Delightful Illusions

Hey, guy! Today, I'm going to show you which I have bought in October and some on November. All of these products are new for me to try except for one that is a repurchased item.  I got products from San San and Bobbie Cosmetics (which I thought was a new makeup line). This is going to be a quite long post so let's get right in to it.

The first thing I got was this Bobbie Cosmetics Poof! Concealer 03 which I purchase at a Robinson's Supermarket. I was thrilled when I first saw the display of Bobbie Cosmetics because I thought the brand was new to the industry. I was surprised that the prize range goes from PHP 100 - 300. Affordable, eh? I wen back to the grocery and scanned the products and see if what would I like to try first. I remembered that I needed a concealer so I picked up this one.

The packaging is girly with metallic baby pink casing. As I opened the product when I got home, I noticedn that the product itself is somewhat detached from its pan. I don't know this was poorly made or just old. The thing I got disappointed with is the shade, picked up the darkest shade instead of the medium one.

Anyways, I still swatched it and I was pleased with the thick, creamy consistency it has. I tried it on my dark circles and worked just fine. I was just hopinh that I got the right shade. I wouldn't put this on my face because it doesn't match my skin tone.

It comes with a mirror at the bottom part of the product which is good for focusing on areas you need to conceal. Longevity-wise, the product doesn't stay all day long; it fades throughout the day even when there's powder on top.

This concealer costs Php 100 which is pretty cheap for a local makeup brand. I don't love nor hate this product as I have decided my final verdict. This does not lasts all day long but isn't that bad either. I think I can look for ways on how will I work on this concealer. 😉

I went to HBC a few weeks ago to check on the new makeup products from San San. They have repackaged all of their products, I think more of upgrading the quality of look of the products. They also have a makep line, the San San HD High Definition.

I swatched some of their products but I decided to just get my holy grail product which is the San San Waterproof Thick Lash Mascara in Black. As you can see at the picture above, the packaging is new. The mettalic blue gray packaging and embossed lettering makes it look high-end and expensive.

Changes were also made on the applicator especially in the size of the bristles. It was used to be big fatty applicator which came down into a standard slim mascara brush. I didn't like how it applies the first time I used it. Maybe they reformulated it? I don't know. It gets clumpy and spreads on the eye area if I do a single flick. I have to wait for a few minutes for it to dry. Anyways, it's getting okay now. This mascara costs Php 125.

The next week, I went back to Robinson's Supermarket to get the Smoked Out! Eyeshadow Palette of Bobbie Cosmetics. I was debating over my self at first whether to buy get this or not. Do I need this? Is worth spending of my one day allowance? Is this a quality product?

I can'y control myself so I bought the palette. This one costs Php 215, pretty cheap for an eye shadow palette I say. They actually another palette which more on brown shades and costs the same. The other one has a tester so I took the chance of swatching the shadows. The texture felt cheap, like the ones made in China. This palette came with dual ended brush; the one side is like a shade brush and the other side is a standard applicator you always see on eye shadows.

The palette consists of 12 eyes shadows; half of it are more on grey shades and the other half are blues, brown and black. It's pretty much similar on the smokey palettes in terms of shade selection. I immediately swatched the shadows when I got home. I was disappointed with what the formula of the eye shadows. The matte shadows are barely pigmented and chalky. The metallic ones aren't intense at all, has glitter fall-outs, and chalky.

Swatches of the first 6 colors are shown on the picture above. Can you see the third shadow? No! The matte shadow look chalky.

The the other half of the palette has interesting colors in my opinion. I think that they are grouped together to make a great smokey look. What do you say?

I liked the blue shadow but I discovered that it shows more of dark blue-purple color. I have not tried all of these shadows yet but I can say that don't really show well once applied on the eyes and isn't really blendable. I don't regret buying this though as this is good for practicing smokey looks.

The last makeup shopping I did was a trip back on HBC. We had a regional event last week and I was on search for a good foundation that would make me look great. I went back to the store because I know they have affordable makeup that won't empty my wallet. Haha!

The sales lady said to try the San San HD High Definition Foundation. She browsed the display and picked up the Beige sampler. I pumped some on my the back of my hand and applied it on my bare face. I have noticed that it has mousse-like consistency, looks natural on my skin and covered my pores well.

What's good about this is that it come a pump applicator, really convenient for applying makeup and is hygienic. I decided to pick it up. For only Php 205, this is a steal.

What In also love about this is that it has SPF 30 with Vitamins A, C and E. It's medium to full coverage is good for photography as it looks nothing on the face.

The sales lady convinced me to get the powder as well but I didn't feel like shedding much money on makeup. I was planning to get a concealer for my blemishes so I bought this San San Concealer in Beige from the regular line.

I have tried this on my under eyes and it was too light. I have felt the lightweight feel and blendability so I picked it up as well.

I love the blue metallic packaging. It's sturdy as well. The product has SPF 15. Great! For Php 118, this is a steal again.

That's all of the makeup products I recently purchased. If you enjoyed this, please leave a comment below and maybe subscribe to this blog. :) I may post reviews on one or two of this products. Please let me know which should I review. Thank you so much for reading. Have a nice day guys. Stay Safe. Pray for the world.

Happy Halloween! How's your Trick or Treat going on? I hope it's fun. My Halloween is nothing special because I wanted this day just be in the house since I've just been back from a work travel. I want to relax and stop thinking of work for a while. I just watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone since the movie is appropriate for the day. Don't you think? :) October has been crazy and I almost resigned from work. Haha! Anyways, I will be doing a tag today; something I have not done in while and haven't done this year.

I was browsing on makeup blogs a couple of weeks ago when I stumbled upon a blog, Hello Kaily, featuring The Eye Shadow Tag. I find the tag interesting since I am a sucker for eye shadows and these babies dominate my makeup collection.

       Of course, there are rules;
       1. Tag 3 bloggers to answer these same questions
       2. Those bloggers will tag 3 more bloggers of their choice with the same questions            and rules.
       3. No tag backs.

❣ How many eye shadows do you own?

I have accumulated a lot of eye shadows ever since I started collecting makeup. Actually, I didn't keep them all because I don't like expired stuff on my stash. That is pretty disgusting. But there are shadows I have kept because they hold a great value; some where given to me by my friends. As of the moment, I have 6 singles, 3 mini palettes, 2 palettes, 2 quads, and 2 duos.

❣ What was your first eye shadow?

I cannot remember exactly what was my first eye shadow ever. I have started collecting makeup during my college days and I have really love the Nichido True Colors Collection Eye Shadows. One of my favorites from the line is the Gold Foil eye shadow, a sheer pale gold color. It was my holy grail eye product back then; it was perfect on the lids for daily use and I have repurchased the product twice. I was inspired by MAC's All That Glitters Eye Shadow to look for dupes, but the shade is just not meant to be duped at all.

❣ What is your most worn eye shadow?

MAC's Veluxe Pearl Eye Shadow in All That Glitters! I have shown and talked about this product a lot. Haha! I don't want to be redundant. Anyways, it's the best eye shadow ever. Beautiful on its own, perect for every ocassion.

❣ What is your favorite brand for eye shadows?

Honestly, I don't own a lot of eye shadows in the same brand. I don't have a gigantic collection of makeup and keeping always cleaning my stash. As a beauty blogger, I have quite a fair share of experiences to the community. For the past 6 years buying and using makeup, I have to say that my favorite brand for eye shadows is MAC. Their eye shadow are worth the money you would pay for and would really last a long time.

I have love-hate realationship products with Maybelline products because they have a lot of miss. You could be wasting some money with their products, but their Eye Studio Marbelized Eye Shadows are must-buys. The one shown above is Mocha Mirage; it's super pigmented, blendable, and has buttery texture. It's one if the best I have ever used! The great thing about this is it's affordable and has wide range of selection, though I wish they have matte shades. For creating dimensions and effect,

❣ What is your favorite finish?

Satin is my first pick for any ocassion because it's easy to work with; it won't take much time putting on and isn't boring at all.

❣ What is the last eye shadow you bought?

I have recently purchased this Bobbie Cosmetics Smoked Out! Eyeshadow Palette. I won't go in to details with this because I will be doing an in-depth review with this soon. I think that this is quite new as not many bloggers have talked about this product.

❣ How many eye products do you currently have in your makeup bag?

None as of the moment.

❣ What eye shadows do you use to rock a smokey eye?

Brown eye shadows. I love neutral looks and dark brown eye shadows are perfect for smoking out everyday office looks.

❣ How do you store your eye shadows?

I just store them in my makeup drawer. Maybe one day I'll show you my makeup stash, I got a presentable organization. Haha!

❣ What eye products are you currently lusting over?

I have been eyeing this Autobalm Face California Palette since last year. I would love to own this product because it's perfect for my lifetsyle which is always traveling. This  contains 2 eyeshadows, 1 higlighter and 1 blush. This is a must-have for me because it's lightweight.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and find it intresting. These are the people I tag:
  • Jhem of Jhem Says
  • Queenie of Dolled-Up Queen
  • Lou of Live, Love and Lou
  • And everybody else who wants to this tag
I hope the people I tagged will do this as it is really fun. If you do this, please send a link. I love doing blog hopping and discovering friends online. Thank you so much for reading. Have a nice day! Stay safe. Sending you all some love. ❤❤💖

Tourist Destination: Strawberry Farm
Location: La Trinidad, Benguet
How To Get There: Van or other means of land transportation, a 30-minute ride from Baguio City
Don't Miss: Strawberry Picking and Buying Strawberry Ice Cream

Strawberry Farm is one of must-visit places when you go to the mountainous province of Benguet. It's a 30-minute drive away from Baguio City, located at the town of La Trinidad. It is a few hectares of farm filled strawberries, vegetables and flowers being managed by the local government. The whole place is open to tourists; meaning you can actually get close to the plants, pick them and buy them. Of course, you have to buy them. They are not free. Haha! :)

My family and I had a vacation in Baguio City wayback in April. One of our itineraries was to go to the Strawberry Farm, but we didn't how to get there since it is located outside of the city. Luckily, we were able hire a van that offers tour services around Baguio City and some places near it. The offer to us costed Php 2500 which was good for 8 hours.

Our first destination on the trip was the Strawberry Farm. Upon seeing the farm for the first time, I was amazed of how wide it is. There were workers in there who tells the visitors that they can actually experience picking the strawberries but they have to buy the picked ones. A kilo costs Php 400, everybody in the group can pick as long as they have to reach at least a kilo.

The strawberries were a little smaller that I was expecting. Haha! Our guide said that it rained the night before we came that why it was muddy that day. There were lots of strawberries crushed and went all over the place due to heavy rain drops.

This is a picture of a strawberry up-close. Isn't this lovely? Look how vivid the redness is. It looks delicious and juicy. Speaking of delicious, you can actually eat the fruit right there and the. But, just be quiet and do some some ninja moves. Haha! I ain't kidding you guys. We actually did that. Haha!

My mom enjoyed the picking segment together with cousins. They got tired after a while but the lady guiding us said that we should reach the quota. Haha! Anyways, the weather might be sunny but the atmosphere is still chilly, but enough chilly to not wear a jacket or coat.

That's me picking some strawberries as well. I helped after I took some pictures of the place. I have encountered some struggles because I was wearing a sneaker wedge. It was hard to squat and was hard to walk because of the mud. My shoes got dirty, I have to walk on a drier place and rub the mud off my shoes. Haha! :)

When you go picking the strawberries, you are given a basket to put your strawberries on. Workers on their said that the smaller ones tastes sweeter than the bigger ones. I have tasted the smaller ones they are pretty sweet so we chose to pick them up. I tell you, it takes time to reach a kilo because these weighs light. We were at the field for like 30-40 minutes. It was fun to do. You try this if you ever stop by at this place.

A man was selling fresh Strawberry Ice Cream at the main road. It retails for Php 30 a cone, which is worth for what you are getting for. It was the best ice cream I have ever eaten that no artificial flavors could beat. Its creamy, fresh and tastes natural. It was so good! :)

I hope you enjoyed this post as much I enjoyed visiting the place. If you have any questions regarding the place, leave a comment or hit me a message. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I will post my other Benguet Adventures and some travels I made this year. Stay tuned for more posts. Thank you for visiting. Talking to you soon. Stay safe. Have a good day! :)

Hey, guys! I know it's been a while since my last post. I was travelling yet again everywhere to conduct various trainings. For those people who don't know, I work as a Training Specialist I at the government. My main role is to provide technical assistance to trainings, but I go usually beyond my job description as we are really scarce in staffing right now. Due to the weight of my responsibilities and my studies at the Graduate School, I cannot find enough spare time to write blog posts. I hope you understand. :)

I was inspired lately to do a post on what I makeup products I carry on my work travels. I know a lot of bloggers to this, so this is not new to you. Mine is a little bit different because I don't bring my "whole stash" of makeup when I travel. Haha!  I learned to bring the things that are really convenient and needed. Products that are easy to use and have multi-purposes are helpful in travels. I'm trying my very best to fit everything I need in this little bag because that doesn't take so much space on my luggage. Seriously, that's all everything I need for makeup. Travelling lightly is a necessity that everybody should learn. :)

FACE

As a training facilitator, I always want to look presentable. I host most activities so it's important to look fresh and stress-free. But, the problem is I don't have the luxury of time to put makeup on. I'm the facilitator, the manager. Being late is a crime. Haha! So what I do is to bring face makeup products that won't take long to put on. I always keep my face makeup simple, something that looks natural, not covering all of the blemishes. I want a fresh, undone look that won't call the HR's attention. Who would want that? Haha! :)

  • Maybelline Clear Smooth All-In-One Shine Free Cake Powder (Nude Beige). I mainly use this powder for touch-up using the sponge that comes with this. I also use this for setting my face with a face brush. It's not so much for controlling the oil on my face, a little bit cakey but is travel friendly because of the size.
  • Essence All About Matt! Oil Control Make-up Base. I talked about this product on my January 2015 Favorites. I haven't change my opinion about this product for the past 8 months that I have been using this. It dries quickly so I don't have to wait for long to put my concealer and BB Cream on. It's not the best base for oily skin but it helps in the application of liquid products. I notice traces of cakey-ness on my skin whenever I use powder products even with a base underneath.
  • Kluge Precious Skin BB Cream (Natural Beige). You have seen this product on my previous Collective Haul post. It's an OKAY BB Cream for the oily face. It doesn't have much coverage and feels more like tinted moisturizer. I can feel the weight of this product on my face and definitely has a huge amount of moisture. I like how this blur pores on my face together with the makeup base mentioned above.
  • Nichido Foundation Stick (Ivory). I use this to cover my awful dark circles. It does a pretty well job. This doesn't totally cancel darkness but it gives medium coverage. It has creamy, blendable consistency that saves time.
EYES

I always do a light brown smoky looks on work. I think it's the most appropriate option for work, especially when you are in a authoritarian position. Haha! ;) It's an easy look, doesn't require a lot of colors and suits most outfits I wear.

  • Etude House Easy Brow Pencil (Dark Grey). My go-to product for the brows. It gives a natural finish on my brows. The pigmentation is not intense, making it buildable. It stays all day long which I really love. What's its secret? It has wax! How I wish it tames my brows too. Haha! Anyways, I ain't complaining. It's thin and fits on my makeup bag. That's what matters.
  • Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base. The best go-to eyeshadow base that neutralizes darkness on my lids. I love this products looks good on it's own. If I'm in a hurry, I just put this all over the lids, pat some powder to get the product and I'm good to go. It could go a little bit oily towards the afternoon which is manageable.
  • Etude House Look At My Eyes... Pearl Shadow Base. The best eyeshadow base ever! You have this product a countless times. It's addictive! This is a cream base that dries like a powder on the eyelids. It  makes any eye look bright, having micro glitters in it. This acts like a paste as well, making my eyeshadows stay for a very long time. Perfect for school and office.

  • Avon The Greens 8-in-1  Eyeshadow Palette. The main reason I carry this on my trips is because this is the palette I put on a as a candidate for my Pan That Palette Challenge 2015. As you can see, I'm making some progress there. I've finally hit pan the brown shadow. Yay! This a convenient palette because it doesn't take a lot of space and has some good color combinations that suits brown eyes as well.
  • Ever Bilena Matte Eyeshadow Trios (Tango). Ah! Matte eyeshadows. They're the bomb! I carry this trio with me because my Avon palette doesn't have matte eyeshadows. I love to apply matte shadows on my crease for depth and dimension. Matte shadows have become my necessity for some time now. :)
  • MAC Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow (All That Glitters). The best eyeshadow of all eras, generations, centuries! Okay, nuff said. :)

  • IN2IT Supreme Waterproof Eyeliner (All Black). Err. That the best eyeliner. I'm just using this because this is on my Project 10 Pan. I have written a review of this in my To Buy or Not To Buy: IN2IT Supreme Waterproof Eyeliner (All Black) post.
  • Maybelline ColorShow Eyeliner. I forgot the name of this eyeliner's shade but it's somewhat beige. I love how this makes my eyes open and bright. It's waterproof but isn't long lasting. It wears off though hours but isn't messy. A good liner for everyday use.

  • Maybelline The Hyper Curl Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara. A decent mascara for everyday. This is hard core waterproff mascara, doesn't wear off nor clump. It doesn't give much of a volume as it claims, but is long lasting. A good mascara for casual events.
CHEEKS

  • Elf Studio Powder Blush (Tickled Pink). This blush is also included on my Project 10 Pan. It's not my most favorites blush but gives a nice pop of pink on my warm skin tone.
LIPS

  • Etude House Look At My Lips... Lipstick (003). A cool-toned, pale baby pink lipstick. Not so good for most skin types. Haha! But looks good on top of dark lip colors that you want to tone down. This is also included on Project 10 Pan.
  • Sophie Lip Gloss (Cotton Candy). A recent purchase of mine. It's just an ordinary gloss. Gives some shine and has a thick consistency.
  • San San Age Defence Lipstick (002). The best nude lipstick ever! Another candidate on my Project 10 Pan.
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Colorburst Balm Stain (Sweetheart Valentine). My current obsession. It's a light pink balm stain that stays for a long time.
BRUSHES

For the brushes, I always try to bring the ones I really need and would fit on my small makeup bag. The brown one is an eyeliner brush which was given to me by my friend for free; I use it to apply eyeshadows on my lash line and lower lash line as well. The travel-sized eyeshadow brush came together with the blush brush from San San. I think they still sell the travel brush kit. The black one is from Elf, it serves a lot purpose such as contouring the face, putting on a blush, and many more. The fluffy slanted eye brush is also from San San; being sold individually. The pencil brush is from Watsons.

A really long post, I say. Those were the things I carried on my makeup bag from my last work travel. I don't bring the same products all the time but I showed you the exact products I brought last week. I hope I could about my travels as well. I'll see what pictures I have and show the ones that are worth sharing. Haha! I hoped you like this post. If you have any request, please let me know. I'm always open for suggestions. I'll talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Be safe always. XOXO
