Delightful Illusions

Hey, guys! Do you like the new theme? I really love this! It's simple yet looks matured and blog is now easier to explore. I got this theme for free from Blogger Templates Gallery Anyway, for today's post, I will be talking about my newly purchased Vice Cosmetics Phenomenal Velvet Liquid Lip Kit in the shade Izkeravu. I was testing this new liquid lipstick from this brand for the past two weeks and I think I have already formed my thoughts and opinions on this new formula. Is it really phenomenal? Keep reading to find out.

If you are not aware, Vice Cosmetics is owned by our very own Vice Ganda which she launched last year. She started with liquid and bullet lipsticks, and now she has powder foundation, contour powders, blushers, highlighter, tints and brow products. I love how affordable her products are and she also sells bundles which you can save money from. I know i'm again late on the game with this lip kit, which she released last year December, but I am still reviewing this since I am curious and they hype has passed and you can rely that I my review is not influenced by others.

First of all, I love how lenient this box is. The products are secured and protected from damage, although I really don't like the waste of materials in creating this box. They could've manufactured a smaller box, right? Save our planet! :) This lip kit contains 1 Velvet Liquid Lipstick (3 mL) and 1 Soft Glide Lip (0.25 g). I picked Izkeravu because this is only shade that I think I would wear on a regular basis; I bought this because it looked like a nude peach shade when I swatched this on Watsons. This kit retails for Php 295, but I got for Php 265 because there was 10% discount when I bought this.

The description and ingredients

It's also nice that these products don't contain any parabens (cancer-causing ingredient) and that they included healthy ingredients that will nourish our lips. This new lip kit claims to be ultra soft, cloud-like, and hydrating. Are they really? Hmmmmmm. I have browsed their official store (Vice Cosmetics) on Shopee and these lip kits got 5 stars from their customers. As I have said, this is the only shade that I feel like I would wear since most of their lip shades are reds, purples, pinks. Their shades are screaming and loud, and I am neutral and nude kind of girl. I know that the target market is Filipino makeup lovers, which means that the products are formulated to suit Filipino skin tone, but I wish they would also create neutral and really nude shades.

I have also noticed there is slight change of color on their packaging. Their lipsticks used to have the fuchsia accent, and now it is hot pink. I have compared the packaging of this velvet liquid stick to the matte liquid lipstick (see my review of the Matte Liquid Lisptick in Kyemerut) and I realized that the matte one has this glossy packaging with the fuchsia accent while this velvet has this matte (glazed looking glass) packaging with the hot pink accent. Honestly, I prefer the latter because it looks bougie and can be compared to high-end lipsticks. Plus, the formula itself is really good.

Matte Liquid Lipstick vs. Velvet Liquid Lipstick

Yup, you read that right. I am in love with this new formula. I love how smooth the lipstick feels on lips. This is the easiest liquid lipstick to apply on the lips, it's buildable, and doesn't look patchy when layered. This transfers on papers cups and mugs whenever I drink coffee upon arriving at the office, but the shade doesn't fade easily on the lips. Unlike the matte liquid lipstick, this velvet one doesn't smell like chocolate but it doesn't smell bad either. My lips feels so moisturized the entire day and  doesn't look thick when I re-apply this after eating my lunch.

The Izkeravu Soft Glide Lip Liner

I have to say though, the lip liner doesn't glide on smoothly on my lips. I have read a review that this particular shade isn't really applying smoothly unlike the other shades. I don't what happened with this specific shade, maybe it has something to do with the manufacturing or ingredients? I have to use a lip balm in order for this to transfer on my lips properly. It is so hard to put on, like I have to really scratch this on my lips and I don't like doing that on my lips. I think that the lipstick would be fine on it's own.

Izkeravu Velvet Liquid Lipstick on top of the lip lner

Perfect for daily neutral looks

I have worn this lipstick the entire week two weeks ago. This went well with all the eye looks I created, even with the smokey ones. It says on the the site that this is a "warm nude shade" but it looks like a bright nude with orange undertone on my lips. I have also read from the reviews that this oxidizes into a shade darker on some people. On me, it looks almost bright light orange. I am not really used to this type of lipstick shade but I have loved ever since I have put this on my lips. I think this is now my favorite liquid lipstick formula.

Is this formula phenomenal? No, it isn't. It super comfortable though. Like heavenly and pleasurable type of feeling. Yes, it really is cloud like. It is pigment, 1 coat is enough to cover my entire lips. It doesn't fade easily even after sipping coffee or eating. It stays put for a very long time, and doesn't cake my lips even if I re-apply without wiping the first layer I have put on. I think I have to try other shades in order for me to form my solid opinion on the lip liners but I don't like this particular lip liner.

I still recommend the lipstick and it's one best that I have tried on the local market so far. Kudos to Vice and her team for this "Phenomenal" formula! I think that this shade will suit a lot of skin tones and majority of people can afford this kit. This is something that is worth spending your money on since this doesn't have any parabens, the brand is cruelty-free, and you are supporting the local market. You can get this on Watsons and online store like Shopee. If it is your first time shopping at Shopee, you can use my referral code "SYLDE22" to avail the Php 100 discount on your first purchase. Please note that I won't receive any money from this code, but I will be rewarded with Shopee Coins which I can use to avail discounts on my future purchases. :)

This is for today's post and I hope you liked this one. I kept it simple and short since I don't want to bore you with my ramblings and I feeling direct right now. I will be celebrating my birthday this Wednesday and might share my birthday makeup and outfit. I'll see about that. :) Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you'll follow this blog to keep you posted with my posts. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO

Hello! How are you, guys? The past couple of months have been hectic for me, especially last month, since I have traveled to abroad for a short vacation. For today's post, I'm gonna talk about this Jacky and Lauren Cosmetics Rose Gold Highlighter Palette that I got as a Christmas gift last year. I have seen this palette since last year December at Robinson's Department Store and this caught my eye. I have planned on buying this to try and make a review, but my friend gave this to me so I didn't buy one.

Upon receiving this makeup palette, I have notice that on the back on box it says that are 2 bronzers, 2 blushes and 2 highlighters which got me confused since it clearly says on the lid that it's a highlighter palette. What? These are all shimmer powder products and none these qualifies for a bronzer nor blusher. I know that this a generic brand that was manufactured in China, but can they clear this up so the consumers won't get confused?

Anyway, the packaging of this palette is made from plastic; the lid is a transparent plastic material with holographic print, the pans are glued on this dusty mauve plastic base. Each of the highlighter weighs 4.5 grams which makes a total of 27 grams. Not bad for highlighter palette, eh? This palette costs Php 399 and each is around Php 67. The price isn't bad either!

Most of these shades will suit medium to dark skin tones with warm undertone. I have tested all of these one by one on my cheek bones and they look like subtle glow instead of a blinding highlight. I'm kind of disappointed regarding this matter since I had high hopes that I will blind people with these babies. Haha!

The formula of this is more of a shimmery highlight, thick consistency, a little bit powdery, and emphasizes pores and fine lines. I think this would look really stunning on people with amazingly flawless skin. I still think that this palette is good since it suits my light warm skin stone and I get to experiment what shade suits well with a certain look that I'm wearing as of the moment. This doesn't last all through out the day on my face but is still is a decent formula though.

There are 6 shades on this palette; a white, a light pink, a pinky rose gold, a pink with purple shift (yay for unicorn-ish glow!), a more on the gold rose gold, and a golden peach. Haha! I apologize for the horrible shade description, you know I'm not good at this. Haha! Out of the 6, my favorite would be the pinky rose gold shade and it's the one that I always use. That shade is perfect for work and is the one that shows up on my skin.

I also tried the unicorn-ish shade and it also looks good on my skin. I don't use it everyday though because I don't want to enter our office looking like a unicorn licked my cheeks! Haha! Please forgive my cheesy lines today. :D

I think that I can mix the white highlight with the darker shades in order for them to show up on my skin. I tried the pink shade but it didn't show up on my skin; it looked like a shimmery muted pink blush. The golden peach shade also looks subtle on my skin. I told you guys, this palette if for the medium to dark skin tones.

Wearing the pinky rose gold highlight

Wearing the golden rose gold (LOL!)

Here's a picture of my niece wearing that golden rose gold highlight. She has a medium skin tone and it looks good on her! I did her makeup when we modeled for the gowns we currently have for rent on our mini boutique. I did not shave her brows because it looks good on its own. She's just 12 years old but I made her look like 20. Isn't she pretty? <3 p="">

Do I recommend this palette? First of all, if you have already a lot of highlighters, you don't this one. Although this a limited edition, I don't think that it will add value to a large makeup collection. If you are starting at makeup and and is just practicing, I suggest you should get this palette. I still see this on Robinson's Department Store, so I guess just buy it while the supply lasts. The price point in total isn't that affordable, but if you have to think about it, you are getting 6 shades which costs around Php 67 each.

This formula isn't the greatest I have ever tried, but as I said earlier, it's a decent one. You cannot blind people with these if you are expecting for drama. If you are looking for subtle highlighters and you have medium or dark skintone, this is a good palette for you.

I hope you enjoyed this post even though it's more chill and chatty than my usual reviews. I am so relaxed right now that I'm feeling a little bit my self this year. I hope this approach won't be bothersome and you would still read my posts. Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by. I will post a mini haul and review regarding a local makeup brand tomorrow. Please stay tuned. Have a great weekend! <3 p="" xoxo="">

Happy Month of Love, everyone! For today's post, I will talking about this Focallure Tropical Vacation Eyeshadow Palette which has been on the beauty market for a while. Focallure is known brand for their affordable makeup products, especially their eyeshadow palettes, since they have great quality and superb pigmentation for low prices. Since they have an official store on Shopee, I have decided to purchase this palette first and see what the rave is all about. I love this palette and now I'm kind of addicted to this brand and I have purchased another one of their palettes, which I be talking on another post, of course.

Allegedly, this palette is supposed to be a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. You may think that this a straight-up dupe of the mentioned palette, but if you compare them side by side, they aren't exactly similar at all. Unfortunately, I don't have that palette to give you a side by side swatch but I have searched for its picture and found out that they aren't twins at all. There are shades from this palette that are way darker from the original palette and some of them aren't on same tone as well. The original palette has 3 shimmers, this palette has 4 shimmers. I would say that this palette is more likely inspired by the Modern Renaissance Palette than being an exact dupe.

I have been playing with this palette since last November and I have been reaching out for this almost every week. This palette inspires me to go out of my comfort zones and use warm shadows, especially pinks and reds. If you know me, you know that I love cool tones looks especially smokey eyes for everyday. The packaging is quite nice; it's made of cardboard, the cover matches the color scheme and it's light to travel with. The only thing I question about this palette is the name itself. Why is this called "Tropical Vacation"? The shades on this palette aren't tropical enough, though of some of the shade names fit the name of the palette.

The matte eyeshadows in this palette are kind of powdery but are really pigmented. I love how they easily blend and I take my time to slowly build up the colors on my lids since they are pigmented. I love how these shadows do not get muddy when blended together; they do not take away the beauty of each other. As for the metallic shades, I use a flat synthetic brush to apply on my lids as natural hair do not pick them quite well. The trick I have for this problem is wiggle my brush on eyeshadow a few times and pat it on my lids. For maximum impact, I layer the metallic shadows using my fingers. You know metallic shadows, they won't be intense unless you apply them with your fingers.

This palette also includes a double-sided brush; a blender on other side a flat shader brush on the other side. This brush is nice but it's kind of small, and so I grab for my other brushes whenever using this palette. I appreciate that they have put a useful brush on this palette instead of a spoolie. Kudos, Focallure!

Swatches:

First row
WAX - matte cream shade with warn undertone
BEACH - matte cream shade with cool undertone
FROST - matte light peach
TARO - white shimmer
RETRO COPPER - matte light red
MAGENTA - matte burgundy
COFFEE - matte dark brown

Second row
DESERT - mettalic golden bronze
APRICOT - matte medium peach
BRIGHT - pink-gold metallic duo chrome
EMPIRE - mettalic warm brown
MOSCOW - matte taupe brown
CAMEL - matte maroon (more on the red side)
HEAT - matte terracotta

Here's a simple neutral look that I created using this palette. I have played with the red eyeshadows but I'm planning to do a demo or tutorial on a separate post.

I love this palette and I really recommend this to everybody. If you want similar vibes with the ABH Palette but don't want to spend a lot of money, get this palette. You will love it. I hope you liked my post for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. I will talk to you soon. Bye! XOXO

Ever Bilena is a local brand that sells makeup products for affordable price range. It's one of those brands that I bought first when I started wearing makeup (way back in college) and I remember that they don't have a lot of products compared now. I'm happy to see that they continuously stepping up their game and joining the bandwagon of on-trend makeup products. One thing I love about them is that they are also collaborating with celebrities like Kris Aquino but also stay on the attainable price range. Good job, EB!

A few weeks ago, I saw from a Youtube content creator Kenny Malalad (Filipino Beauty Vlogger) a review on the new EB Pro Cheek Set Palette. I learned from him that this product, and the other products from this line, are exclusive for Robinsons Department Stores and Lazada. Anyway, I was really curious upon seeing the palette from the review and I bought it when I passed by the mentioned mall. I'm amazed that this only Php 189 and even cheaper than the blush/bronzer duo they have from another line.

The Claims:
    • "Give your skin the appearance of natural radiance with a highlighter, blush and contour in sleek, travel compact."
    • "The color is intensely pigmented yet blend beautifully."
    • "The shades are versatile for any skin tone."

My initial impressions:
  • I love that the packaging is sleek because it is perfect for travelling
  • Two thumbs up for being paraben-free and cruelty free
  • The shelf life realistic  - most of powder face products take time to finish and this gives us 24 months
  • Versatile for all skin tones?? Really?
  • Intensely pigmented????? So I need to use it lightly then

Upon swatching this unto my wrist, I'm kinda underwhelmed. I thought that these were supposed to be intensely pigmented and are versatile to all skin tones. They are looked subtle on the swatch and highly doubted that they could cater all skin tones. The product themselves are powdery and I barely saw pigment.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a blinding highlight considering the price but this is barely a highlight. This actually a sheen - a sheen that is most probably will look nice on fair and light skin tones. I suspect that this highlight will not compliment on darker skin tones since it will look like a white streak on the cheek bones instead of highlight.

The blush from this palette seems to be disappointing as well; it looks lighter on skin and isn't that "intensely pigmented" at all. At the pan, it looked like neutral, muted pink that will look good on most skin tones. The truth is, it isn't. It looks like a light pink flush on my cheeks. I need to re-apple twice in order for the product to show up. Again, I highly doubt this will be visible on darker skin tone.

The contour is my favorite part of the palette! I love that this has neutral undertone yet still compliments my light skin tone with warm undertone. This shade kinda reminds me of the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer; it is neutral and looks good on all skin tones. I know this is supposed to be contour but this is also good as a bronzer. As you can see from the picture, I've already made a large dent.

As you can see from the pictures, the products are barely visible on my skin. The highlight looks like a healthy sheen, the blush looks like a pink flush and the contour looks so natural. I love how these products look on my skin but they are almost total opposites to what they claim. I know I should be considerate with the price, but the claims drag this palette down. I'm grateful to Ever Bilena that they created affordable products but this just doesn't do what it claims.

My heart is torn between this product because I like on my skin, but I cannot recommend it on everybody. I love that this is easy to use and it aims to help people to look professionally done because we barely see that on the local market. If they could expand their shade range, that would be great. I apologize for being brutal in the middle of the rave, but this just doesn't work for everybody.

My Final Thoughts:

  • I love that this is affordable and fits the budget of students and young professionals
  • I wish that this could be attainable since some people doesn't have easy access on Robinsons Mall and some are aren't fond of online shopping
  • The products themselves lasts only a few hours and needs to be re-applied at the middle of the day.
  • Again, I'm disappointed by the shades  - aren't for all skin tones
  • I recommend this if you're a beginner and just practicing (again, not for all skin tones)
That's it for my review of this new palette from Ever Bilena. If you have tried this palette and have different thoughts about this, please let us know by leaving a comment. I hope this post helped you in deciding whether to buy this palette or let it pass. Please stay tuned for more contents and thank you for stopping by. Have a nice day! XOXO

Hey, guys! I'm back with another review on a makeup palette that I picked up 3 weeks ago. As I was strolling my a local Robinsons Mall, I stumbled upon this MAX & MORE Burgundy Palette. I was shocked when I found out that this a European brand, though it is made in China (like most of our palettes). The thing that shocked me the most is the price, it's only Php 199!

This palette contains 6 eyeshadows (all shimmer), 1 face highlighter, 1 blush (satin) and 1 bronzer (with gold glitters). That is a total of 9 products for Php 199! Wow!

I immediately bought this palette because I wanted to try and see if this affordable works. The packaging feels sturdy for its price and you get decent-sized products. The layout of this kinda reminds of the the Revolution Euphoria Eyeshades & Contouring Palette, except that it has mirror on the lid. I haven't tried bringing this palette to a trip but I can think that it can fit medium-sized makeup bags.

If I'm being honest, the eyeshadows seem to be disappointing. I know I shouldn't be expecting anything amazing since this a really cheap palette, but I have used some palette with the same price but has nicer quality than this. Anyway, as you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadow are kinda sheer and look identical with one another. This sucks because I need at least 2 matte shadows to create a nice eye look.  A thing I also notice about this palette is that it doesn't contain a legit burgundy shade, which is funny since this palette is called "Burgundy Palette". This palette could've mixed the 2nd and 3rd shadow to create a baby pink lid shade and included a matte (instead of shimmer) burgundy shade to deepen the look.

The face products give me the opposite feeling and I love all of them. The bronzer is buildable, blendable, doesn't look muddy on the face and glitters are so fine it isn't visible. The blush gives a bright pink flush and it has a satin finish. The highlighter looks nice and give a nice glow even though it looks thick and textured on the swatch.

The pictures on top and bottom show how the face products look together on my skin. What do you think, guys? I really love this products since they feel like they melt into my skin and that I don't have to worry about looking overdone.

I tried using the 5th and 6th eyeshadow to make a smokey burgundy eyes but it looked not so pigmented and muddy. I used a shadow stick to darken the dark brown eyeshadow because it isn't dark enough.

These eyeshadows aren't working nicely at all and and takes time to build up. How I wish they made a separate palette for the blush, bronzer and highlighter since I don't mind paying Php 199 for it. I understand that this palette intends to be an all-in-one product, it's just that the eyeshadows suck. I apologize for the term but these shadow really just don't do anything. :)

Overall, I think this palette is worth the price that I paid for. I know I don't like the shadows but the face products are really worth paying for. I know the shades on this palette won't really suit our friends with darker skin and so won't say that I recommend this for everybody. If you have similar skin tone like mine and would like to try this palette, go ahead and try this palette.

That's my overall thoughts about this palette and I hope I have covered everything I wanted to say about this palette. I recently bought a lot of makeup products to try and review and hoping to post them as soon as I can. If you have tried this product and have a different opinion about this palette, please enlighten us by leaving a comment. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will be back soon. Have a nice day! XOXO
