Delightful Illusions

Hey, guys! How are you? I apologize for my inactivity the past month because I took my Comprehensive Exam last August 1 and 2. I'm currently taking Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling and I recently finished all of my subjects so I took the Comprehensive Exam. I concentrated in reading my notes so I wasn't able to blog a lot on July. Anyways, I decided to start another project which I call Finish 14 by Valentine's Day. This project is done through a roulette style where I have picked up 14 product categories in a draw lot manner. My goal is to use up 14 products by February 14 next year and I have tweaked the rules a little bit. Instead of focusing only on the products that I have picked up, I'll be picking another category whenever I finish a product. It doesn't matter if I haven't finished all of the products I have picked up, as long as I get to finish 14 products by Valentine's Day. Do you get what I mean? :)

I started using the products for this challenge since last month and these shots were also taken last month. You will notice that some of this products are also included in my other project pan project; I want those products to be given an extended time to be finished since I want to use them up so bad and I don't want to just throw them away. I you want to know what categories I have picked up and the product I have chosen, just keep on reading.

A nail polish! Whoo! This product is so opaque and dries quickly. Why is this called Blueberry? Haha! I've used this in a nail art and looked so cute. See my thumb on the picture above, that's what this nail polish looks like on my nails. I am hoping to finish this product since its old and I don't want to waste this because it was given to me by my cousin as a Christmas gift.

Let's see if I can finish this eyeshadow which is also included in my Pan That Palette Challenge 2016. This is one of my favorite eye shadows of all time because it makes my brown eyes pop.

I only have 2 MAC products in my collection and both of them are eye shadows. I chose Honey Lust because this has always been neglected. It's a high quality eyeshadow; it's pigmented, blendable and so glittery in a good way. I have been using this lately as a topping on my lids and loving it so far. I do not anticipate in finishing this product by Valentine's Day because that is just impossible. What I'll do is to use this as much as I can and see if I can hit the pan. ;)

Daaaammmmmnnnnnn, another eyeshadow! What can I do? This is a draw lots sampling method! Haha! I like this shadow for the lids but I have other shadows that I need to focus on. I don't think I would use up this product as well. Maybe a hit pan too?

Another eyeshadow! This matte pink shade would be really nice as a transition color. To be honest, ever since I started this project I have not yet used it on my looks. I kind of forgot about this one. How couldn't I? A lot of eyeshadows are inculded in my project pans. Haha! Maybe I could finish this one by February 14. :)

I am loving this concealer so far. The coverage is medium to full, has creamy and thick consistency, stays all through the day and doesn't break me out. The only problem I have with this is the shade. I got the darkest one! I was supposed to get number 2 but I got this instead. If I blend this properly, the shade difference isn't visible at all. Overall, a great product. I am hoping to finish this by Valentine's Day.

My holy grail mascara. I have talked about this for so many times now and I'm not gonna elaborate anymore. This my 4th tube and I don't see any problems in using this one up. What's a mascare? Haha! Sorry for the typo. :D<3 nbsp="" p="">

This is one of those products that I really really love but haven't talked about yet. This is my favorite liquid liner from the drugstore. The product itself is pigmented, stays put all throughout the day, doesn't budge but is so easy to remove. This product doesn't claim to be waterproof nor long lasting but it does a great job in staying in place. This comes with a felt tip applicator which makes the application process easier. Yes, it's a felt tip applicator in a wand. Unique, right?

This eyeliner is included in my Products I Want To Use Up in 2016 Challenge and currently being worked in progress. I will not talk about this product anymore because I do updates on the other challenge. As long as I get to finish this liner, I'm good with that.

Another product that is all included in my Products I Want To Use Up in 2016 Challenge. :)

A nice lotion for everyday hydration. I finished this one last night. Yay! I have picked another category and will be shown on my update. Stay tuned for that. :)

You've seen the palette countless times. I'm sorry! This also included in my Products I Want To Use Up In 2016 Challenge.

You've seen this product a countless times as well. Well, I hope I could finish this even before the Valentine's Day comes. :)

Monomola Long Lasting Lip Color in Cherry Red - this is one of those famous lip tattoos that you apply on your lips, let it dry for 10-15 minutes, and peel it off. I hate this product because it takes time, the color payoff isn't satisfying and isn't long lasting at all. I'll throw this away after this project ends. That's how awful it is.

Those are the products I have chosen for this challenge. This is really challenging since I have no control on the product categories picked. I'll do maybe 2-3 updates before the finale. The goal of this challenge is to use up 14 products before on February 14, 2017. I am hoping for this project to successful as I have failed on my past attempts. Please stay tuned for the updates and witness my journey as I go on with this challenge. :)

Are you doing this challenge too? What are your thoughts about it? Please let us know by leaving a comment down below. Comments, suggestions, and reactions are always welcome and encouraged. :) Thank you so much for reading and dropping by. Have a great day. Stay safe. XOXO

Hi! :) It's been two months since I have given my last update on this year's Pan That Palette Challenge. This update is going to be exciting because I'll show two more of the shadow I have it pan on the last two months. You know what this means? I'll be working on just two shadows only! Yay! I'm so happy that I have hit pan on 4 shadows for 4 months of continued usage of the palette. :) Hard work and focus does really pay off. If you are interested on this update, just keep on reading.

Shade 1 - I have finally hit the pan on this shimmery white shadow. Oh my goodness! This eyeshadow has surprisingly broader pan than the gold eyeshadow beside it. I have using this as my inner corner highlight often, maybe that's why I've hit pan on it so quickly. I have reached my goal for this shadow! Yay! :) I won't be touching this shadow for quite a while because I want to focus on another light shade included in this palette that you will see later.

Shade 2 - I haven't used this gold shade that much for the past two months because I was focusing on shadows that I haven't reached the pan yet. There's a little bit of progress though; the pan got a little wider and the bottom got a flatter. This eyeshadow has a lot of glitter chunks and fallout, for your information. I dip my brush into this shadow, spritz a generous amount of face mist, and tap this on the top of my lid color. This looks gorgeous as an eyeshadow topper. My goal for this month is just to keep using on this product.

Shade 3 - I have used this pale green shade on my inner corners the past month and looked it so nice. This shadow is subtler than the first shadow I have talked about. This is the hardest shade to work on this palette because it so sheer, and doesn't really have a nice pigmentation. I don't know how I'll be able to hit pan on this shadow just yet. Maybe use as an eyeshadow topper as well? Haha! My goal for this month is to have a deeper dip.

Shade 4 - Another green eyeshadow that seems to be really hard on hitting the pan. This isn't a poorly pigmented shadow; this so pigmented that have to be careful on using this on my outer-V or lower lash line because it give a lot of smokiness to the eyes. I want to use this a as main lid shadow but I think that this is way too much for everyday makeup. This eyeshadow would be good for parties and events, just not on for everyday wearable look. Anyways, there's a dip going on this shadow and I'm hoping to have hit pan on this by the next update.

Shade 5 - Another successful goal! I have flatten the surface of this taupey-pink shadow and widen the pan. I have cleared the cracks on the surface and used a ton of this eyeshadow for the past two months. This shadow is so beautiful on lids; it makes my brown eyes pop and glowing. This one of the unique shades in my life and I'm just don't wanna use it up yet because I still enjoy this shadow.

Shade 6 - I have not touched this olive green shadow in a while because I focused on the ones I haven't hit pan on yet.

Shade 7 - I was just supposed to have deeper dent on this shadow, but I have actually hit pan on this. This is so crazy! Haha! This a beautiful blue shadow; I use this on my outer-v and lower lash line most of the times to give my eye looks some accent. I intend on using this eyeshadow as an overall lid shade in the near future.

Shade 8 - There's nothing special here because I haven't used this a lot because I have already hit the pan last year.

This what the palette looks like from the last update...

...and this is what the palette looks right now. Quite a progress, huh?

That's my update for the past couple of months. My major goal is to hit pan on the two shadow s remaining. I have other project going on and that includes another eyeshadow palette. I'm currently focusing on finishing the other palette. It's June and I have still 6 months on these eyeshadows. I don't plan on finishing the entire palettes; I just plan on finishing 4 shades (if possible). I'm enjoying this challenge and I think that I'm doing good so far.

If you have any questions, requests, or suggestions, please tell me on the comments section. :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read and browse this blog. I hope you enjoyed the update and stay tuned for the next. I hope you are having a great day. Stay safe. XOXO

Hey, guys! Welcome to my new post. Today, I will be showing you the makeup items I have bought for the past couple of months. One of the the challenges I am doing this year is the Project Makeup Low Buy which aims to control my impulsive shopping for makeup, invest on some good makeup brushes and save money. I am allowing myself to buy one makeup item per month, two products if there are sales going on. I am doing good so far, but I just can't that 1 product per month rule. It's just not working for me. Haha! I will not make this post long so I'll go ahead. If you are interested on products I hauled, just keep on reading. :)

March Items:

iWhite Korea BB. Holic Everyday BB Cream (Light). I bought this because I was thinking of doing a First Impressions Review; I didn't get a chance thought because I didn't have any time to focus on doing so. I opened this about a couple of weeks ago and I like it so far. It has light coverage; lightened my under eye dark circles, gives a smooth finish and smells like peaches. Oh my goodness!! I love how it feels light on my skin and the fact that it has SPF10 PA+. This product would be nice for school as it is perfect for everyday use. It doesn't claim to be oil-controlling so I'm not so sure if this will suit for oily skin. I also do not know if this does last long because I put a cake powder on top. Why don't you give it a try to see if you'll like this too? This is just a trial pack and it's only Php 24.50.
AVON Simply Pretty Lip Defining Pencil (Nude). I have mentioned this lip liner on my March 2016 Favorites post so I'm not gonna talk long about this product anymore. I love this product so much and I recommend this to all the people who are looking for a good and affordable nude lip liner. To know more about this, read my post here.

QUICK FX CC Cream. I bought this together with BB Cream I have shown above; I got them on the same day actually. I used this a few times and I like this. It seems to be like a primer as it smooths my skin prior to foundation application. I'm not really sure with the color correct property this product claims since I don't have any redness on my face. The product itself comes off as a light mint green which is used to correct redness around the face. One this I don't like about this is the thickness on its consistency; it feels heavy on my skin and gives a sticky feeling. If you have a normal or dry skin, this product would be nice for you.

Ever Bilena Advance Blush and Bronzer Duo (Golden Goddess). Lastly, I bought this blush and bronzer duo because people raves about this new products from Ever Bilena. This new additional products to the line came out around January and people were hauling them. This brand has stepped-up the game on their makeup; this brought so much excitement and joy to the people because another affordable makeup products with good quality has entered the market. After a couple months, I decided to jump into the bandwagon and try this particular product because this is the one that kept my interest the most. I have swatched the other duos the have and this is the one I liked (second from my first choice). My first choice was actually out of stock so I picked this one. I love how the bronzer is not overwhelming; I could definitely use this for contouring and get away with it without being noticed. It's matte, not powdery, super soft and glides into the skin smoothly. The blush is gorgeous as it gives a golden sheen on the cheeks; you don't need a highligther with this product. It's not powdery as well and not glittery at all. This duo is good for light-skinned people. Give this a try and you'll love it.

April Items:

The Balm Autobalm Face California Palette. My wish has been granted! I have finally got this on my hands! The product I have been eyeing over the past couple of years! Haha! I was browsing on e-bay last month and I saw this palette being on a bid starting for only Php 230. I was so happy and when it was relisted, I decided to bid. Luckily, I was the only who seem to be interested on this palette so I grabbed my chance to have this. This has mixed reviews on the internet; some didn't like how the powders are not pigmented enough and some liked the products came in this palette. I swatched these powders and I must say that these aren't the most pigmented. except for the crease/liner shade though. I like blush as it gives a natural flush on my cheeks. The higlighter gives a sheer sheen. The lid shade is so good as a transition shade. The crease/liner shadow is perfect for doing a smokey look and lower lash line accent. Overall, I love this palette. I will continue experimenting on this palette to give an in-depth review.

AVON Super Extend Extreme Mascara (Black Brown). I don't like this mascara at all! It's not super extending at all. It's just a regular mascara, in an expensive price. I paid Php 299 for this and I didn't get what I paid for. The wand is so weird; it's big and the brush is sparse. I don't think this applicator will give a extended look. Don't buy this. You'll get pissed. Boo!

Those are the products I bought in March and April. I know, I didn't follow my own rules. I'm sorry! But I did good in not spending too much money on makeup. Yay! If you want an in-depth review on any of these products, please let me know. I will gladly do it. I hope you enjoyed reading and learned something in this post. If you have any questions or suggestions, you are welcome to leave a comment. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you are having a great day. Stay safe. XOXO

Project Makeup Low Buy is challenge I have imposed on myself that I should do this year. This project aims to control my makeup purchases per month and save money. I committed to purchase 2 makeup products at most per month; I excluded mascara because I only buy 1 at a time. I promised to show all the products I bought and give reviews.

February was the month where I purchased 4 makeup products. Pretty bad, huh? I did not feel bad at all because I knew that I needed the products I bought. An office mate of mine asked me to do her makeup for the department's anniversary celebration, which was held last February 19. Knowing that I need to buy some things, I decided to break my own rules and went on a shopping spree. I picked up a black liquid eyeliner because I didn't have one; I picked up a soft brown brow liner shade because I didn't have any either. Anyways, if you are interested to know the products I bought and my thoughts about them, just keep on reading.

San San Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black)
I had this eyeliner before, like 6 years ago, and I loved it. I got the brown one during my college days; I remember this liquid eyeliner being easy to use and lasting all day long. I needed a good eyeliner for my office mate who asked me to do her makeup for an event. I used this on her mono lids and they liked the look on her. She is the type of girl who doesn't wear any makeup, not even lipstick.

Pigmentation is on its highest level -- vivid at one swipe. It has the typical felt tip applicator which kind of hard to control, on my part at least. The I really love about this product is the longevity. This stays all throughout the day; it doesn't smear and transfer. If you are looking for a good liquid liner that is affordable, get this one. It costs only Php 100. :)

Cherimoya Retractable Waterproof Lip & Liner Pencil (Mahogany)
Cherimoya is a makeup brand that I have never heard before. I saw these liners before, I got curious, I almost bought it, but I didn't. Then, just this February, I went back to the store Branded For Less and finally decided to try this one. I was in need of good lip liner and I thought that this product might work. Since I have been working on a dark berry lipstick for my project pan, I decided to pick this shade in Mahogany -- a deep mauve-brown color.

This has a creamy, thick consistency with a nice pigmentation. It feels thick on my lips, not smooth to apply on, and leaves small chunks of product. I think it pretty blends well with the Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape, which is currently on my project pan. Defined lips is what I see when I use this product. I like that seals my lipstick on place. I wouldn't say that I don't like this because I still haven't tried using this on my eyes. It's nice liner though.

Daiso Brow Liner Slim (Brown)
I'm not sure if that's the name of the product because it wasn't stated on the packaging. Annoying, eh? I bought this product for the spoolie brush that it came with. I have been meaning to buy a spoolie for my brows, so when I saw this I immediately bought this. I also needed a brown brow liner for my office mate; I didn't think she would jump into my strong brow game.
This has a soft touch on my brows; it's not dramatic nor pigmented. I like this when I feel like I need a more natural looking brows without the effort. I need to swipe a couple of times to see a color. The slanted shape is not good for defining although it's slim. This lasts a long time when worn alone. This is a perfect product for on-the-go moments. I recommend checking this one out.

Those are the makeup products I bought on February. I have mentioned that I bought 4 items but I have only shown 3. The other product has its own post; it's the First Impressions Review: Careline Oil Control Liquid Makeup. If you have any request for an in-depth review on any of these products, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. I will post my March products as soon as I have tried all the products I bought. Thank you so much stopping by. I'll talk to you tomorrow. I hope you are having a great day. Stay safe.

Hey, guys! I know, I know. I have for too long, I'm sorry. Work and practicum (for Graduate School) have almost killed me, made me sick, due to a busy schedule. This is the 4th week that I'm working on weekends and I'm starting to feel lazy. Have you ever felt like that? Haha! Anyways, I will be talking about the updates of my Products I Want To Use Up in 2016 Challenge. I started this project last January; I promised that to give updates every two months.

Of all the project pans I have done, this is by far the successful one, even though I'm just doing this for two months. I am actually using the products involved constantly; I am determined to finish what I have started this fine. My progress will be seen on the pictures you will see in a moment. If you are interested on my update, just keep on reading. :)

Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape (right) - I've been using this pinkish grape (according to the description) shade a lot since January. It looks way too dark, but I tell you, it has a light swatch on the lips. It's buildable and has creamy, thick consistency. As you can see, I have used this more than the lipstick on the left. I'm totally into this shade. I hope I could finish this at the end of the year. It's getting old.

Clinique Different Lipstick in Shy (left) - This is described as a midtone violet, which is kind of contrary in person. It swatches on my lips as a sheer plum-berry glossy shade. It feels like a lip gloss; has a higher amount of shine than the A Different Grape. They actually look similar; Shy is a sheer glossy version of A Different Grape. This product is a struggle for me, I can't use this alone because it's so sheer. I don't use this all the time. I doubt if I can even finish this lipstick this year. I'll see what I can do.

Etude House Look At My Lips in 04 - A pale pink shade which isn't really good-looking on my lips; doesn't match my skin tone quite well. Though it's nice to top on my dark lipsticks. I mainly this for topping and combing with other lipsticks. Maybe I could use this up at the 2nd or 3rd Quarter of the year.

San San Age Defense Lipstick in 03 - A peachy nude glittery lipsticks which smells like chocolate. I have used a lot of this the first time I got this. It blends in with other lip products nicely, though the glitter are kind of messy. Evidently, you can see how I love this lippy. I ought to finish this one because I don't want this to go bad. I will be done with this in a couple of months, I guess.

Mary Kay Eye Mineral Color in Honey Spice - You can see some deep going on there! I have used this as my main eye lid shade since the last week of January. It looks pretty and brightening. On the next update, maybe you'll see the pan already. Haha!

Ever Bilena Advance HD Eye Pencil in Natural Blonde - I love this as an eyeshadow base. It's thick consistency helps the eyeshadow to stick on the lids longer. I also notice less creasing upon checking up at the end of the day. Maybe I'll use this up in 3 months. Let's see.

AVON Glimmerstick Cosmic Eye Liner in Galactic Green - A glittery moss green eyeliner which sticks on my lash line all through out the day. I also use this as an eyeshadow base, at times. I still have a lot to use up. May you'll see a shorter stick on the next update.

Etude House Look At My Eyes Pearl Shadow Base - Yay! A wider pan. I used a good amount of this cream shadow base over the past 2 months. It tends to be glittery when I put too much on my lids. It goes way up to my crease when I blend this product on my eyes. I hope 50% of this base on the next update.

Etude House Look At My Eyes Cafe in Honey Milk - Umm.. I haven't got a significant progress on this one yet. I use this to highlight my brow bones. I need to get on the pan of this really quickly. I need to double time on this one.

Nichido Foundation Stick in Ivory - I'm almost there! I use this as a concealer on  my dark circles. It has tint of peach-orange, perfect for discoloration on my under eyes. I know I could use this one up towards the end of the year.

Elf Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder - This blush is another struggle for me. It's pretty, but the product itself is hard. It's sheer and glittery. In order to speed up, I use this on top of a shadow to create a peachy golden glow.

Revlon CustomEyes Shadow/Liner in Naturally Glamorous - I have saved the last product for the best. I have hit pan on 3 shadows in just 2 month! How satisfying is that!? I have this shadow palette for years, and I have just hit the pans recently. I'm happy though. Seeing the pan means your are getting closer to finishing it up. My target is to hit pan on the rest of the shadows this month; and wider pans on the next update.

REPLACEMENTS

The following products are replacements for the original items included on this challenge. My IN2IT Supreme Eyeliner was accidentally broken because I dropped it last last week. I didn't feel right in claiming that I have finished it so I picked up another item. Then, the Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color is actually gone bad; it's stiff and hard to use up. I picked another powder blush in replacement.

Elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink - This is the replacement for the Mary Kay blush. As you can see, I've already hit the pan; this was included on my last project pan challenge. I love this pink blush. It has glitters on it, but is barely visible on the skin. I might use this one up before the year ends. I not sure. Haha! :)

Maybelline Clear Smooth All-In-One Pressed Powder in Nude Beige - This is the replacement of the IN2IT eyeliner. I have this powder since last year and I have used a good amount of this product. This is the best powder for oily skin and it doesn't do what it claims. It's a decent powder for setting my face though. I'm quite sure that I can finish it up this year.

This concludes my update. I think that I'm doing a great job on this challenge this year. I'm now focused and determine to do my projects now. I'm hoping to have a greater job towards my next update. The next one will be on May, so stay tuned for that.

Are you doing beauty projects too? How is your experience so far? If you are interested on my next update, just follow this blog to keep you in touch. Thank you so much for taking the time to read. I'll talk to you soon. Have a great day. Stay safe. Love you all!
