Delightful Illusions

Hi! Today, I'll be doing a First Impressions Review this Peel-Off Mask from Beauty Fix. I was browsing some beauty products at Watsons last Tuesday and I passed by the face masks shelf. Na curious ako sa mask na 'to kasi mura lang at perfect for testing out kasi nasa sachet lang. Nabili ko 'to for 22 Pesos. Sobrang mura, diba? I picked the one for oily skin, though the products says it's suitable for all skin types.

This product claims to control oil, detoxify, remove dead skin, clear up deep-seated dirt, and other impurities. Weh, di nga? Sa 22 Pesos ko magagawa lahat ng yun? Haha! The ingredients are good as swll kasi walang kahit anong "Paraben" na nilagay sa skin care product na 'to. Yehey! :)

Today, I decided to give this beauty mask a try and make a first impressions review. As you can see on the photo, kaliligo ko lang. The only thing I did to my face is wash it with a carrot soap. I really wanna see kung gaano ka effective 'tong magtanggal ng blemishes, especially yung blackheads. Nakikita niyo naman madamin akong blemishes. Yuck!

On a closer look, you can see my pores, scars, blackheads, pimple scars, and other not-so-good stuff. My skin doesn't look dull, but it doesn't look so healthy either. Mahirip talaga pag oily yung skin mo, pa balik-balik lang yung mga blemishes sa mukha.

It was stated on the instruction to cleanse the face with a warm water. Since tinamad na ako pumunta sa kusina ang mag init ng tubig sa takore, nag init na lang ako ng tubig sa microwave. Ninja moves lang, wala kasi si mama. Hindi ako mapapagalitan. Haha!

The products comes off as black; the ones that just look like the charcoal face masks. It does have that typical, ordinary peel-off mask smell which is stronger than the others. Anyways, I'm not really bothered by the smell. Nawawala naman siya once nag apply ka na sa face.

I used half of the sachet because I didn't want the product to be too thick on my face. I concentrated on areas where I desperately need to remove blackheads; I focused on the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. Please don't mind that blank line on my forehead, may sama na buhok sa product kaya nung hinila ko nagkaroon ng line. Haha! By the way, use headbands and hair ties or hair cap when using masks to avoid getting your hair on the product. I learned my lesson. :)

Oh my, I applied the mask unevenly! I should've used the whole sachet. I should have. Sobrang uneven! Haha!

It dries into a matte finish once it dries; I waited for like 30 minutes for this to be totally dry. Naramdam ko yung tightness sa skin, hindi nga ako makanguya mabuti ng Pringles eh. Haha! I removed the mask gently upwards. The process of removing the mask was painful and I can definitely feel that my facial hair was being peeled off my skin. Yikes!

This is what my skin looks like after peeling off the mask and washing my face with warm water. I noticed that my skin got radiant and smooth. My skin feels so soft and fresh. Bigla akong nagkaroon ng "pinkish glow".

Here's a selfie after trying the mask for the first time. Please don't mind the background. Lalo na yung washing machine! Haha! :D

As you can see in this picture, the mask remove a large blackhead and some facial hair. Sorry, kadiri tingnan. :)

At yung mga iba pang blackheads na natanggal. If my guess is right, this is part was from my nose. Sa ilong ako may madaming blackheads eh. If I have used the whole sachet, maybe the mask would pull-off more blackheads.

Highlights:
  • For 22 Pesos, you can't go wrong with this peel-off mask. It may not have removed all of my blackheads, but my skin fell tight after I used the mask. If used the entire sachet, I am pretty sure that this mask would remove more blemishes.
  • I love the fact that it didn't give my skin irritation, side effects or bad reactions. It seems to be quite gentle, even though it peels the hair on my face too. Hindi humapdi yung face ko or nasugatan.
  • Travel-friendly and very affordable.
  • Detoxifying? Yup! I can feel my skin breathe after removing the mask.
Would I recommend this? Yes, definitely. Try niyo mga sisters, baka hiyang naman sa skin type niyo.

I am hoping that I could give a follow-up on this first impressions review. Overall, I liked the mask and would recommend this to everyone. If you have any requests or recommendation, please tell me on the comments section. I am looking forward na makipag-usap sa mga fellow Pinays na mahilig sa makeup and skin care products. Tara, usap tayo! :) Thank you so much for reading and dropping by. I'll talk to you soon. Have a nice. Stay safe. XOXO

Hello! I've finally found a time for this blog. Yay! As I have said before, I'm busy working my way to the Graduate School. I went back to the university yesterday and a good news came in. I was exempted for the interview because I got an above average score on the entrance exam. Oh my goodness! I made it! This is one of the happiest days of my life! I'm so proud of my self. :) I'm not being haughty, okay? It's just I wanted to share the good news. Then, I also got a job interview last Saturday and it went well. I think that I might be able to get the job. :)

Anyways, I'll be doing a haul post. Since I have done fashion posts the previous month, I decided to give more attention to beauty products this time.  I have accumulated a lot of stuff recently from various stores. I got some makeup items, hair stuff and nail lacquers. Some of these were purchased last month. Without further talking, I'll show you now the products.

I went to Watson's a few weeks ago just to check out what's new on the store. I was browsing the hair section and I saw this hair lotion for curly or permed hair. It was from Monea, called Curl Defining Milk Hair Lotion. I picked it up to try if it's good too. I thought to give it a try because this sounds promising, thinking that this would be better better because it has milk. Besides, I'm already running low on my Dove Damage Therapy Curl and Sculpt Defining Mousse. I've already tried this and I have mixed feelings about this. I will review if I have formulated my firm and final judgment on this. As I have said before, my hair is permed. I have post all about it in here: Daily Products for My Permed Hair.

Then, I also got a skincare product. It's the RDL Clarifying Toner. This was the only toner I could find on the face section. I don't buy toner usually because I already have loads of stuff for my face. I decided to buy again because my skin needs a little help, it's been drying lately (though I have a oily skin). I was surprised when I opened the box because product is in a neon pink color. A little bit scary for a drugstore product. I thought that this would my skin because of the cheap price, but it didn't. I have been loving this since I tried it. This baby would most probably on my October Favorites.

A week and a half has passed, I went to another Watson's store to check some of their nail polish. I think I'm becoming more obsessed with nail polish than I do with makeup. Is that a good thing? Or is it scary? Anyways, I didn't find anything that amazed with so picked up two blue nail colors and a top coat, also in blue, from the brand My Polish. The brand is new to me, so I decided to try their lacquers and see if I'll like them. The color payoff isn't that great. It comes off sheer, 3 coats for opacity. I don't know if I'll get products from the brand again.

After my trip from Watson's, I headed to Saizen. It's a Japanese all-in-one store selling all of their items from Php 88. I was debating to my self whether to get a makeup item or not. Most of their stuff were from Taiwan which seems really odd and doubtful. Meaning that people will not be getting Japanese quality because their items were manufactured in Taiwan. But, I found my self buying an eye shadow palette in purple shades. I particularly bought it for the gray eyebrow powder that came with it. I don't use brown shades for my brows. The shadows are chalky, glittery and sheer. That's okay because it was cheap. Haha!

My last stop at the mall was HBC. If you don't know, I'm one of their members. :) I wanted to purchase a lippy in a lighter shade. As you have noticed, I have been using bold colors the past month. I wanted something toned down and isn't dramatic. I was swatching their testers on my hand when I stumbled upon this peachy nude lipstick. I immediately purchased it because it was the most beautiful nude lip color I've ever seen. Something that isn't pink. It has SPF too. Cool! It looks dark on the picture. My camera didn't pick the color well.

The last products I got are also nail polish. Okay, I'm getting crazy. Haha! Anyways, I bought these from a local boutique here in our town. I forgot the name of the shop. Geez, Sylden. Haha! I didn't find anything exciting at the store until I saw their nail polish rack. I instantly browsed it and got 3. All of them are in the shades of green. They were made in China. They don't have names. I'll have the swatch of the last one on my Instagram account. My feed's on the sidebar.

That's it for my haul. Did find anything interesting? Do you have any products that you want me to try? Let me know. I hope you enjoyed reading this post. More upcoming posts, I promise. Thank you so much for reading. Talk to you soon. Have a nice day. Stay safe. :D

Hello, world! Welcome to my little world of beauty! :) How are you, guys? By the way, I decided not to post a birthday haul because I wanted to talk about something useful and worth of your time.Instead of a haul post, you will be reading about products that I use daily basis for my permed mane. Please watch for my next post if you would like to. It might be a makeup look with a tutorial. :)

My hair has been exposed to various chemicals for such a long time. I started dying my hair way back in 2010. Because grey hair had spread throughout and gotten visible, I have to put a solution to it. But I was so wrong. Dying the hair actually contributes more grey hair in the long run. So I had to dye every once in a while to cover up. Then, just last year, I started using hot tools for styling without any protection (because of laziness). And after that, I went to a salon and have my hair rebonded, it became more thin than my actual mane.. The result? Even more damaged hair It was the most neglected part of my self, no treatment at all, not even conditioner. Oh my goodness, I was so cruel to my hair. By the end of last year, I have to cut it short and I opted for a bob hairstyle. I was so bored of it and after two months I have to cut it again. Then, last July, I had my hair permed (with cellophane treatment) so I would get rid of the thin-haired look.

I'm loving my hair style right now and I've never been so attentive my hair's needs before. I even came up with a daily hair care routine. I guess, I learned my lesson. Hehe! So, today, I'm gonna show you my hair products and tell you some tips for permed hair. Enough of blabbering. Let's go...

A good hair day always starts at the shower. It's important to clean your hair to remove dirt, oiliness and dandruff (in some cases). I use Head & Shoulders because it's the only anti-dandruff shampoo that works for me and it also cleanses my hair pretty well. Then for my condition, I use the Dove Damage Therapy Intense Repair. It treats damaged hair and split. I love it so much and I already bought a second tube.

I always start styling with a damp hair, drying the excess water with a towel.
As a rule of the thumb, permed hair should not be comb through it.  I stopped combing  right where my waves start.

Using my both hands, I coat my waves with a Macadamia oil evenly. I'm really careful not to touch my scalp when using this because it will cause greasiness. It's great  for on the go hair. It makes my hair soft, shiny and tangle free. It also helps protect the hair.

To enhance my my waves, I use a styling mousse. I use this one if I will just be around the house. It volumizes my hair, giving me a Hermoine Granger look. It contains Pro Vitamin B5 for a healthy hair.

Whenever I go out, I use this mousse. It's the Dove Damage Therapy Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse.  I love how it makes my waves curly and soft. It has a nice clean smell.

A fair amount of mousse for a portion of hair would be nice. I style my permed hair by scrunching. Yeah, scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. :D

Then for the final touch, I use a shine mist. I love that this product makes my hair highly laminating. It protects hair from heat styling and environmental factors. It also tames frizz and treat split ends which is great because I can't comb my hair.

Products shown:

  • Hair Treats Hair Coat (Macadamia Oil) - available at Watsons and SM Beauty
  • Professional Touch Salon Styling Mousse (Extreme Hold) -  available at Watsons and SM Beauty
  • Dove Damage Therapy Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse - purchased at Puregold Duty Free, Subic
  •  Citre Shine Anti-Frizz Spray Laminator - purchased at Duty Free

I guess what I'm trying to say to you guys earlier is that take care of your hair. Think and research first before doing a style, treatment or trend. It's just about the look. It's always better to have healthy looking hair than to look stylish but full of damage. Anyways, I'll go ahead now. I hope you learned something from this too. Thanks for reading. Have a great day. Bye! :) XOXO
