Delightful Illusions

Hello, world! Welcome to my little world of beauty! :) How are you, guys? By the way, I decided not to post a birthday haul because I wanted to talk about something useful and worth of your time.Instead of a haul post, you will be reading about products that I use daily basis for my permed mane. Please watch for my next post if you would like to. It might be a makeup look with a tutorial. :)

My hair has been exposed to various chemicals for such a long time. I started dying my hair way back in 2010. Because grey hair had spread throughout and gotten visible, I have to put a solution to it. But I was so wrong. Dying the hair actually contributes more grey hair in the long run. So I had to dye every once in a while to cover up. Then, just last year, I started using hot tools for styling without any protection (because of laziness). And after that, I went to a salon and have my hair rebonded, it became more thin than my actual mane.. The result? Even more damaged hair It was the most neglected part of my self, no treatment at all, not even conditioner. Oh my goodness, I was so cruel to my hair. By the end of last year, I have to cut it short and I opted for a bob hairstyle. I was so bored of it and after two months I have to cut it again. Then, last July, I had my hair permed (with cellophane treatment) so I would get rid of the thin-haired look.

I'm loving my hair style right now and I've never been so attentive my hair's needs before. I even came up with a daily hair care routine. I guess, I learned my lesson. Hehe! So, today, I'm gonna show you my hair products and tell you some tips for permed hair. Enough of blabbering. Let's go...

A good hair day always starts at the shower. It's important to clean your hair to remove dirt, oiliness and dandruff (in some cases). I use Head & Shoulders because it's the only anti-dandruff shampoo that works for me and it also cleanses my hair pretty well. Then for my condition, I use the Dove Damage Therapy Intense Repair. It treats damaged hair and split. I love it so much and I already bought a second tube.

I always start styling with a damp hair, drying the excess water with a towel.
As a rule of the thumb, permed hair should not be comb through it.  I stopped combing  right where my waves start.

Using my both hands, I coat my waves with a Macadamia oil evenly. I'm really careful not to touch my scalp when using this because it will cause greasiness. It's great  for on the go hair. It makes my hair soft, shiny and tangle free. It also helps protect the hair.

To enhance my my waves, I use a styling mousse. I use this one if I will just be around the house. It volumizes my hair, giving me a Hermoine Granger look. It contains Pro Vitamin B5 for a healthy hair.

Whenever I go out, I use this mousse. It's the Dove Damage Therapy Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse.  I love how it makes my waves curly and soft. It has a nice clean smell.

A fair amount of mousse for a portion of hair would be nice. I style my permed hair by scrunching. Yeah, scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. :D

Then for the final touch, I use a shine mist. I love that this product makes my hair highly laminating. It protects hair from heat styling and environmental factors. It also tames frizz and treat split ends which is great because I can't comb my hair.

Products shown:

  • Hair Treats Hair Coat (Macadamia Oil) - available at Watsons and SM Beauty
  • Professional Touch Salon Styling Mousse (Extreme Hold) -  available at Watsons and SM Beauty
  • Dove Damage Therapy Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse - purchased at Puregold Duty Free, Subic
  •  Citre Shine Anti-Frizz Spray Laminator - purchased at Duty Free

I guess what I'm trying to say to you guys earlier is that take care of your hair. Think and research first before doing a style, treatment or trend. It's just about the look. It's always better to have healthy looking hair than to look stylish but full of damage. Anyways, I'll go ahead now. I hope you learned something from this too. Thanks for reading. Have a great day. Bye! :) XOXO

Hello there! Welcome to my blog! Today, I will be talking about my June favorites. As you know, June flew by so fast. It was just snapping my fingers, then, voila! It's gone. Anyways, I really enjoyed the past month, how about you? Okay, enough of blabbering. Let's get to the main topic of this post.

The first one is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick. I saw this lippy fist on YouTube, shown by a particular vlogger which I forgot. She raved about this product because of the long staying power of the stain. And yes, the stain lasts for hours. I love this because of the moisturizing and buildable consistency that it possess. The balm easily fades but as I said, the stain lasts. I plan to purchase the other shades. If you ever pass by these lippies, go and grab them! You won't be disappointed. :)

The next product I will be talking about is the Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in #4 Dark Gray. As the name of the product says, it's easy to apply. This doesn't have an opaque color which I really like because it looks natural on my brows. It's pretty much long lasting and the shape of the brows stays for hours.

The last makeup product I'm gonna talk about is the Glam Works Makeup Cleansing Wipes. It removes the makeup on my face with ease. It can also remove the waterproof mascara which seems really amazing considering that this is a drugstore item and it has a cheap price. It doesn't break me out or clog my pore. Two thumbs up for this product.

So were done with the makeup stuff. Let's now proceed to the skincare products. First is this Clean & Clear Deep Action Oil Control Cleanser. With this product, I can finally say that I've found what I've been looking for in a cleanser. It cleanses my face well, it smells good and it isn't drying. After washing, my skin feels clean, fresh and no trace of oil. Like it has been vacuumed. I'm happy that I paid for the product and not for the name.

My last favorite skincare product for this month is the Dove White Beauty Bar Soap. Oh my goodness! This soap is a skin saver! After just one week of using it, I've seen and felt the difference on my skin. My skin was dry and it looked flaky. But, after continuous use of this product, my skin got smooth and feels silky. The commercials speak the truth about the Dove Beauty Bars. You should try it and see it for yourself. You have seen on my previous haul post that I bought a pack of 8 of this soap. That's how I love this products!

Okay, were now done with the beauty stuff. I'll now about some of my fashion favorites. Lately, I've been wearing these 3 items together a lot. One is a ring that I bought myself a while ago. It's dainty and supah cute. I've worn this countless times. It looks like a small tiara on my finger. The other piece is a gold watch that my mama gave to me. I love how my outfit looks polished when I wear this. And the last piece is a faux rose gold bow necklace which I got from Forever 21. I have also shown this on my haul post. These pieces goes with any outfit I wear.

Lastly, I want to inform you all bout this fashion website that I have been for almost everyday. It's called Fashiolista  - a site where you can fashion finds on various online stores. Other people can see your loved items and can love them too which is really cool. You can also win items sponsored by different shops. If you are interested, visit the site for further details about Fashiolista. The membership is free. :)

That's it, my darlings. I know this post is lengthy. I'm sorry, but I really love talking. Hehe! :) If you have tried products that you want to share with me, please tell me by posting a comment on this post or by tweeting me. My links are listed at the left sidebar. Thank you so much for dropping by. Talk to you soon. Have a great day! :)

Hello! First of all, I want to apologize for being inactive the past week. I got sick, my fever was on and off, my muscles ached and I got rashes all over my body. I thought it was dengue because I was bitten by a mosquito on my right leg last Monday morning. A CBC test was done and thankfully, it was negative. My mom said it could be German measles because they have similar symptoms. I'm doing well know though my joints still ache a bit. :)

Today, I'm going to show you the fashion items and beauty products I bought recently. I went back and forth to the mall these past couple of weeks to search and buy items that were on sale. SM North Edsa had a huge sale which started last last week. All of the boutiques had discounts and I couldn't just let it pass because I'm a shopaholic and discount is my best friend. Please be reminded that I didn't get these items in one day and I'm in no way bragging.

Last June 12, Independence Day, I bought a dark maroon minaudiere from Mags. I wanted a bag like this for so long because I'm tired of bringing big ones when I go shopping. I wanted something that's easy to carry on my shoulders but still look stylish. I opted for this one because it's simply cute and would look good on any outfit. It was originally around 800 bucks but they had 10% discount on their bags. I'm sorry, I forgot the exact prices. :)

We went back to the mall  during Father's Day and they still had sale and so I didn't let the opportunity to pass. I was eyeing the buy 1 take 1 for Php 495  promo of Jellybean and I've seen at my previous visit that most of them were bottoms. I decided to go back and purchase jeans because I haven't bought one in more than half a year.  I went there and tried some of their pants. Nothing would fit me and they were running out of stock. So, I searched again and I found a maxi skirt and a cotton flare pants. I didn't like either of them on me because still nothing looked good on me. I really wanted to avail the promo so I searched again. I found two skirts that I thought would look well on me and I bought them. No more fitting because I was already tired. Hehe! :D

Then, this Sunday I went to SM again to score on some cute items. I was strolling around and got dizzy because the mall is always crowded with people. I decided to check Forever 21's accessories. I got a pale faux gold bow necklace for 105 bucks. It's adorable and delicate. Perfect for everyday wear!

Then I went to Genevieve Gozum to buy some cute belts. I was eager to have belts fitted on my waist for accenting my dresses. And luckily, I saw this skinny stretchy belts for 50 bucks each. By the way, they have cute locks!

That's it for the fashion stuff. Now, we will jump in to the beauty products. I just what I needed. There's no single makeup item which is something to proud of! Yay! :) I don't want this post to be super lengthy I'll just show the products.
ESKINOL Oil Control Facial Deep Cleanser and Dove White Beauty Bars
Clean&Clear Deep Action Cleanser and Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner

And that's it. If you have questions about the items shown above please ask. I'll respond ASAP. Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope you enjoyed. Have a great day! Talk to you soon. Bye. :D
