Sips Tea (matte pale green) - haven't played around with this yet but I think it's a boring shade. I will trade for a matte dark green shade if I can. But I guess they put it here to blend soften the other matte green shade.

  • Keep Calm (matte sage green) - I love this shadow! Looked so pretty on the crease and easy to build up. Doesn't look patchy and is blendable. I think this shadow all over the lids then topped with Retreat Me would make a cute green look.
  • Tree Of Life (metallic moss green) - The star of the show! It feels so buttery and glides on smoothly on the lids. I love that this just feels like butter, no flakes or annoying glitters, just pure smoothness.
  • Intuition (matte light brown) - Warm brown shade that is perfect as transition shade. This pairs really well with Nature Bae and Smudge Me. It is also blendable and buildable and really pigmented.

Click the picture for a clear view

  • Manifest (matte sparkle warm) - Caramel brown shade that I love blending on my crease or outer corner, depending on what look I am going for. This also really pigmented and blendable.
  • Nature Bae (blue brown duo chrome) - This duo chrome can be found anywhere now a days but I still love that they have included this in the palette. It's perfect to pair with Manifest and Smudge Me. I love that this palette has brown options if you don't like wearing an all-green eyeshadow look.
  • Smudge Me (matte brown) - I love this brown shade! It's the perfect brown - not warm, not cool that almost looks like black, just straight up brown. An essential shade that can be used as a liner, outer v shades and all over lid shade for that stunning smokey eyes. This is boring to some people but this an essential for me.

As I have said, I prefer this palette than The Child one because it has a balance of green and brown shades, giving more options to what look you are going for. The yummy chocolate brown mattes with the different shades of green are gorgeous combinations that give more variety. This might be my new favorite 9-pan eyeshadow palette from my collection and might be included to my Top 5 this year. Let's see about that on my upcoming eyeshadow palette ranking post. 😄

Do you also have this palette? Do you prefer this one or The Child palette? Please let us know and give us insights on your comparisons by leaving a comment. I hope you enjoyed this post and convinced you to buy this palette because it's affordable and will add gorgeous color story on your collection. Please have a nice and stay safe. See you on my next post. 💖

Hey, guys! I am back with another eyeshadow palette review and for today's topic, we are gonna talk about the MOIRA Beauty Time To Shine Pressed Pigment Palette. This green is one of the palettes from their Celestial Series where there are 3 more palettes with distinct themes, but I loved this color story the moment saw this that's why I picked up this one. I have been buying a lot green eyeshadow palettes this year and you will definitely see those on the upcoming posts. 🙈

What I love about this brand is that they put so much detail and attention on ever part of their packaging. The overall presentation of each palette they release is just incredibly detailed and stunning. This my second palette from the brand and I must say their palette releases from this year has improved a lot especially on the shimmer department. Though this palette has still pretty shimmers and easy to work with. If you are interested on a more colorful palette with wet shimmers and metallic, please check my Magic Dream Pressed Pigment Palette review.

Please click the picture for a clearer view. :)

I love that this palette contains neutral colors that are perfect for everyday work look but with pops of green eyeshadows. These green shadows are muted and can be built up for intense, smokey green look. The more I use this palette, the more I realized that this is versatile color story. I love how they included a random grey eyeshadow because I can create a cool-toned look, considering that this palette leans on the warmer side.

The matte feels like velvet and they are really easy to work with. They blend beautifully and I think that they have better formula than Colourpop. This brand is straightforward when it comes to creating their palettes -  none of that matte with glitters BS or pressed glitter eyeshadow that sometimes feel like a kid's makeup.😆 I don't know, maybe when it come with age, but for a 31-year old I'm not really fond of pressed glitters. Anyway, as I have said, Moira's matte eyeshadows are incredible and maybe one of the best one I have tried from affordable brands. When it comes to their shimmers, they have nice shine, glides on smoothly and not over the top. I have to admit, sometimes I just want a nice shimmer on the lid especially for work. The shimmers can be built up for intensity, though none of the these are sub-par.

This palette has the perfect balance of shimmers and mattes which is also perfect for travel since I don't have to bring another palette to pair this with. They only thing I don't like about Moira palettes in general is that they are bulky. They take up a lot of space on my travel makeup bag. I get that they want to have aesthetically pleasing palettes, but can they make them travel friendly as well? 😅

This palette contains 15 eyeshadows and let's talk about each one. According to the packaging, there are 5 pressed pigments and 10 pressed eyeshadows included in this. Starting from the bottom left, these are the eyeshadows:

💟Limelight (PP) - matte beige pigment that is perfect for setting eyeshadow base or softening hard edges.
💟Spiced (PP) - beige glitter topper that enhances the shimmer shades. It's really sheer and I'm pretty sure it's meant as a topper. It looks so sparkly on the lids and it's the only shade from this palette that has this kind of formula.
💟Carefree (PE) - matte olive green that make a perfect transition shade on green eyeshadow looks.
💟It's Time (PE) - shimmer taupe which I used on my lids to create a smokey eyes. Gives such a lovely shine on the lids!
💟All Good (PP) - shimmer gold with green base which I haven't used in a look yet. This shade is really beautiful and I think if this paired with the green mattes, it will pop even more.

💟Dare (PE)  - matte warm brown that is essential for most neutral palettes that serves as a crease shade. I loved using this and I think it made my brown eyes pop.
💟 Happy Soul (PE) - shimmer bronze that is just another essential on neutral palettes. I paired this with Dare and Tempting and it created this bronzy smokey look which I loved.
💟Just In Time (PP) - matte neutral brown that is perfect as a transition shade.
💟Want (PE) - matte dark green shadow that is really pigmented. I made a green eyeshadow look and I just tapped my brush in this shadow and when I blended on my outer-v, the pigment was screaming. I just love how buildable this shade is.
💟Spotlight (PP) - matte reddish brown pigment which I haven't used yet also. I'm not really into reddish smokey looks but I think I can bear with this shade. 😅

💟Shine Bright (PE) - shimmer taupe brown shade that is more brown toned than It's Time. If it was me, I would exchange for a matte mauve shade instead of this. I think mauve transition shade pull of those reddish brown shades beautifully and would complement well with the green shades.
💟Tempting (PP) - matte dark brown pigment that is easy to blend and is essential in making smokey looks when using this palette. I always love a matte dark brown and I have hit pan a lot on the past.
💟At The Moment (PE) - matte light grey shadow that I didn't expect to show up on my lids. I used this as a transition shade on a cool toned smokey look that I created and I loved how pigmented it is. This has a neutral which made me fell in love with the shadow even more. I don't blue-toned grey shades since they look ashy.
💟Flash (PE) - shimmer lime green which I loved putting all over my lids. This shadow is so gorgeous and makes brown eyes pop.
💟Signal (PE) - shimmer reddish brown which I haven't used yet. I might create a reddish brown eyeshadow look and post it on Instagram.

Swatches on flash

The first look I created with this palette is a a grey-themed palette. I used At The Moment as transition shade, Tempting on the crease and outer-V, and It's Time all over the lids and inner lower lash line. I just used 3 shades and I was in love with the simple look I created.

Another look I created focused on the green eyeshadows. Just In Time as transition shade, Carefree on the crease, Want on the outer-v and lower lash line, and Flash all over the lids. I also used Spiced as topper shade to make the look pop. I really loved this green look. I have also made a neutral eyeshadow look but I didn't have the time to take a picture. Sorry, my bad. 😅

Those are my thoughts on this palette and I would love to shoutout Jen Phelps for convincing me to try Moira Beauty. As I have said on my previous post, this brand is becoming one of my favorites since they make gorgeous eyeshadows and they straightforward on the direction of color story they are making. Plus, the attention to detail on every aspect but still maintaining an affordable price is unbeatable. I am so happy to try more indie brands since they are more worth the money than the mainstream brands. I am also happy to share a favorite online shop where I buy these indie makeup, See You Friday, they have great selection of brands I have never tried which they sell for reasonable prices.

I hope this post has been helpful and made you convince to try this underrated and slept on indie makeup brand. I am planning to buy another palette from them but I'll still have to decide what color story should I get. Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by and reading this post. Have a nice day and stay safe always.

Hey, everyone! Oh my gosh! It's been a long time since I posted here. This year has been pretty crazy. A lot of changes on my personal life and I have been travelling a lot for work. Despite being busy, I kept doing my Project Pans and buying so much makeup. You have no idea how much eyeshadow palettes I bought since the year start. Geez! I missed doing blogs and so I decided to start posting again. I hope I'll be consistent again. :)

I have been eyeing some Moira Beauty eyeshadow palettes since last year and I finally got a chance to try a couple of them this year. My first purchase from the brand is the Magic Dreaming Eyeshadow Palette which came from their Moiraland Series. It's a carnival-themed collection consisting of two colorful pressed pigments palette. The palette that I got consists of blues, greens, purples and some neutral shades  leaning on the darker side which are perfect for me since I really love doing smokey eye looks. The other palette is more on pastel, bright and loud shades which is good since there are options for everyone.

Upon opening the packaging, there are are three Moiraland carnival tickets awaiting for you. The are so dedicated in making this collection feel like carnival-like, truly magical! There's a plastic protection sheet that covers the shadows with carnival-themed prints. The palette is bulky and heavy, which usually annoys me, but this one is not bothersome. I think this one could still be brought on travels without taking so much space. The mirror has the ticket print which I think is the for the aesthetic but still usable for doing eye looks.

The most unbelievable thing about this brand is their ability to create eye-catching designs and the attention to detail on packaging and palettes but still being sold for affordable prices. Like, how? This a US makeup brand but their products are being produced in China. Maybe that's the reason they are affordable? Anyway, upon receiving this palette, my jaw dropped because it feels heavy and luxurious. From the front, to the back, to all the sides of the box, everything has details and some are embossed.  The box alone feels like $10 for me. I'm never throwing away this packaging, I swear! But you would believe that this palette only costs $18.50?

Please click the picture for a clearer view.

This palette contains 10 pressed pigments and 5 pressed eyeshadows. As we know, pressed may caused staining on the eyelids but so far, I haven't experienced anything. I have no issues with these shadows and pigments. The mattes are pigmented, smooth, buildable and easy to blend. The shimmers have this cream to powder finish and some of them have this sparkly and glittery effect. They stay on the lids all throughout the day with a little creasing, but all is well with a good quality eyeshadow primer. Each shade has carnival-themed object pressed which is incredible since this costs a lot of money to produce.

This palette consists of colorful shades such as blues, greens, purples and some neutrals to balance the color story. So, let's talk about the each one of them.
  •  Midnight Fun (pressed pigment) - matte lavender shade perfect as transition shade or overall lid shade. A standard shade for creating blue/purple looks. I'm just impressed with the color pay-off.
  • Mood (pressed eyeshadow) - shimmer pastel mint green shade which is really gorgeous on the inner corners. I created a look with the neutral shades and this on the lower lash line and inner corners. A really nice accent shade. I would also love to pair this with the matte pastels. Let's see about that.
  • All Mine (pressed pigment) - metallic gunmetal shade that looks so wet. I haven't used this one yet but I would like to pair this with the brown shades to create smokey looks. (My favorite, of course.)
  • Fireworks (pressed pigment) - matte dark blue violet shade that is overly pigmented. I used this on my lower lash line as well and I was surprised on how vivid this shadow is. Easy to blend and isn't patchy. Be careful with using this one, you only need a small amount to created a vivid shade. I think this is one of my favorites from this palette.
  • Carnival (pressed eyeshadow) - metallic dark green shade that I am interested to use on the future. I think this pair well with the brown shadows as well. How I wish there is a middle tone or dark tone green shade on this palette so it can go with this shadow.

On natural light

  • Universal (pressed pigment) - matte sky blue shade that looks so pretty. How do I use this shade? I'm not really into pastel and bright shadows. But I bought this palette since I want to explore using bright eyeshadows. I hope I can incorporate this one on my future looks.
  • Ferris Wheel (pressed eyeshadow) - matte pastel green which I haven't used yet as well. Again, I don't do bright eyeshadows usually but I'm willing to try new things.
  • It's Magical (pressed pigment) - matte pastel pink shade which I have used to blend with Fireworks. I love that they created a nice gradient and it toned down the vividness of dark violet shade.
  • It's A Date! (pressed eyeshadow) - matte light brown shade with yellow undertone. It's just your basic brown transition shade for warm and neutral skin tones. This buildable and blendable.
  • Sensational (pressed pigment) - metallic muted gold shade that I don't usually use but I think it would really go well with the blues, greens and browns.

Under the sun

  • Adventures (pressed pigment) - metallic dark denim blue with silver that looks sparkly in person. I haven't used this one yet but I think it would be perfect as accent color or eyeliner. I would also want to try this, making a smokey blue eyeshadow look.
  • Best Ever (pressed pigment) - matte beige with pink undertone. It's also a basic transition shade that would go well with the pastels, mauves and browns. I love this shade and I'm happy that this is included in the palette.
  • Dreamland (pressed pigment) - metallic violet shade that looks so wet on the lids. This shades compliments well my brown eyes and perfect to pair with the neutrals and other purples. This so sparkly in person and definitely my favorite from the palette.
  • Yay (pressed eyeshadow) - matte dark brown that is perfect to deepen eye looks. Just your basic dark brown shade but sometimes basic is all we need to complete looks. So blendable and buildable as well.
  • Joy (pressed pigment) - matte mid tone brown shade perfect for a crease shade. Again, just your neutral basic shade but transforms eye looks. This shade is lovely and goes well with the colorful shades.

On flash (the photographer do not know how to operate the camera, obviously)

This palette is amazing and I haven't experienced any fallouts so far. Theses are hard-pressed, really pigmented and has balanced color combination. I also love that there is no light cream / beige shade because we already have like thousands of that from other palettes. This is a well-curated palette, creating day to night looks, ranging from light to dark shades. This palette is really inspiring for me since everytime I look at this, I create so many color combinations in my head that I want to execute on my looks soon. Overall, I recommend this palette if you want to try this brand as well. This brand is becoming immediately one of my favorites in terms of eyeshadow formulation, considering how affordable the palettes are. Shout out to my favorite shop from Shopee, See You Friday. This is where I bought this palette without paying for the shipping fee (from US).

I hope you enjoyed this post and convinced you to try this brand because their products are so underrated. I love supporting indie brands that deliver quality products that doesn't break my bank. I also purchased a green-themed palette from this brand which I feature soon. I hope you stay tuned for that. Thank you so much for stopping by. I will be back soon. Have a good day and stay safe. XOXO

Hey, guys! I'm baaaaack. It's been a really long time since I posted. The past couple of years have been really been difficult and I just didn't have the motivation to post and do my makeup. Major things happened like being unemployed last year, starting my little baking from scratch and dealing with a person whom I though I'm gonna end up with but ended up gaslighting for almost a year. If you are interested, you can read more on this Instagram post of mine. Anyway, I have been doing a of healing since the beginning of the year, I have met new great friends that have been motivating me to keep going and I have also met someone new that helped greatly with this journey. That being said, I have decided to go back blogging because I found my motivation again and I think I am ready to this again with new and fresh products to talk about. <3

Zeesea x British Museum Alice in Wonderland - Purple Plate

For today's post, I am going to share with you this amazing 9-pan eyeshadow palette from my newly discovered brand this year, the Zeesea Cosmetics. This brand's product quality if unbelievably great for the price range they offer. The first product that has really caught my attention was their eyeshadow palettes and I'm guilty of collecting almost half of them. Their mattes are so pigmented and easy to blend and their shimmer shades are some of the most sparkly I have ever seen.

Yes, we are all mad! And that's okay. :)

From all of their eyeshadow palette series, I think this 9-pan collection is  my most favorite. I  have 4 of these and Purple Plate palette has the most unique color story.  I have used this last weekend for the first time and I immediately fell in love. The shimmers are so buttery and creamy and sparkly, I just want to slather them all of my lids. This palette may seem light but the shades are buildable and can be layered for more opacity.

Look at those details. Cheshire Cat looks so cute! :)

From left to right, 1st to 3rd row, let's talk about each of the shades:

Shade 1 - matte beige shade. Perfect for highlighting brow bones and blending harsh lines.
Shade 2 - matte muted pale lavender shade. I haven't tried this on my eyelids yet but I used this as a highlight on my inner lower lash line and it looked very pretty. It helped brighten my eye look.
Shade 3 - pale pink shimmer with purple shift. This shade has flaky texture and is very crumbly. It doesn't have a strong base but is verry stunning as an eyeshadow topper.
Shade 4 - matte pale mauve. I used this as a transition shade and it showed on my skin after two layers.

Shade 5 - metallic gold with purple undertone. This is the star of the show! It's one of those duo-chrome eyeshadows with stained glass effect. This looks more golden on my lids but paired with shade 3, it looks more purple. The combo is so stunning!
Shade 6 - matte plum shade. This is the darkest shade in the palette and this is the one I used on my outer-v. I layered this twice and it gave me that smokey-eye effect. So cool. I wanna wear that look again.
Shade 7 - shimmery plum shade with purple glitters. I have yet to try this shade on my lids yet. But I tried layering with Shade 3 on my wrist and I really liked the outcome.
Shade 8 - matte lilac shade. I paired this with Shade 4 on my crease and it looked so good. I has a nice payoff and I think it would show on darker skin as well.
Shade 9 - matte peach shade with gold glitters. I haven't tried this one yet but I think it would look nice as a blush shade.

Obviously, I haven't done a lot of look with this palette yet. I think that this such a unique purple palette though. Upon looking at the shade, you would think that it would just make light eyeshadow looks but I was surprised that I was able to make a smokey look with this one. I think a lot of people who haven't tried this one yet will really enjoy this palette. The quality is incredible and texture on the mattes are buttery and blendable. This is the best purple eyeshadow palette I have ever tried yet and I recommend to buy this first instead of the other variants.

Please play the video above to see the shifts on the shadows. The pictures haven't done justice showing just how beautiful this palette is. You can buy this on their official website but the Zeesea Official Store on Shopee always give great discounts; that's where I bought all of their palettes. I have 3 more from this line that I have yet to show you so stay tuned for that. Have you guys tried any of Zeesea eyeshadow palettes? What do you guys think of them? Please let us know by leaving a comment. :) I hope you enjoyed this chill review post because there's a lot to come in 2023. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will talk to you soon. Have a nice. <3

Hey, guys! As you can see, I will sharing with my thoughts and opinions on another eyeshadow palette. You know, I have been buying a lot of eyeshadow palettes this year and I have pending reviews that I need to post soon. What can I do? I love sharing budget beauty finds because I am really happy to score on affordable makeup products with superb quality. I was immediately interested and have bought this Beauty Glazed Lemon Eyeshadow Palette the moment I they posted this on their official Instagram account. I was wowed and so I added this to my card when this posted for sale on Shopee (shop here).

This palette is a dupe (allegedly) for the Coulourpop Uh Huh Honey palette and I think that they are similar, but not enough to be a complete duplicate. If you have seen my Beauty Glazed Uranus Palette review which is supposed to be a dupe for a Huda Beauty Palette, you know that this brand doesn't exactly copy the shades of high end palettes. They imitate the tones and shades, kind of tweaking some colors, but never ever exactly copying an entire palette. I salute that and that is why I keep on buying these palettes and I really love that don't compromise quality despite of their affordability. I bought this for only Php 126 which I love since I don't want to spend Php 900 for a yellow eyeshadow palette that I won't use everyday.

Ingredients list

Beauty Glazed's eyeshadow formula is my favorite since they feel smooth and buttery, super pigmented and vibrant, easy to apply and long lasting on the eyes. I love the fact that they are consistent all through their palettes and still maintaining affordable prices. Anyway, I don't have the Colourpop Uh Huh Honey, but I can see from the pictures that this palette has more deeper shades and some of these have orange undertones. I love this palette but you can only create yellow-toned looks from this and they look all similar once applied.

Isn't she stunning?

1st Row
The first row consists matte mustard yellow, mettalic pale yellow, and matte neon yellow shades. These are all easy to apply and blend but the matte neon yellow kind of lacks pigmentation and vibrancy. I think that I would be needing to apply 2-3 layers in order to achieve maximum opacity. The matte mustard shade is so nice to use as a transition shade. The metallic pale yellow looks so pretty as inner corner highlight and I can't get enough of it.

2nd row
The second row consists of metallic yellow gold, yellow pressed glitter, and metallic fiery peachy gold shades. I have not yet used the yellow gold, but the peachy gold is so stunning on the eyes! I loved how it looked so good on my brown eyes and it made my eyes looked warmer. I have also not yet used the glitter shadow since I can't really wear them for work. I might try this someday for a party of special occasion.

3rd row
The third row consists of 3 matte shades: deeper mustard, yellow and light brown (with yellow undertone). I apologize because I really such at describing shades. Haha! Anyway, I have used the yellow and light brown on my lids together and the looked the stunning. The brown shade doesn't really look brown at all and they don't look muddy when blended. I haven't used the mustard shade yet because it looks very similar to the mustard shade on the first row.

Sunshine on my eyes

Last Wednesday, I decided to play with this palette again. I used the mustard yellow as transition shade the matte yellow as a crease shade. I blended them well together and I loved the effect that they created. I used the light brown shade, blended it on my outer-v so that it would create depth and dimension to the look. Then, I decided to apply the light brown all over the lids to serve a base shade on metallic shade that I applied on top of it. I used the peachy gold shade all over the lids and it looked so beautiful! So fiery! I used the metallic pale yellow shade and it completed the look.

Super duper love it!
I also used the light brown and matte yellow shades on the lower lash line. I applied a black liquid liner on the lash line, the matte pencil black liner on my tightline and waterline. Since the shadows are bright, a black liner is a good contrast and it emphasizes the yellow shadows even more. I paired the eye look with a warm brown lips to complement the eyes. What do you think, guys?  Did it much well?

I love this palette and the formula that this has. I definitely recommend this palette if you want to try a all-yellow eyeshadow looks or if you want to play with colored shadows without paying for a lot of money. This is not an eyeshadow palette to be used everyday, but if you are fond of collection eyeshadow palettes and want to use colored shadows from time to time, this a good addition to your stash. It's affordable, easy to use and has a great quality.

Have you tried Beauty Glazed eyeshadows? What do you think of them? I definitely love the two palette that I tried and plan to buy the bigger palettes. They are so affordable and the quality is unbelievable. I hope you enjoyed this post and find it helpful in deciding if you want to try this palette or not. I have upcoming reviews to be posted and I hope you stay tuned. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a nice day. Stay safe! XOXO

Makeup and Astrology!? Oh yes, honey! So last year, KathleenLights release a Zodiac Collection with ColourPop and I was beyond excited to grab the palette the moment she have shown it to the world. I am obsessed with Astrology like her and I was freaking out when she released a palette that was planned out leniently to match the personality of each zodiac sign.  I was so determined to get the palette because I really really wanted to support my sister sign, she's Aquarius and I'm Leo, and astrology-themed makeup collections were popular in 2018. This palette was released in July, and I bought mine last year in September from Shopee because I didn't want to spend USD 50 just to get a free shipping. This retails for 18 USD and the seller sold this for PHP 1,100 which I think wasn't bad so I took the chance to buy the palette. Anyways, I have played with this palette sufficiently and I am now sharing my experiences, thoughts, and feelings with this makeup product.

You can still buy this at Shopee

 PACKAGING

If you have noticed, the box is black and the packaging itself is navy blue. Isn't that so cute? I absolutely love how detailed the design of the packaging; they have paired the sister signs and they have spread out the stars like what you see on the sky. I also love that the packaging feels like velvet giving that luxurious vibe. The shade names are indicated at the back, the palette feels heavy and sturdy, and it has mirror. I have brought this palette with me several times whenever I am required to travel for work and no shadows were broken. This is so sleek and it fits on medium-sized makeup bag.

For those of you who are wondering, this brand is cruelty-free. This palette contains 12 pressed eyeshadow and each of them weighs 1 gram. This is a little bit less compared to their singles eyeshadows but are still on the same page in terms of quality (allegedly). My only complaint with this is that they didn't include the ingredient list on the box. I was curious about that so I went to their website and saw that they have a separate list of ingredients for each shadow and that would be too long to put in the box. I suggest that you should check the site before buying this palette because there might be some ingredients that your are allergic to. See this The Zodiac Palette page to see the ingredients.

Look at that detail!
SHADES

This palette is a mixture of matte, satin and metallic shadows. Upon looking at this the first time, you might be underwhelmed because it seems so not cohesive and no setting or inner corner shades. There are only 4 mattes in this palette and you might be wondering how many looks you can create with this palette? Is this even wearable for everyday use? Is the quality consistent throughout the palette? I will discuss to you each of the shade and what are my thoughts about them.

So pigmented yet so chalky!

Column 1: The Aries, The Sagittarius, The Leo

Fire Signs:

The Aries: This is driest among the shades and doesn't look metallic on the lids. This would've been better if they just made this into a matte fiery orange. They describe this as a "metallic firey orange" but I don't see the boldness. I tried using this one time to create a sunset eye look and it sucked. Please don't disrespect Aries people like that. :(

The Sagittarius: This is such a pigmented matte magenta purple but I can't take how loosely this shadow was pressed. I was just slightly dipping my shadow into this shade and it picks a lot of product! It's so messy and wasteful. I thought ColourPop eyeshadows are wonderful but why this particular shadow like this? :( Anyway, this so easy to blend and you only need a tiny bit of amount in order for the color to show up.

The Leo: Out of the fire signs, this is the only one I like it terms of formula. It glides on smoothly, it's very pigmented and the color is so unique. I have seen a lot of orange-gold metallic shadows but this one has a nice twist. They described this as a "soft coral with gold flip" and this looks so complementing to my brown eyes yet not overwhelming. If you love warm eyeshadow looks, you would love this shadow.

Column 2: The Taurus, The Virgo, The Capricorn
Earth Signs:

The Taurus: This is the only matte transition shade in this palette but it is quite surprising that it goes well with all of the colors. You can definitely rely on this matte camel brown! This is such a pigmented shade for a transition color so you will need just a tiny bit of amount. You need to blend this fast because once it sets, it is kind of hard to blend. Work with this little by little since it  is pigmented.

The Virgo: This matte chocolate brown is one of the most used shadows from this palette. I love using this as a crease shade paired with The Taurus on the transition area. Just like The Taurus, you only need a small about but this blends better than the other. I think you can pair the two together  and create a simple brown smokey look. Love these two!

The Capricorn: Ooh! This matte black with gold flecks look so classy on the pan, just like Capricorns! But, once you apply this on eyes, the gold glitters are disappearing. :( This such a pigmented shade, it's easy to apply, but the glitters doesn't stick. ColourPop, why? No, the glitters were not oversprayed, they are in fact existent throughout the pan. It's just that the glitters are flying away. I was rooting for this one to be shade from the palette! And why are all the earth signs matte? They aren't that dry and boring! :)

Column 3: The Gemini, The Libra, The Aquarius

Air Signs:

The Gemini: This is my favorite shadow out of them all! I love this metallic antique gold applied all over my lids. This kinda looks like a muted gold with green undertone and is definitely the most unique one in this palette. I love how smooth and buttery it feels whenever I touch it.  This is super pretty and if you want to buy this alone, you can now. Kathleen actually teamed up again with Colourop and they released the single version of each shade. How cool is that? Check it here.

The Libra: This is the other transition shade from the palette and it's in a satin finish. This is a satin dusty rose shade that pairs well with the purple and pink shadows in this palette. This is one of the most blendable shadows and I use this a lot as well. I am not really sure if this will translate on darker skin tones since it so light. I adjusted the lighting in this photo in order for you to see the shade well.

The Aquarius: This is the most disappointing shade among the shadows. Oh no, ColourPop. You did Aquarius wrong! This looks so pigmented in the swatch but so underwhelming once applied. It fades into a light blue shade once blended. I know this is supposed to be light because it is periwinkle shade but you need build this up in order for the color to show up. I was excited for this shadow but the formula disappointed. This one of the only 4 matte shadows from this palette and this one is a flop. Yikes!

Column 4: The Cancer, The Scorpio, The Pisces
Water Signs:

The Cancer: This is the sweetest shade from this palette! Like The Gemini, this is also smooth and buttery when touched and glides on smoothly when applied. This looks like cotton candy and is so pretty on lids as well. This could be used to highlight the inner corners, I just don't think that it would pair well with the other shadows. Grab this in the single form because you won't be disappointed!

The Scorpio: This metallic plum is so sexy. Yasss! All Scorpios are freaking sexy! This matches well with The Sagittarius shade to create that purple monochromatic look. I haven't used this that much but I really like the shade. No complaints at all!

The Pisces: I admit, I was afraid to use this metallic aqua shade at first. My first thought was "How do I use this?" and how in the world will I incorporate this shadow on my everyday looks. This is not something that I would typically wear to work because it screams and is so loud. But, the first time I have laid this on my lids, I fell in love. It looks so pretty on the eyes! One time, I did a Palette Bingo and this one of the shadows that was generated. I had no choice but to put this on my lids since I can't put this on my inner corners. Oh my gosh! I loved it and I did use this on my lids twice. I know this is not wearable for everyday use but if you use The Taurus as transition shade, The Virgo on crease, this shadow on the lids and smoke it out with The Capricorn, it is perfect! I might do a tutorial for that look to see what I am talking about. :)

Now that I am looking at the shades again, I coming up with different color combinations. I wanna play this palette more because I have been neglecting this lately. I have accumulated a lot of eyeshadow palettes this year and it is hard to focus on a single palette. Haha! Obviously, I have been working hard for this blog and I have been trying a lot of products so that I can share my thoughts and opinions with you. I really don't do tutorials since I am not professional makeup artist but I want to share some of the looks I created with this palette. Here some of the following:

I tried to do a full matte eye look and I blended The Aquarius on my outer-V and it's not as vibrant as I wanted it to be. I think 3 layers would do. ColourPop, please re-formulate this shadow. :)

This a smokey look that I created using The Taurus as transition shade, The Virgo on crease, and The Capricorn all over the lids. This one is so pretty but I had a hard time blending these three shadows well. I have to remove everything and start from scratch because it looked like a mess the first time I tried this look. Please use a light hand while using combing these three shadows because they are super pigmented and you don't need a lot.

This is the first look I created with this palette and this was way back last year December. I used The Taurus as transition shade, The Gemini all over the lids, and The Sagittarius on my outer-V. I apologize for the bad quality but it looks more vibrant and pigmented in person. Haha! :)

Obviously, I am not a big fan of this palette but most the shadows are really beautiful and has a great quality. There are some flops but I think the greats ones empower the not so great shadows. I know a lot of people love the quality of ColourPop pressed eyeshadows, I was just not feeling some of the matte of this palette. The quality is not consistent throughout the palette but I think all of them are workable and your still getting the worth of your money. This is the most expensive palette in my collection and I am trying to explore this as much as I can. I wanna share or do a step by step post on how I create looks with this palette. As I have said, you can buy the shadows separately if you want to try some of the shadows only. You could save a lot of money if you buy the entire palette though.

If you have any recommendations for a good ColourPop Palette please let me know because I want try the other ones. I am eyeing the Brown Sugar Palette because I want a neutral palette from their makeup line. Have you tried that one? What are your thoughts? Please share your thoughts and opinions with us. I hope you find this post helpful and I hope you enjoyed browsing this blog. I will talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Stay safe! XOXO
