Delightful Illusions

Choosing what makeup products to bring on a travel is kinda hard. Really, it's hard. I was one of those people who would bring my entire collection on a trip. Yes, I was ridiculous like that. Haha! I used to bring my makeup collection on trips when I was college; when I was just started collecting makeup and got addicted to them. I have always brought stuff that I haven't even used on my travels. It was unwise and wasn't practical at all. I already my learned my lesson and I am very much confident that my travel makeup bag nowadays contains products that are multi-functional, light to carry and versatile in terms of color and usability.

I am showing you today the makeup items that I brought when we traveled to Boracay Island (link here) last month. Most of the products I brought were the makeup items I am currently panning in 2018. The only bag I brought with me to store my makeup is the one shown above. You might be wondering why it's small and how could worth of full-faced makeup products have fitted in there, right? I am the type of person to travel lightly and I don't want anything unnecessary or things I know I won't be using on the trip. Anyways, I have this makeup bag since 2015 and it's my favorite to travel with. I know the faux leather has already peeled off on some parts but I just can't let go of this one yet. Haha!

I stored the brushes I brought in this little brush pouch that came in when I purchased a makeup brush set a long time ago. Keep the guys, they're really useful in travels or makeup gigs you have. I know this pouch is a mini one and the brushes I could bring are limited to a lesser quantity; I love it though because I get to pick the brushes that I really love and use them on more than one purpose.

Face Brushes
  • Mini blush brush - I this for my mini blush from the The Balm California Palette which will be shown on the late part of this post. Then pan is really small, it's like a sample blush and my regular-sized blush brushes doesn't pick up a lot of products if use them on that particular product. I also used this to apply the loose setting powder I brought on the trip.
  • E.l.f Blush Brush - I used this to contour and bronze my face. It's a blush brush it works just fine on contouring my face as well.
  • Large eyeshadow brush - Though it's meant to be an eyeshadow brush, I use this to apply highlighter on my face. It blends the product really well and the bristles are soft. This is my new favorite highlighter brush.

Eyebrow Grooming

  • I brought the spoolie to brush my brows and an angled liner brush to apply shadow on my brows. I live for a natural look and these tools give the best natural effect.

Eyeshadow Blending

  • Wet n' Wild Crease Brush - The best crease brush ever! I need to try their other brushes. What do you recommend?
  • Target Smudger Brush - I used this to blend the shadows below my lower lash line.
  • San San Eyeshadow Brush - I used this to blend the shadows on my upper lids and crease, to smooth out the harsh lines.

Eyelid Brushes

  • Angled Liner Brush - I used this to set my eyeliner with a black eyeshadow
  • Pencil Brush - I used this to blend shadows on my outer-v
  • Flat Shadow Brushes - I used this to blend

Yeah, those are the only makeup brushes I brought on my trip. I also two sponges to blend my foundation which I already threw away. It's gross to show you guys my dirty sponges. Haha!

Eyebrows

  • Avon Eyebrow Duo in Deep Brown  - This isn't my color anymore but this was the I brought since it didn't take a lot of space on the bag
  • E.l.f. Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown - Again, this isn't my color anymore. I don't like the formula but this in my Project Pan 2018 so I brought it.

Primer, Mascara and Liners

  • E.l.f. Eyeshadow Primer in Sheer - My holy grail eyeshadow primer! This is my 3rd one.
  • Essence Long Lasting Eyepencil in Black Fever - I like this eyeliner, not the best one but stays on my eyelid all day. It doesn't last long on my waterline.
  • Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in C'est Levie - a metallic silver that lasts all day on my waterline.
  • LOL Cosmetics Auto Eyeliner Pencil in Sea of Love - I thought this was perfect for the beach vibes. This is also included on my Project Pan
  • MAC Haute & Naughty Lash - It's not amazing, but isn't bad though. This is the only mascara I have that hasn't gone bad so this is the one that I brought.

Eyeshadows

  • These palettes look familiar because the #SELFIE Palette is the one I'm using for my Pan That Palette 2018 (link here) and the Ever Bilena Brown Palette is included on my Project Pan Porn 2018 (link here). I won't be showing the shadows since they will spoil my upcoming project updates. :)

Lippies

  • Pinkies Collection Lasting Lip Liner in Galactic - This isn't included on my project pan. I just brought it to have a cool toned brown lip liner. It's so creamy!
  • Avon Simply Pretty Lip Liner in Nude - It's a nice warm nude shade. I have already thrown this away because it's old and pretty close to being gross. :D
  • Lipz Diva Creamy Matte Lipstick in Like A Virgin - My go-to pink shade for everyday use.
  • MAC Matte Lipstick in Love Me - Another pink nude option that I brought. It's creamy and smells so sweet!
  • Essence Sheer Lipstick - A dark red almost lip-gloss lipstick that looks nice on top of lip liners. This is included on my project pan as well.
  • Careline Liquid Lipstick in Glaze - My favorite nude mauve lip shade! So versatile it pairs well with different lip liner shades.

Blush, Highlight, and Bronzer

  • The Balm Autobalm California Palette - The blush and highlight is included in my Project Pan. The blush has a pink flush which is suits my light skin. The highlight looks pretty when blended. Love the combo!
  • Fashion 21 Blush Duo - I used this warm up my skin.

Base, Foundation, Concealer and Setting Powder

  • Olay Natural White Day Cream in Light - I used this as a moisturizer
  • Missha Layer Blurring Pore Cover Primer - a silicon-based primer that works pretty well in making my makeup last all day
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation in Warm Nude - I like this foundation and thought it would be nice to bring this with me to Boracay
  • Ever Bilena Perfect Undereye Concealer - A thick concealer for daily use
  • 3CE Clinic Professional Natural Makeup Powder - I haaaattttteeee this powder. It clings on to the dry patches on my skin. I'm trying to use this up as part of my Project Pan.
Those are the makeup items I brought on my travel to Boracay. It was a 4-day trip and the amount of products I brought were fit for the days we were there. I wanted to keep my makeup really simple and basic since I'm not comfortable doing my makeup when I'm not on my own house. I tend to be conscious and shy doing my makeup around with my workmates. Who feels the same way? Haha!

Please stay tuned for my next posts because I will share my update for the Pan That Palette and the makeup items I have decluttered. I have been feeling uninspired lately that's why I haven't posted in almost 3 weeks. I apologize for my absence! I hope you liked this post and If you have anything to share or suggest, please leave me a comment. Thank you much for stopping by. Have a nice day ahead! XOXO

Boracay Island is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Philippines. I have been in this island for 9 times already and I noticed the obvious and somehow saddening changes that happened on Boracay. This island used to be full of nipa hut cottages, no Starbucks or other buildings, no pollution, not overcrowded and boats used to land on the seashore. 11 years has passed and the beach front has been covered with hotels, expensive restaurants, prostitutes at night, overpriced merchandise and just crowded in general. It went from being virgin to over used. :(

We went to Boracay for work this week and we were able to make use some of our time to enjoy the sunset, affordable food and just chilling around. Our accommodation, transportation and food were free so we haven't spend that much money on this trip. Haha! Anwyays, if you are interested on my trip, then just keep scrolling.

Day 1

We left Iloilo at 6 am last Monday and arrived at the island around 12:30 pm. It was a long road trip but we enjoyed the view and it's all worth it. Upon the arriving at the port, we paid our tickets and rode the boat.

It was no-makeup day for me since I left home at 5:30 am and didn't have enough time to put makeup on.

Best Western Boracay Tropics (Station 2)
The place we stayed in was the Boracay Tropics, located at Station 2. It was a nice resort with good ambiance, amazing pool and accommodating staff. The roomed we stayed in was spacious and comfortable and we really enjoyed the stay.

The pool was really inviting.

After taking our lunch, our activity started. We had various activities including knowing each other, mental health de-stressing and making a life tree. I appreciated the light and unburdening topics and activities on the first day.

My group and I strolled around the beach front after eating dinner and charging our phones a little bit. There's a really luxurious hotel beside Boracay Tropics called Station X. The building was built in a circular design with a gigantic pool at the ground floor with a bar at the front part. The pool was inviting but unfortunately it is exclusive for the hotel guests.

The guards allowed us to take pictures but they looked at us sharply when we further on the restricted area. We backed down and went out of the area because we might cause a scene and we don't want to embarrassed. Haha!

The lighting changes every few seconds. Cool!

Talipapas (markets) are everywhere around the island. Locals sell souvenirs, swimming accessories and a lot. Prices varies from seller to seller and it's  best to look around first for cheaper costs before you go on a shopping spree.

The dresses they sell are really cute but didn't have a big allowance for this trip so I just looked at them. Haha! Not going to fall for my impulses; it's bad for the bank account! Haha!

There are restaurants and places you can chill beside the seashore. It's a relaxing place to be with at night with friends and love ones.

There's this hotel called Mandarin Hotel Boracay around Station 2 where a pool can be seen from the outside. I love staring at this pool whenever I pass by the place because it looks so dreamy and gives off romantic vibes. I checked their rates online and they are so expensive (in my perception)! I'm dreaming to stay at this hotel someday.

We got tired from walking and decided to have a break and drink some milk tea. I ordered an Oreo Milk Tea in regular size because I know I wouldn't finish the large one. It's really good!

After finishing our milk teas, we strolled around D'Mall and went back to the hotel. We were tired from the long road trip and slept early that night.

Day 2

Our activity finished early during Day 2. We wanted to see and capture the sunset and so we strolled along the seashore around 5 pm. Excuse the messy hair! Haha!

The best time for swimming on the beach would be near the sunset. It's not too hot nor cold; the lighting is perfect for OOTDs and selfies, and you wouldn't get a sunburn from swimming.

The sunset was beautiful.

The boats added to the beauty of the sunset.
The waves are so calm and gentle.

I love the pictures I took with the sunset. It's amazing to capture and there's no filter needed. I find sunsets really romantic. :)

Bamboo Shore was an affordable place to dine and chill after that walk. We had apple flavored beer and Hungarian Sausage.

The sausage tasted delicious; it was grilled, covered in mayonnaise and hot chili sauce. Didn't have any idea that the combination tastes good. Each sausage costs only 75 pesos, reasonable enough for Boracay! Yummy!

That genuine smile after eating the delicious Hungarian Sausage.

Then we went to this crepe shop called Crazy Crepes. There a lot of combinations and flavors to choose from and are amazingly affordable! I didn't want something too sweet and fattening so I went for Mango Banana Crepe.

So mouthwatering!!

My crepe was simplest of them all but it was also yummy. It has mango and banana slices with mango custard and crushed nuts. I thought it was a healthy choice for me. Haha! Visit this place if you ever have a chance. It's located at D'Mall. We went home after finishing the crepes.

Day 3

Our third day for the activity started after lunch so we had the time to lounge around the pool. The pool wasn't deep at all; the water was stopped rising below my eyes. The water was extremely cold though. I had goosebumps while swimming.

I didn't bring swimsuit and wasn't planning to wear one so I swam with my sleeveless top and nylon shorts. Don't get weirded out, Filipinos swim with this outfit. It's natural for us. I enjoyed my time swimming and felt relaxed afterwards.

We finished late that day and didn't have much time to look around. It was our co-workers birthday though and we decided to have a quick pizza party for her. We ate Shakey's; we ordered the Grand Slam pizza which contained their best-selling flavors in a gigantic sized, perfect for 7 people. The pizza had free pitcher of Coke.

The Scallop-flavored one is yummy. Try it!

We strolled again at the D'Mall that night and stopped by at this craft store. The store is called Bell N Blooms. They sell personalized accessories, knitted bikini tops and eye-catching dream catchers.

The main attraction of this store are the hand-sewn dream catchers. They have various designs to choose from and all them are gorgeous. The lady that are making them was there at the time we visited and she said that they have an online store and they have more designs on Instagram (link here).

This unicorn dream catcher is one of a kind and unique. It's the only piece and only sold at the store. This only costs 1,650 pesos. That's fair deal considering it's handmade and limited edition. My co-worker wanted to buy this but she decided not to. No to impulse buying. Haha! We went back to the hotel after visiting the shop.

Day 4

We went home last Thursday early on morning, around 7:30 o'clock. We haven't able to swim at the beach but we can always come back, right? :)

Bye Boracay!

On our way home, our driver diverted our route and went on a smoother course. He stopped our vehicle on a resort where the Jawili Falls is located.

There's  an entrance fee of 5 pesos if you want to climb the upper tiers. Since we don't have enough time to climb and explore, we just took pictures at first fall.

The place is beautiful. The water is clear. How I wished we could have swam on the first tier.

The Jawili Falls is located at Ibajay, Aklan. I'm planning to go back to this place and swim all day. The resort doesn't have any cottage to sleep with, so I guess this only for daytime to visit to. The water looks clean and isn't dangerous to dip into. Gosh! The water was so inviting!

We stopped by for 12 minutes and proceeded on our trip. I enjoyed my stay at Boracay even though I wasn't really thrilled with the major changes. I hope you liked this lengthy post and stay tuned for more. If you have any suggestions for travel destinations around Panay Island, please let us know on the comments section. I would love to explore Panay Island more. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day! :) XOXO
