Delightful Illusions

No, I didn't get married. My cousin was. Haha! I am anticipating that you would be thinking that I did get married basing on the title of this post. Haha! By the way, how's my fellow countrymen? Is everybody safe? Please take care, we might not know what would the Typhoon Ruby/Hagupit would bring to the Philippines. :)

Yesterday was my cousin's wedding, which we all felt happy for her considering that her age is already over at the calendar. :) Sorry, cousin. :D Anyways, that was just a civil wedding. I honestly didn't what would I wear since I know my cousins love to dress-up and I wasn't sure if they would wear something casual or semi-formal. Haha!

For the top, I decided to wear this cream-white chiffon sleeveless and tucked it in with a aqua blue circle skirt. As you can see, the top has pearl and faux rhine stones embellishment at the neckline. I didn't wear a necklace since the embellishment served as one. I got the skirt from Zalora, which I featured on my previous post: ZALORA - Pre Holiday Outlet Sale ( Up to 80% off).

My shoes wasn't originally this. I was wearing a silver ballet flats, but I saw that my cousins were wearing heels. So I a borrowed a wedge from my cousin. I didn't want to be out of place. Haha! :) These white wedges with ruffled ribbon-like and studded heels were from bought from eBay. II'm sorry, I forgot the brand. :D

My only accessories were a pair of ginormous pearl earring that I received as a gift from my cousin and a silver "balls" bracelet from my mom. My makeup was really simple since I was not the bride. I don't want to overdo it. Haha! :D

This the overall look. I think that the pieces pretty matched each other. Haha! What do you think? Did I do a good job? :) I was actually trying to imitate JoJo Levesque at this pose. It was a fail. Haha!

I wanna thank my boyfriend for being my photographer at this day's post. Thanks, baby! :* Haha! Please let me know if you have any requests, suggestions, comments, or anything. I'll try my best to do an action on it as soon as possible. Please take care and be safe. Let's pray for everybody's safety during Typhoon Ruby. Love you all. XOXO

Hello, there! How's your weekdays going on? Mine's pretty much busy. If you have read my previous post (OOTD: 09/15/13), then you know that I was at San Jose, Antique last weekend. I attended my nephew's birthday party and baptism. I also mentioned on my last post that I went to their Gaisano for some sale shopping since I can't go to SM Iloilo. That would be a 2 hours and 30 minutes drive.

The past week was like a sale week because most of the malls I know had a 3-day sale (13,14,15). I wanted to buy some clothing stuff but didn't have the chance to have a shopping trip at any mall. Luckily, San Jose had a Gaisano. I told my granny if could just see what's inside the mall before we head home. As we went to the Department Store, I was amazed by the clothes they have on stock. They're all trendy and of good quality. Not like the ones you see at RTW stores.

I was in search for a pair of flats that will match any outfit when I stumbled upon this glittery shoes. It has a somewhat like a fish net detailing at both sides. It's comfortable to the feet. What's nice about this is that it's glued well and won't easily fall apart. I know a made-well shoes when I see one (I learned a lot from my experiences). Can you believe that this is just Php 199? Yeah, not kidding. Actually,  most of their flats are Php 199. I was even more surprised when I found out that most of their fashion items at the department have a discount of 10%. Isn't that awesome?

After getting the shoes, I strolled around the dress section. I was scanning the dresses and their prices (yeah, that's just so me) , when I saw this navy blue lace dress with open shoulder top and high-low bottom for only Php 319. But then, I only paid Php 287.10 because of the 10% discount. Exciting! I have tried this on and looks good on me. The wing-like sleeves cover my arms perfectly and the cut-out accentuates my broad shoulders. I plan on wearing this during Christmas. I still can't find it in my heart to wear red colored clothes because I'm still saddened by my papa's death (I miss my old man so much, yesterday was his 1st death anniversary). :(

Moving on, I bought another high-low dress in a light brown chiffon fabric with Aztec print. Finally, I went for something in trend. Haha! I usually gravitate on simple and basic prints. I like this a lot, it fits perfectly. The top isn't baggy and the zigzag stripes doesn't emphasize my broad physique. The bottom part is pleated. The band cinches my waist. I think the glittery shoes and this dress will look cute together. What do you think, guys? This was originally Php 299, marked down to Php 269.10. Amazing, eh?

This last fashion item is my highest score on this shopping trip. I was about to pay my purchases when I passed by on a rack of purses. My eyes caught this authentic Mango purse in green. It was originally Php 1495, marked down to Php199. To be sure, I checked the inside details. I jaw dropped when I found that this was genuine. My cousin has a similar sling purse also from MNG and the lining inside is a floral cloth. It still has the price tag in Euro. Without any second thoughts, I bought this. I wouldn't let the opportunity pass. Haha! What do you think of the bag? I think this would also match the Aztec dress and the glittery shoes.

Lastly, I got a set of hair ties. They didn't have a discount. I still got them because my instinct told me that they're in a good quality. Haha!

All in all, my total bill was only Php 993. For five items! If my calculation is correct, I saved Php 1379. A huge saving! Oh yeah! I'm so proud of my self. *Taps my back. Haha! This made me so enlightened. :D

We went to SM yesterday and I did a little shopping. I'll post a picture of my mini haul on my page. I'll put my links below. I hope you'll check my page. I always update it with pictures. Did you enjoy my haul? Let me know. Also, if you have a similar post, don't hesitate to leave your link. I'll check and read yours. Thank you so much for reading. Have a nice day. Stay safe. XOXO

Hello, there! Welcome to my first segment of Fashion Finds, where I feature favorite items from various stores mostly at affordable prices. In this first post, I will we talking about my fashion finds accumulated from thrifting. I have written a similar post on my previous blog and readers liked it and so I decided to make another one. I hope new readers will this too. :D

A lot of Filipinos, from lower to upper class, loves shopping at Ukay-Ukay stores (Thrift stores) because of the great bargains they could find like finding high end items, sometimes unused and still tagged. I remember spotting a Versace pants when I visited Magarbo. Unfortunately, the piece was small for me. But, I have also scored on brands like GAP, Marks&Spencer, Christian Dior, Juicy Couture, Fila and Levi's. It just really depends on how you handle your clothes to make it not look like from the thrift store. I could be cheapskate at times. :)

The first item I'm gonna show you is a knitted sleeveless top that I got from our local market, the ukay-ukay is held at our town's gymnasium. The price ranges from Php 1-60 per piece. I got this top for Php 10 and it's from the brand Le Fumoir. Maybe it's French, I'm not really sure.

This piece has a simple structure and easy to dress up or down, it's comfortable to wear and the details are cute. The beads at the neckline look like a necklace. I use simple accessories when wearing this one.

Next is a pair of pants I got from a thrift store somewhere in Marymart Mall. Sorry, I forgot the name of the  shop. :D It's a tattered jeans in acid wash. I got this together with another 3 items for Php 150.

Since it has a long slit, I've sewn it in a rugged-looking manner using a gray thread. Gladly, it went with the rips. It's from the brand Kubense. Sounds like Japanese. What do you think guys?

I wear this almost every time we travel through roro bus because it's surprisingly comfortable to wear even for 24 hours straight. Maybe it's with the fabric. Plus, the details are adorable. My aunts asked me where did I buy this because they said this is nice.

Then, I have hear a denim jacket from the brand Snidel. I bought this from Magarbo for Php 100. It's also in an acid wash just light in color.

The details of this item are super adorable. The sleeves has a floral accent which surrounds it and was lengthened to form a tie. A little bit kid-ish but goes well with my dresses. I was inspired by Demi Lovato to wear denim jacket over a girly dress.

Here's a picture of me wearing the jacket with a polka dot dress. This was taken last June 24 at Ocean Adventure. Throwback Thursday! Yay! :D What can you say about the outfit? Any suggestions?

I bought this skirt somewhere in San Jose, Antique. My cousins knows a person who sells new/used items from the US. So, her lawn looks like a thrift store. Her clothing items had different prices, depending on the condition and what brand. I spotted this stripe pink, candy-looking skirt from GAP. Isn't this the cutest?

It's a little big for me. But it's okay since I can tuck my shirts inside this skirt. I pair this with plain to minimum-printed shirts. Since there's a lot going on in this skirt, it's best to match it with something that doesn't contrast to the print.

OMG! This next piece screams G-L-A-M-O-U-R. The structure, cute, fabric and just every thing with it is perfect. I love that it has a high-low cut which was placed in an unusual position. I was lucky enough to find this at Magarbo. It's unused, still has tag attached to it. It was only Php 100. I would say that is by far the best bargain I had. This skirt reminds me of Tinker Bell.

The color is somewhat muted but that's the advantage because it can be paired with almost anything. By the way, this is from Como. A fail model picture of the skirt. I'm sorry, it was out of focus. Do you like the skirt too?

Finally, the last I have here is a unique dress from Izzue. This is also bought from Magarbo for Php 100. It's a glitzy navy blue dress with sparkly studs attached to it. I don't know, but I think this dress seems to be Korean in style.

The best part of the dress? The bottom! It has lace and looks like a tutu. I've worn this last Christmas and people at the mall were staring at the dress constantly. I paired it with a doll shoes and curly bob. Looked so cute! Would you wear something like this?

Did you like this post? Tell me by leaving a comment below. I really enjoyed taking pictures of these clothes and blogging about them. Please if you have any request/s, don't hesitate to tell me. I will do my best to do them. I've got to go now. Talk to you on my next post. Have a nice day! XOXO
