Daily Products for my Permed Hair (Hair Care Routine)

Hello, world! Welcome to my little world of beauty! :) How are you, guys? By the way, I decided not to post a birthday haul because I wanted to talk about something useful and worth of your time.Instead of a haul post, you will be reading about products that I use daily basis for my permed mane. Please watch for my next post if you would like to. It might be a makeup look with a tutorial. :)

My hair has been exposed to various chemicals for such a long time. I started dying my hair way back in 2010. Because grey hair had spread throughout and gotten visible, I have to put a solution to it. But I was so wrong. Dying the hair actually contributes more grey hair in the long run. So I had to dye every once in a while to cover up. Then, just last year, I started using hot tools for styling without any protection (because of laziness). And after that, I went to a salon and have my hair rebonded, it became more thin than my actual mane.. The result? Even more damaged hair It was the most neglected part of my self, no treatment at all, not even conditioner. Oh my goodness, I was so cruel to my hair. By the end of last year, I have to cut it short and I opted for a bob hairstyle. I was so bored of it and after two months I have to cut it again. Then, last July, I had my hair permed (with cellophane treatment) so I would get rid of the thin-haired look.

I'm loving my hair style right now and I've never been so attentive my hair's needs before. I even came up with a daily hair care routine. I guess, I learned my lesson. Hehe! So, today, I'm gonna show you my hair products and tell you some tips for permed hair. Enough of blabbering. Let's go...

A good hair day always starts at the shower. It's important to clean your hair to remove dirt, oiliness and dandruff (in some cases). I use Head & Shoulders because it's the only anti-dandruff shampoo that works for me and it also cleanses my hair pretty well. Then for my condition, I use the Dove Damage Therapy Intense Repair. It treats damaged hair and split. I love it so much and I already bought a second tube.

I always start styling with a damp hair, drying the excess water with a towel.
As a rule of the thumb, permed hair should not be comb through it.  I stopped combing  right where my waves start.

Using my both hands, I coat my waves with a Macadamia oil evenly. I'm really careful not to touch my scalp when using this because it will cause greasiness. It's great  for on the go hair. It makes my hair soft, shiny and tangle free. It also helps protect the hair.

To enhance my my waves, I use a styling mousse. I use this one if I will just be around the house. It volumizes my hair, giving me a Hermoine Granger look. It contains Pro Vitamin B5 for a healthy hair.

Whenever I go out, I use this mousse. It's the Dove Damage Therapy Curl & Sculpt Defining Mousse.  I love how it makes my waves curly and soft. It has a nice clean smell.

A fair amount of mousse for a portion of hair would be nice. I style my permed hair by scrunching. Yeah, scrunch, scrunch, scrunch. :D

Then for the final touch, I use a shine mist. I love that this product makes my hair highly laminating. It protects hair from heat styling and environmental factors. It also tames frizz and treat split ends which is great because I can't comb my hair.

I guess what I'm trying to say to you guys earlier is that take care of your hair. Think and research first before doing a style, treatment or trend. It's just about the look. It's always better to have healthy looking hair than to look stylish but full of damage. Anyways, I'll go ahead now. I hope you learned something from this too. Thanks for reading. Have a great day. Bye! :) XOXO

  1. Thank you for this very informative post! :) I'm thinking of getting my hair permed but I don't know if this will be a good choice because I have thin long hair. I just think that since it will become curly, it will look a little bit thicker. What would you suggest? TIA :D

    1. Hello, Camy! Yes, it's a good choice for thin long hair. My hair was thin too. Actually, you will be asked if you want curls or just waves. It really depends on your style and taste. Though I guess voluminous curls would perfect for your hair type. :)

      Love, hugs and kisses.

  2. I want Vanessa Hudgens' curls :D My mother told me that she's afraid that the chemicals and the procedure itself will make my hair thinner. I think I should give it a try :) Thanks for the reply! Excited for more future posts! :D

  7. I just got my long hair permed.. I washed it already after 48 hours, after I've done some research on when will I wash my hair after it was permed. My problem now is that, when it is wet, it was really curly and looks so good. I always apply some hair polish right after I wash it. Sympre, dried it first pala. Haha! But.. when it's dry na, it looks kinda frizzy po and not so curly anymore.. :( I will try to use the products you have just posted above. Thank u so much for sharing. Hopefully I can enjoy my permed hair. :)

    1. Hello, Abigail! Perming could really dry your hair out. Mine was looking so fried back then. Kailangan talaga maglagay ka ng hair polish, hair shine, conditioner, etc.. Then, gumamit ka ng treatment every week para maka recover yung buhok mo sa damage. I incorporate organic oils to my conditioners and treatments para mas lumambot yung buhok. 😊😄
